Best NFL DFS Week 13 Watch List: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Published: Nov 26, 2024
NFL Week 13 is here and not only does that get a Happy Thanksgiving to you all, but it also gives us some fantastic DFS opportunities. You can play just the three-game Thanksgiving Day slate, you can play four-game slates for Thursday and Friday and then, of course, the reason we do the best NFL DFS Week 13 Watch List, the Sunday main slate.
All of the NFL DFS content on Fantasy Alarm is rolling out early this week and we are super-pumped to help you reel in some extra cash for the holidays.
Obviously, with three games on Thursday and one being played on Black Friday, the main slate gets whittled down just a bit. We have a 10-game slate on DraftKings and an 11-game slate on FanDuel. Sure, we miss out on guys like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown, but we still have some really fantastic players in some smash-spots on Sunday.
Just thinking about guys like Nico Collins facing the Jaguars or Alvin Kamara running against the Rams gets me all amped up and I’ll be playing them for sure. Their home in the best NFL DFS Week 13 Watch List is a no-brainer. But we also have some really strong under-the-radar options as well.
Best NFL DFS Week 13 Watch List For 2024
Before we get to the NFL DFS Week 13 Watch List, I always like to take a look back to last week’s Watch List and see some of our biggest hits & misses. Of the featured players, Mahomes and Baker Mayfield were strong, and Jordan Addison was huge.
We whiffed a little on Kareem Hunt and Theo Johnson weren’t anything special, but we did get but hard by the injury bug. Losing Brian Robinson was a real dick-shriveler for our cash-game lineups, Ja’Tavion Sanders was having a solid day until he landed on top of his head and DeVonta Smith never even made it to the field. But overall, when looking at players in the grid, we did very well.
In fact, if you followed my content last week, including all my videos on the Fantasy Alarm YouTube page, such as the Contrarian Corner and DFS Value Picks, you probably saw why I wanted you to jump onto those lineups I posted in the Fantasy Alarm Discord on Sunday morning. My FanDuel GPP was fire, though I failed to play it in bigger and better contests. Here are the results for the two contests on which I used it:

But enough back-patting. Let’s get to the best NFL DFS Week 13 Watch List.
Top DraftKings DFS Week 13 Watch List
C.J. Stroud, QB Houston Texans ($6,400)
Have you ever seen a quarterback more in need of a get-right game than Stroud right now? He’s hasn’t been completely terrible, but he also hasn’t come close to meeting expectations after such a strong season last year. Thankfully, we have the ultimate slumpbusters here in the form of the Jaguars pass defense.
Doesn’t matter that the Jags are coming off a bye. Their personnel is atrocious, allowing the most passing yards per game, the most passing touchdowns on the year and the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Push the chips all-in on Stroud this week.
Bucky Irving, RB Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($5,800)
I had Irving in the Watch List last week and he delivered in a major way against the Giants. Of course, we had to weather the early Sean Tucker storm but after a goal-line fumble, Liam Coen was told to never give him the ball again. That’s when Irving took over.
Now he gets the Carolina Panthers who are allowing the most rushing yards per game, the second-most rushing touchdowns on the year and the most fantasy points per game to the running back position. This should be a no-brainer.
Ladd McConkey, WR Los Angeles Chargers ($6,100)
He is the only trustworthy receiver for the Chargers right now and Justin Herbert will continue to lock onto him, especially in this match-up against the Falcons. He has the highest snap-share on the team, he’s seen 15 targets over the last two games and he’s playing the majority of his snaps out of the slot.
If you’re looking at DVOA numbers after last week, the Falcons, who were on a bye, still rank 31st against the slot receiver and are allowing an average of 50.5 yards per game to them.
Tommy Tremble, TE Carolina Panthers ($2,800)
With no real premium tight ends on the slate that we like, we can take another deep-dive and go for our biggest bargain. We may not like Tremble overall, but just like players like Addison or Jaylen Waddle last week, this is business and the DFS gods are smiling down on Tremble right now.
Ian Thomas is on IR and Ja’Tavion Sanders is unlikely to play after the neck/head injury last week. That puts Tremble front-and-center against the Bucs who rank 29th in DVOA against the tight end and are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to the position.
Best FanDuel DFS Week 13 Watch List
Will Levis, QB Tennessee Titans ($6,700)
Laugh all you want, but the better Levis looks here in the second half of the season, the easier it will be to find a bargain QB in DFS. Over the last three games, Levis has posted a 67.9-percent completion rate, and he had the third-highest passer rating in Week 12.
