Just like that, we’ve already reached Week 6 of the NFL season! Byes began taking place a week ago, so once again, we have 14 games on the slate.

On paper, many of these matchups should be competitive, but it is the NFL – we all just watched both the Cardinals and Giants go into hostile environments in Week 5 (49ers, Seahawks) and come away with unexpected victories.

Still, I’m confident in my reads here with my NFL Week 6 picks, and I’m excited to share them with you!

NFL Week 6 Early Spread Picks & Predictions

Buccaneers vs. Saints Spread Pick: Sunday, October 13th

Even though it’s in NOLA, the Buccaneers are in a strong position to cover the 3.5-point spread against the Saints in Week 6, mainly because of the quarterback challenges facing New Orleans. 

With Derek Carr's oblique injury likely keeping him off the field for multiple games, the Saints will be without their starting QB, significantly impacting their offensive capabilities. Tampa Bay's defense is more set up to stop the run, meaning they’re set to capitalize on this weakness. 

Meanwhile, the Bucs' offense has been performing well, with Baker Mayfield hitting his stride to lead a top-10 scoring unit. Look for Tampa Bay to dictate the game’s tempo and exploit the Saints’ compromised offense to successfully cover the spread.

 

 

 

Lions vs. Cowboys Spread Pick: Sunday, October 13th

How about another road favorite? I love a narrative, and Detroit will surely be out for vengeance after their still-confusing loss to Dallas last season. The Cowboys are coming off a victory against the Steelers, but that Pittsburgh offense is dreadful.

The Lions, on the other hand, boast one of the best units in all the league on that side of the ball. I think the Cowboys have a shot here because of Detroit’s weak pass defense, but they’ll need their offense to be on point, something it has struggled with so far this season. 

At the end of the day, the Lions are the much better team in this one and I don’t see them having too much trouble covering.
