NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Monday Playbook

SGA is tough to justify as the most expensive player on the slate, on a back-to-back, and with a difficult matchup. Further, the PG position, particularly the range right below SGA, is absolutely loaded with high-upside options. With that being said, the ownership is currently projecting under 5% and the matchup could become sneaky good if the Rockets rule out some guys from their lengthy injury list today. 

Cade has cooled off a bit in his last two games, but he gets a dream spot against Utah tonight. The Jazz have not yet released an injury report, but they have frequently been playing without several of their top players in recent games. They are also on a back-to-back and rank dead last in DRtg. 

Kyrie is doing his best to carry the Mavs through this rough stretch of injuries. He has posted a 31.1% usage rate and averaged 30.7 points per game in his last seven contests. He gets a good matchup against the Kings tonight. 

This game features the top two teams in pace in the entire league and has a 252.5 point total. Trae has come back down to earth after a stretch of three consecutive 38-point games, but the ceiling is elite in this track meet. 

In his last two games, Curry has posted a lines of 29-5-13 and 56-4-3. Jimmy Butler is expected to return tonight, but he was active for the 56-point game as well. The matchup is excellent against the Hornets, with the only concern being the 12.5-point spread.  

Herro has flashed 60 fantasy point upside multiple times over the past month, and tonight he gets one of the best possible matchups. Washington ranks 29th in DRtg and plays at the 4th-fastest pace in the league. 

Ja is listed questionable for this game, but he is one of my favorite plays on the slate if he is able to suit up. The Grizzlies 131 implied team total is the highest on the board by a significant margin. In fact, their opponent, who is a 9-point underdog, has the second highest implied team total. That's how good Vegas expects this game environment to be. 

If you read the Ja Morant blurb, you know this is a game to be excited about. Bane becomes one of the top plays on the slate if Ja Morant is unable to play, but he is a strong option regardless. Bane has scored at least 37 fantasy points in eight of his last 10 games. 

Daniels has been filling up the stat sheet on both ends of the floor and finds himself in the best game environment of the night. He has multiple paths to posting a GPP relevant score. 

Oubre popped on the injury report as questionable, but I have a lot of interest if he is active (especially if Paul George sits). Oubre has been playing ridiculous minutes, seeing double-digit shot volume, and posting an occasional spike in rebounds. 

What in the world got into Quentin Grimes in his last game? He exploded for 44 points on 18-of-24 shooting in a game that Tyrese Maxey and Paul George were active. Do not expect a repeat performance, but the shot volume is hard to ignore. Additionally, Paul George and Kelly Oubre are both listed questionable, which could open a cleaner path to another high-usage game from Grimes. 

This is perhaps the best possible spot for Malik Beasley, as the Jazz have allowed the most three-pointers made in the entire league. Beasley has flashed 40 fantasy point upside twice in his last five games, and he made six triples in each of those ceiling performances. 

Jerami Grant has been ruled out and that means Avdija has a huge ceiling. We just saw it last night when he posted a 30-point triple-double in 42 minutes of action against a tough Cavs defense. 

Thompson can fill up a stat sheet on both ends of the floor and gets a great matchup to capitalize on that tonight. Utah has allowed the most steals and blocks in the entire league and ranks dead last defensively. 

I want as much exposure as possible to this massive game total, and LeVert is an intriguing value piece to gain access. He is averaging 27.8 minutes per game with the Hawks and has posted a 20.3% usage rate.

Mann has played at least 26 minutes in each of his last three games with the Hawks. He has also posted a 17.5% usage rate in those games, which is a meaningful bump over his 13.8% usage with the Clippers this season. 

If you read the Ja Morant blurb, you know this is a game to be excited about. JJJ becomes one of the top plays on the slate if Ja Morant is unable to play, but he is a strong option regardless. JJJ has been in the 33-34 minute range when he is able to stay out of foul trouble. 

George finally found a ceiling game two games ago against the Knicks. He was also solid last time out, but Quentin Grimes shot lights out en route to 44 points and didn't leave much for the rest of his teammates. PG is questionable for this game, but the recent performance trends are encouraging if he plays. 

Aldama went off for 15-8-11 with Morant and Bane out for the last game. Bane will be back, but Morant is questionable to play tonight. Aldama is a GPP option in an elite game environment if Morant plays, but he enters the cash game conversation if Morant sits. 

Jordan Poole and his 28.8% usage rate are out tonight, which opens up plenty of shot opportunities. George has seen a 2.4% usage bump with Poole and Malcolm Brogdon off the floor this season. Kyle Kuzma, Jared Butler, and Jonas Valanciunas lead the Wizards in usage this season with Poole and Brogdon out, and none of them are with the team any longer. They have been replaced by Khris Middleton, Marcus Smart, and Richaun Holmes in the rotation, and each of the three replacements are significantly lower usage players than their predecessors. 

Marshall has averaged 31.3 minutes over the last two games with PJ Washington out or limited, and Washington is out again tonight. He gets a solid matchup against the Kings and is underpriced for his role with the injury-riddled Mavs. 

Kel'el Ware has been ruled out for this game, which should allow Bam to move back to his natural Center position. Bam gets an elite matchup against the Wizards, who play at the 4th-fastest pace and rank just 28th in DRtg. Washington also allows the most rebounds per game in the league. 

Duren has flashed 50 fantasy point upside multiple times in the last month, with his most recent ceiling performance coming last game against the Nets. Duren posted 18-11-2 and added 6 blocks. The Jazz have allowed the most blocks in the league this season, so a repeat performance is not out of the question. 

Okongwu continues to play great basketball as the starting Center for the Hawks, and the price (despite the recent spike) is probably still not high enough. The Grizzlies play at the fastest pace in the league and the Hawks have a 122 implied team total (2nd-highest on the slate) despite being 9-point 'dogs. 

JoVal went off for 15 points and 14 rebounds in 29 minutes last, as Domantas Sabonis left early with an injury. Sabonis is out tonight and JoVal is expected to draw the start in his place. Valanciunas is currently the best value on the slate (pending Ja Morant news). 

Drummond has started the last two games for Philly, playing 21 minutes and 29 minutes. He is a risky GPP option, but one with tremendous upside if he sees uper-20 minutes again. Paul George (questionable) getting ruled out would raise the floor here significantly.