He’s jelled nicely with both Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine-Ihkine and they’ll take on the Commanders whose defense looked absolutely atrocious against the Cowboys last week. Wins and losses are irrelevant. Just as long as Levis is chucking the ball downfield.
Alvin Kamara, RB New Orleans Saints ($8,300)
It’s been a rough ride for Kamara lately, so I’m hoping this becomes more of a contrarian pick. He hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 6 and continues to see his red zone touches go to Taysom Hill. But he is not one to be quiet, so I assume he had words for Klint Kubiak and Rick Dennison over the bye week.
He’ll face the Rams coming out of the gate and it’s a fantastic match-up as they rank 23rd in DVOA against the run and are allowing the fifth-most rushing yards this season. They also rank 27th in DVOA against running back pass-plays so look for a heavy lean here.
Jalen Nailor, WR Minnesota Vikings ($5,200)
If we’re going to pay up at running back on FanDuel, something we traditionally do unless there’s a deep bargain, we need to find value elsewhere. Yes, the paydown to Levis helps, but why not save even more with a dart-throw at Nailor? He’s playing the third-most snaps of any receiver on the team and he’s seeing 46-perent of his snaps out of the slot.
That matches him up nicely against Arizona who ranks 26th in DVOA against the slot and is allowing just over 51 yards per game to them. Not to mention, Nailor is also seeing steady red zone looks over the past few weeks, so there is a splash of touchdown upside as well.
Hunter Henry, TE New England Patriots ($5,100)
One of my favorite plays on the whole slate as Henry plays an 83-percent snap share and has seen 17 targets over the last two games.
The Colts rank 24th in DVOA against the tight end and are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to them. With the steady diet of targets he sees, as well as the red zone looks, Henry could be a huge asset this week.

Player News
Panthers released TE Jordan Matthews.
Matthews converted to tight end a few years ago and hasn’t made much noise at the position. The change has, however, likely kept him in the league for a few more seasons. He appeared in four games with the Panthers last year but didn’t record any stats on offense. The Panthers also released or waived WR Dax Milne, C Andrew Raym, and TE Colin Granger.
Dolphins released LS Blake Ferguson.
The team also waived CB Ryan Cooper Jr., DT Neil Farrell and OL Chasen Hines. Ferguson has been the team’s long snapper for five seasons and earned a three-year contract extension just before the 2023 season. He should be able to find work snapping footballs farther than the average snap elsewhere in the league.
DetroitLions.com’s Tim Twentyman believes rookie WR Isaac TeSlaa “could make his earliest impact on special teams.”
It’s not much of a surprise, as most rookies cut their teeth with special teams duties. Twentyman mentioned return duties as a possibility, though the former Razorback never returned kicks or punts in college. At 6'4/212 with 4.43 wheels, TeSlaa is an explosive athlete who never translated his physical traits to on-field production at Arkansas. The Lions clearly saw potential for him to do so in the pros and traded two future third-round picks to move up to No. 70 overall for him. It’s going to be a slow burn for TeSlaa in the pros, making him a dynasty-only fantasy option.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said the team does not “have any feelings on competition” when asked about the quarterback room.
O’Connell was asked about a potential quarterback competition on the Rich Eisen Show Wednesday and was unclear on whether J.J. McCarthy would have to compete to start. He said, “we’ve got an obligation as coaches to put our players in position to attack that competition phase.” O’Connell discussed first putting Brett Rypien and the newly acquired Sam Howell in a position to play before any competition would occur. He continued that McCarthy is “owning it” this offseason and is taking snaps from starting center Ryan Kelly. After missing last season with a torn meniscus, McCarthy has been ramping up workouts in the offseason and is the front-runner to start for the Vikings in 2025. As of now, Howell looks to be reinforcement at the backup spot in case it turns out McCarthy is not ready to start.
Texans re-signed DT Foley Fatukasi.
Fatukasi initially joined the Texans last offseason on a one-year contract. The 30-year-old was a rotational defensive lineman, tallying four tackles for loss and one sack. He returns to Houston for 2025, where he will be a part of a deep Texans front seven.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Tyreek Hill’s second wrist surgery was part of the original plan and his timeline remains unchanged.
Hill announced the second surgery on social media and Pelissero quickly added some context to the situation. The speedy receiver suffered the wrist injury just before the start of the season and it lingered throughout the year, though he never missed a game because of it. If the second surgery truly is a non-story, an offseason to recover might be what Hill needs to return to form after a down 2024 season. On the other hand, Hill is 31 years old, played his worst football last year, and his offense prioritized targets for Jonnu Smith and De’Von Achane. As it stands, Hill might have the highest risk-reward split in fantasy drafts.
