Usually on Thursday morning you wake up to my explanation of my weekly rankings on Fantasy Alarm. But this week I am switching things up. As I have said all week on the SiriusXM show, these next three weeks are absolutely vital to each of our fantasy football seasons. Whether you are 1-5 or 5-1, the next three weeks will determine if you are a contender this season. If you are struggling at 1-5 or 2-4 right now, you can still win this thing I promise you. But you’re going to have to treat each week like it is a playoff week. You need to enter week 10 with four wins. At that point we can make a push for the final playoffs spot(s) in our league and then it is all about surviving and advancing in the playoffs.
So with this in mind I have poured over all of the matchups for the next three weeks and present them to you here. Basically, I took the previous six weeks of data and broke it down position-by-position to uncover which teams and players have the best upcoming matchups.
The values in each column represent the total matchup value for each team each week. The total matchup value is the sum of the QB, RB, WR & TE rankings against. The lower the number, the better the matchup.

As you can see the Browns are the team to invest in over the next three weeks. With games against the Jaguars, Raiders and Buccaneers Brian Hoyer, Ben Tate and company should be able to run wild.
The Vikings are also going to have an easy time especially in week eight against the Buccaneers. This should be great for newly anointed RB Jerick McKinnon.
The Eagles are on bye this week but draw the Cardinals and the Texans in weeks eight and nine. Nick Foles should be able to get on track during this stretch.
I know that Eddie Lacy hasn’t been nearly as good as many had hoped but in the next two weeks he draws the 31st and 23rd ranked defense against fantasy RB’s in the Panthers and Saints. If you are able to make a deal for Lacy now he could lead you to consecutive victories and catapult you back into the playoff race.
On the flipside, the Broncos have an extremely tough time coming up. The 49ers, Chargers and Patriots are all aggressive defenses that have given Peyton Manning problems in the past.
Maybe Jon Gruden will ease his chubby of Austin Davis in week 10 once the Rams have gone though the Seahawks, Chiefs and 49ers defenses. Davis isn’t worth owning at this point nor is RB Zac Stacy or any of the Rams RB’s for that matter.
The Chargers have benefitted from the easiest schedule in the NFL thus far but it gets much tougher beginning this week against Chiefs. We have likely seen the best out of Philip Rivers and company this season.
