Welcome to NFL Week 16! Time to make those picks for our 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools.

Our week opens with one of the tougher games to pick on the slate, so get ready for some fun. The Denver Broncos face the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium and both teams are vying for a playoff spot. If the season were to end right now, both would be in, but a loss on Thursday Night Football could make things more difficult over the next few weeks.

Both teams have a strong defense while neither has an overwhelming array of offensive weapons so this one could come down to some savvy coaching decisions by Jim Harbaugh and Sean Payton. The 2.5-point spread indicates a close one, so we’ll probably have to push this one down the confidence ladder, unless you have a particularly strong read either way.

As far as how that will affect our overall picks, it’s probably not moving the needle all that much. I don’t expect many people to be using a high confidence level on them. Especially when we have a variety of obvious mismatches on the slate. So, let’s dive into some late-season confidence pool advice and then make those picks for our 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools.

2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Strategy For Week 16

I’m guessing you’re ready to start skipping over this part as the confidence pool advice this week is really no different than the previous few weeks. With just three weeks left in the regular season, you are either in the hunt for the money or just looking to win a week and maybe get a weekly pay-out if your pool offers one. If you’re in a money spot, then my confidence pool advice is to lean into the chalk as this looks like another week where the favorites are expected to dominate.

If you are within legitimate striking distance of a bigger pay-out, then maybe lean in the other direction of a game or two you think many are going to go one way. For example, I’m going to look at a potential upset of the Minnesota Vikings by the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. There’s rain in the forecast and Geno Smith is banged up.

We’re looking at 68-percent of the public money currently on the Vikings minus the three points, but here’s the thought process – if the Vikings are such a dominant team and the Seahawks are flailing, why is Minnesota only favored by three? Even on the road, you would expect them to be at least a touchdown-favorite here.

To me, Vegas is begging you to take the Vikings which immediately pushes me to Seattle. Now, we’re not picking against the spread here, but if I believe the Seahawks can cover this spread, then I am certainly of the mindset they could actually win this game. You don’t have to make it a 10-point confidence level, but something close could really help move you up.

If you are just in the middle of the pack or near the bottom, then there’s not much strategy involved. You’re picking the teams you expect town, and you hope you have the highest score of the week. My confidence pool advice for that is to lean into the chalk, for the most part, but have a few of your favorite upsets in there as well. It’s never going to go exactly the way the money lines and point spreads indicate, so go with your gut.

NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Advice

Is there anything really left to say here regarding confidence pool advice? Probably not. You’ve come this far and if you’re currently sitting in the money, protect your lead. If you aren’t but think you can move into a money spot, take some chances. No one cares who finishes outside the money so make a run for it while you can. You’d be surprised how much you can move in a tight race with three weeks to go.

Here are my picks for Week 16 of your 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence pools.
