It's been an unbelievable week of good weather. That'll continue with today's nine-game main slate!

While some solid pitchers are on the mound today, the player pool is filled with better hitters that you'll have to consider adding to your lineups.

Make sure to check out today's MLB playbook below before you get your lineups in on DraftKings and FanDuel as we present our MLB DFS picks for today, August 25th!

MLB DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

Today's slate is filled with great matchups for outfielders. You can mix and match with any outfielders I mentioned below.

I'd say Aaron Judge is a necessity at one of the outfield spots. After selecting Judge, you can go with other outfielders that fit your lineup's budget.

Meanwhile, I also wouldn't skip Elly De La Cruz at shortstop with how he's been playing lately.

Finally, a few starters have added a high strikeout rate over the last month. Therefore, we looked at pitchers who have the potential to increase their rate and who could go six or more innings.

Top Options For Strikeouts

Best Odds For A Win

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Kevin Gausman, Toronto Blue Jays

Kevin Gausman has certainly struggled against righties over the last 30 days. He's also struck out just 16.2% of overall batters in the previous month.

Yet, I'd still take a shot with Gausman today.

Gausman will battle an Angels lineup that has hit a .292 wOBA with 28.4% of strikeouts against righties in the last 30 days. Los Angeles has seven batters who have struck out at least 23.9% of the time against righties in the previous month.

So, while Gausman hasn't tallied up strikeouts much over the last 30 days, there's a good chance he will watch his average elevate after today's game.

The Angels have five batters with a wOBA of no better than .262 against righties over the last month. Gausman is a solid option, with today's slate being a bit weak at pitcher.

Seth Lugo, Kansas City Royals

Seth Lugo has struggled a bit with lefties over the last 30 days. However, overall, he's still held his previous 132 batters to a .168 ISO and wOBA of .311 with 47.5% of ground balls.

He's been much better against righties, holding them to a .141 ISO and wOBA of .263. But as you'll see throughout this slate, his strikeout rate is weak, like many pitchers on today's board.

Still, he's facing a Phillies lineup that has combined to hit a .141 ISO and wOBA of .275 with 24.7% of strikeouts. Only Kyle Schwarber has hit a high ISO and wOBA in this Phillies lineup over the last 30 days against righties.

Lugo could also see an increase in strikeouts. But more importantly, he can go six or more innings without allowing much damage.

Marcus Stroman, New York Yankees

While Marcus Stroman hasn't earned a high rate of strikeouts, he's at least held his last 80 batters to a .151 ISO.

Stroman has also limited walks to 8.8% over the last 30 days and has induced nearly 44% of ground balls. He hasn't been perfect, but he'll battle a Rockies lineup that has struck out 25.7% of the time against righties in the last 30 days.

We could see an uptick in strikeouts for Stroman. It's also likely he induces a high amount of ground balls. The Rockies have collectively hit over 40% of ground balls against righties over the last 30 days.

Stroman, at a low-tier price, could surprise.

Javier Assad, Chicago Cubs

Javier Assad is another starter with a low strikeout rate. That's a common theme with today's slate.

That said, Assad has still held his last 104 batters to a .086 ISO and wOBA of .293. Additionally, he's limited walks to 8.7% and has limited line drives to 22.4% over the last 30 days.

Assad will match up against the Miami Marlins, who have hit a .136 ISO and wOBA of .306 with 25.8% of strikeouts and 6.3% of walks over the last month against righties. Assad could also see an uptick in strikeouts and limit the Marlins to six innings or more.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Highest Expected Run Totals

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Elly De La Cruz, SS, Cincinnati Reds

Over the last 30 days, Elly De La Cruz has smashed a .270 ISO and wOBA of .405 against his last 82 righties.

He'll bat left-handed again today in a matchup against Luis L. Ortiz of the Pirates. Ortiz has allowed a .467 ISO and wOBA of .428 to his last 67 lefties. He's also allowed 43.1% of fly balls and just 29.4% of ground balls in the previous 30 days.

Beyond that, Ortiz has earned just 14.9% of strikeouts and added only 7.2% of swinging strikes while giving up a 10.6% barrel percentage to lefties.

De La Cruz has smacked 35.8% of line drives, 60.4% of hard contact, and an 18.9% barrel percentage against righties over the last 30 days. De La Cruz can add extra-base hits and stolen bases with his speed. He might even rip a home run.

Juan Soto, OF, Aaron Judge, OF, Jazz Chisholm, OF, New York Yankees

There's no better trio of outfield players than these three.

The Yankees will face Austin Gomber of the Rockies today. Gomber is a left-handed pitcher who has allowed a .292 ISO and wOBA of .352 to his last 112 batters. Lefties have hit a .207 ISO and wOBA of .368, and righties have nailed a .325 ISO and wOBA of .346.

Aaron Judge comes first if you have to choose between these three options.

Gomber has allowed 35.6% of fly balls and 57.6% of hard contact to his last 92 righties. He's not fooling righties at all.

Meanwhile, Judge has socked a .567 ISO and wOBA of .539 against his last 33 lefties. He's in line for another monster game with tons of home run potential.

On the other hand, Gomber has allowed a .207 ISO and wOBA of .368 to his last 30 lefties. Gomber typically doesn't earn a high rate of strikeouts against lefties, but he has induced a high rate of grounders while limiting fly balls.

Still, Gomber has allowed his last 30 lefties to hit a 56% hard contact rate and has allowed a below-average barrel percentage to lefties.

Juan Soto has smashed a .556 ISO and wOBA of .503 with only 6.4% of strikeouts against lefties as a lefty. Jazz Chisholm has also hit a .286 ISO and wOBA of .397 against his last 23 lefties as a lefty. Take Aaron Judge first, but these other two batters are also live.

Ian Happ, OF, Michael Busch, 1B, Pete Crow-Armstrong, OF, Cody Bellinger, OF, Chicago Cubs

The Marlins will throw Adam Oller for today's game. Oller is a former Athletics starter who doesn't have much of a sample size this season.

Oller has thrown to 23 batters and has allowed a .353 ISO and wOBA of .404 with 53.3% of fly balls and only 33.3% of ground balls induced.

We're looking to attack him from the left side of the plate. Against his first 16 lefties, he's allowed a .500 ISO and wOBA of .437 with 63.6% of fly balls and 72.7% of hard contact.

Look at the lefties Oller will have to face today using the stats over the last 30 days against righties.

Ian Happ: .234 ISO, .335 wOBA
Michael Busch: .234 ISO, .345 wOBA
Cody Bellinger: .211 ISO, .365 wOBA, 9.7% K
Pete Crow-Armstrong: .271 ISO, .352 wOBA, 9.7% K

These four hitters should have a field day against Oller in the first couple of turns at bat.

Matt Wallner, OF, Minnesota Twins

Today's slate is outfielder-heavy.

Obviously, you can't put all of these outfielders I've talked about into your lineup. But if you've got multiple lineups or are trying to fit valuable options into the lineups of other massive players, consider Wallner.

Matt Wallner is a left-handed slugger who has earned a .339 ISO and wOBA of .434 against his last 69 righties.

He'll battle Erick Fedde of the Cardinals, who has allowed his last 47 lefties to hit a .341 ISO and wOBA of .413. Fedde has allowed 41.7% of fly balls to those 47 lefties and has induced only 27.8% of ground balls while adding just 4.2% of swinging strikes.

On the other hand, Wallner has hit 75% of hard contact and a 19.4% barrel percentage against righties in the last month.
