We have a 12-game MLB slate loaded up for Thursday with an early start as a resurgent Jack Flaherty and the Detroit Tigers host Spencer Howard and the Cleveland Guardians for the first pitch of the day, starting at 1:10pm ET. It’s a split slate between the day and night games with some tremendous pitching lined up. Rookie sensation Paul Skenes takes on the Milwaukee Brewers, Justin Steele tangles with a dangerous Baltimore Orioles lineup and strikeout specialist Tanner Houck gets the Oakland Athletics

We’ll study the latest Vegas lines and odds to find the best value bets around and attack from there.

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 7/11

The streak continues as we turned out another profitable day with the Wednesday MLB predictions. We dominated with the prop bets, particularly the strikeout props. We got tripped up as Ernie Clement homered in the top of the fifth to ruin our first-five run line bet for the Giants and the Red Sox failed to capitalize against Oakland’s JP Sears, but that’s the way it goes.

If you’re still alive on a bet at the very last second, you’ve read it right and it just landed the other way. When that happens, though, our reads have put us more right than wrong and that’s what we want with MLB best bets. Profit is always good.

Athletics vs. Red Sox Prediction: Thursday, July 11

For the third straight day, we’re going to lead off our MLB picks with this lopsided series. We whiffed yesterday on the Red Sox early team total which I knew was risky against a lefty, but sometimes you have to take a shot. We have less risk today against Luis Medina and for that, I think the Red Sox build up an early and insurmountable lead.

Even though they’re the home team and their bullpen has been rattled as of late, I’m still going to take them on the run line. Their lefty bats are that good and Medina is that bad. He’ll get chased early. We’ll also side with Tanner Houck on the strikeout front as the Athletics have posted a 26.9-percent K-rate against right-handers this season.

The line opened up at 5.5 for him and quickly jumped to 6.5. I have him at seven or eight for the night, so I’m grabbing the plus-odds. Houck has only gone over this mark in one of his last five starts but has done it five times this season and while the Oakland bats have awakened lately, they’ve still posted a 26-percent K-rate over the past week. Let’s get some!

Marlins vs. Astros Prediction: Thursday, July 11

Another game with a lopsided matchup, so let’s take advantage. First off, it doesn’t matter who is pitching for the Astros. It’s Jake Bloss who is coming off the IL, so he’ll be on a pitch count and we’re likely looking at a bullpen game. So, we’ll avoid that side of things. Instead, we’ll focus on the Astros bats, their .327 wOBA over the past week and opposing pitcher, right-hander Roddery Munoz.

Munoz was thrown back into middle relief after some disastrous outings, but lands the start today, pretty much out of desperation. He struggles with his command, walks too many guys and won’t go deep into this one. The Astros are very patient at the plate and own a .326 wOBA against righties this season. I love their team total and I’m betting against Munoz on some decent value props to round out my MLB predictions today.
