NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Monday Playbook

SGA dropped 37-8-8 for 70 fantasy points on the same Wolves team he faces tonight. Additionally, Chet Holmgren is unlikely to play the second night of the back-to-back. OKC has the highest team total of the night and the matchup is not as tough with Gobert out again on the other side. Minnesota has a 117.7 DRtg in their last three games without Gobert, which is 22nd in the league. 

Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell have been ruled out, so it is the James Harden show in Detroit tonight. Harden has posted a 37.9% usage rate with those two off the floor this season, which is a 7.7% bump over his season-long rate. 

Trae Young has now scored 38 points in each of his last three games. The matchup against Miami is not ideal, but his last three games were against New York, Orlando, and Detroit, none of whom are elite matchups either. 

Maxey is listed questionable and Embiid is unlikely to play after reports of seeking alternative treatment options for his knee. If Maxey plays, he is one of the best spots of the night against the Bulls, who play at the 6th-fastest pace and rank 24th in DRtg. 

Herro has two 40-point games in his last three outings. He has been balling without Jimmy Butler, averaging a 31.1% usage rate and a line of 24.9-5.0-7.7 per game since Butler last suited up for the Heat. Herro gets an elite matchup against Atlanta tonight, but the one draw back is he is likely to draw the Hawks best defender in Dyson Daniels. 

Haliburton can be a frustrating roster, but he just flashed his upside last night with 57+ fantasy points against the Clippers. He draws an easier matchup tonight against Denver, who has played at a top-five pace and is just average defensively. 

Lauri Markkanen, John Collins, Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, and Collin Sexton are all out for the Jazz tonight. George leads the Jazz with a 30.8% usage rate with those five players off the floor this season. Portland has been much better on the defensive end lately, but George is still too cheap for his expected role tonight.

Lonzo has played over 29 minutes in each of the two games out of the break. He was solid in one game and awful in the other. There are plenty of shots available on this team, and Lonzo can add some peripheral stats as well. He's worth a tournament dart throw in a good matchup. 

This is the third meeting between these two teams in four games. Edwards has played well in each of the previous two matchup, with a 29-10-7 stat line last night and 23-7-7 just before the beak. Chet Holmgren is out for the Thunder, which weakens their rim protection. 

Murray has been on fire from the floor, shooting over 54% in his last 10 games. He has taken at least 16 field attempts in seven of those games, so he is getting the volume as well. He gets a great matchup against Indiana, who plays at the 7th fastest pace in the league. 

Daniels has taken a leap forward since Jalen Johnson went down with an injury. In 12 games since Johnson's injury, Daniels has per game averages of 15.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists. He also continues to lead the league in steals. 

Simons gets a dream matchup against a very shorthanded Jazz team tonight. Utah ranks dead last in DRtg and will be without five of their top rotation players. Simons has legitimate 50-fantasy point upside in this spot. 

Grimes is averaging 33.7 minutes per game in six games with the Sixers, and Embiid and Maxey are both listed questionable on the injury report. Last time both players missed the same game, Grimes went off for over 50 fantasy points. Embiid is unlikely to play after reports of seeking alternative treatment options for his knee. If Maxey also misses, Grimes is the best play on the slate. 

Kris Dunn is never a comfortable click because he has been so low usage the last few seasons, but Kawhi Leonard (28.8% USG) and Norman Powell (27.2% USG) are both out tonight. Dunn is capable of putting up peripherals (especially steals), so a bump in usage and minutes could give him a GPP-worthy ceiling.

Huerter saw 30 minutes off the bench last game as Chicago's 6th man. He seems to be carving out a decent role and gets a good matchup against Philly. He was worth some tournament shots at his price tag. 

The price tag has adjusted to J-Dub's recent production with Chet Holmgren in the lineup, and now Chet is sitting on the second night of a back-to-back. The matchup is also better than it appears on paper, as Rudy Gobert is out for the Wolves again. Minnesota has posted just a 117.7 DRtg with Gobert inactive the last three games, which ranks 22nd in the league.

