2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Strategy & Advice: Week 18 Predictions

NFL Week 18 is here and we’re looking to finish strong in our 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence pools. While some pools extend into the NFL playoffs, most wrap up here in the final week of the regular season. If yours extends, we’ll have playoff information all over the pages of Fantasy Alarm, but for the sake of this column, this is our last week.

We’ve been finishing the season strong and last week, we went 13-3 with our confidence pool picks. Like everyone else, we whiffed on the New York Giants upset of the Indianapolis Colts but then we also missed on a pair of upsets we were hoping would hit and boost us in the overall standings. 

Denver couldn’t get past Cincinnati, and the Bears looked terrible against the equally-awful Seahawks. So, the favorites all went off, save for the Colts, and that’s something we’ll continue to take into account heading into Week 18.  

So, let’s dive into some late-season confidence pool advice and then make those picks for our 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools.

2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Strategy for Week 18

Once again, the confidence pool advice this week is really no different than the previous few weeks. You are either in the hunt for the money or just looking to win a week and maybe get a weekly pay-out if your pool offers one. If you’re in a money spot, then my confidence pool advice is to keep leaning into the chalk as this looks like another week where the favorites are expected to dominate. 

However, if you’re looking to make a move and making some risky picks won’t push you out of a money spot, then you can definitely take a look at some games for teams that don’t have any playoff implications. 

You could look at taking the Jaguars who are a +145 on the money line over the Colts as a potential upset. Or maybe you look at teams who could be resting their starters at some point. The Packers will either be the No. 6 or 7 seed and while no one wants to move down in seeding and face the Eagles, there is a definite possibility Green Bay takes its foot off the gas and the Bears sneak in for a win.   

If you are just in the middle of the pack or near the bottom, then there’s not much strategy involved. You’re picking the teams you expect town, and you hope you have the highest score of the week. My confidence pool advice for that is to lean into the chalk, for the most part, but have a few of your favorite upsets in there as well. It’s never going to go exactly the way the money lines and point spreads indicate, so go with your gut.

There is really nothing left to say here regarding confidence pool advice, is there? Probably not. It’s Wek 18. You’ve come this far and if you’re currently sitting in the money, protect your lead. If you aren’t but think you can move into a money spot, take some chances. No one cares who finishes outside the money so make a run for it while you can.