The minutes for Avdija have been a bit inconsistent with Jerami Grant back in the lineup, but this is a great spot for Portland. The Jazz will be without five main rotation pieces and rank dead last in DRtg. 

The leash seems to finally be lengthening for Cam Johnson, as he played 36 minutes last game. He should be the clear top option for the Nets offense with Cam Thomas and D'Angelo Russell still inactive. 

Wiggins has at least 19 shot attempts and 20 points in each of his last two games, even with Tyler Herro going off for 40 points in the last game. Wiggins seems to be finding his rhythm with Miami and gets a great matchup against the Hawks. 

Embiid and Maxey are both listed questionable on the injury report. Embiid is unlikely to play after reports of seeking alternative treatment options for his knee. Oubre is in play even if Maxey plays, especially on DK where he is underpriced. If Maxey is also out, Oubre is one of the top values on the slate. 

Camara has been playing big minutes even with Jerami Grant back in the lineup. Camara has been ultra-efficient in his last two games, shooting 7-of-10 from three-point range. Don't expect 70% efficiency going forward, but he has a ceiling if he plays upper-30 minutes. 

Naz Reid has been smashing since Julius Randle went down with an injury, and now Rudy Gobert is out as well. He should be locked in for huge minutes and has legitimate 50+ fantasy point upside. 

Siakam went through a stretch of eight games right before the break where his aggressiveness ticked up and he averaged a 26.5% usage rate. The last game before the break and the two games coming out of it, Siakam has reverted back to the less aggressive version with a 23.2% usage rate. I am not really sure what to make of that, but he is worth a shot in tournaments, especially if he returns to a usage rate north of 25%. 

The Sixers are the most disappointing team of the season with Joel Embiid unable to figure out his knee issues and Paul George being wildly inconsistent. A $7k price tag in an elite matchup with Embiid expected to sit should scream ALL the Paul George, but I have to exercise some caution. The form for PG has just been awful for over a month now. I can't even say I would want to slam him into lineups if Tyrese Maxey also sits. He is a GPP only option for me despite the great spot. 

Grant has averaged 30 minutes in his two games since returning from injury. He is still not the high usage player we are used to from years past, but the price tag is appropriate for his current role. Add in the nut matchup against the shorthanded Jazz and Grant is in play in all formats. 

Lauri Markkanen, John Collins, Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, and Collin Sexton are all out for the Jazz tonight. Sensabaugh has seen the highest usage bump (+7.0%) on the team with those five players off the floor this season. He has not played over 28 minutes in a game this season, but if there was a ever a time, this seems like the spot. 

Brooklyn is still without their two high-usage Guards (Russell and Thomas) and also Noah Clowney. This has opened up a role for Trendon Watford, and he is playing well with the opportunity. He has played over 20 minutes in five straight games. 

Jokic has the highest ceiling on any slate he is on and happens to be in great matchup against the Pacers. Indiana allows the 5th-most points in the paint and plays at the 7th-fastest pace in the league. 

Bam has had trouble finding ceiling performances with Tyler Herro going off consistently, but this is a great matchup for him. Atlanta plays at the fastest pace in the league and allows the 4th-most points in the paint. With Dyson Daniels potentially locking down Herro tonight, Bam has a path to a monster game. 

Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell have been ruled out, which likely means Zubac will be more involved in the offense. Ben Simmons is also out, which mitigates the risk of Zubac losing minutes to smaller lineups. He has an incredible ceiling given the context tonight. 

Claxton has been playing great basketball and gets an elite matchup against the Wizards. Washington allows the 3rd-most points in the paint and ranks 23rd in DRtg. 

Lauri Markkanen, John Collins, Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, and Collin Sexton are all out for the Jazz tonight. Filipowski started and played 37 minutes the last game Kessler missed (with Collins and Markkanen active).
