We have a 12-game MLB DFS main slate on Friday, July 5th, and it's an interesting slate because most of the top pitching options are in tough spots and others might be overpriced. We're dealing with that PLUS Coors Field as the Kansas City Royals and Bobby Witt Jr. are in town.

Some of the names at the top of pitchers include Tyler Glasnow, Tanner Bibee, Aaron Nola, and Pablo Lopez. Let's dive into some of our favorite MLB DFS options on the mound and at the dish in today's MLB DFS playbook.

Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees

With how much rain there is in the forecast, there is a definite possibility that this game has a delayed start and potentially an in-game delay.

Best Odds For A Win

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Tanner Bibee, Cleveland Guardians

Everything about Bibee’s matchup is fantastic here as he faces the Giants ranking 18th in OPS against righties. Bibee has some of the best strikeout and win odds of the day and he’s been quite good of late. Over his last 10 starts, he’s averaged 21.9 DKP/game.

Aaron Nola, Philadelphia Phillies

Since June 1st, there have been just a few teams worse than the Atlanta Braves against right-handed pitching. They’re 25th in OPS and wOBA and sport a 24.7% K-rate to boot. Nola is on the opposite end of the spectrum and comes into this contest pitching really well, notching three straight quality starts, and has accomplished that in eight of nine starts. He’s been great outside of one start in Boston.

Cole Ragans, Kansas City Royals

It’ll be interesting to see where Ragans ownership checks in at, but everything about this matchup piques my interest. First off, this is a pitcher generally 9K or more, sometimes approaching 10K. He’s 8.2K on DK. Secondly, he faces a bad Rockies offense that strikes out 24.6% of the time against lefty hurlers. I know it’s Coors Field, but something about the price, projected strikeouts, and matchup has me incredibly interested.

Drew Thorpe, Chicago White Sox

Despite back-to-back solid performances, Drew Thorpe’s DK price has dipped and that’s confusing considering it dipped when he’s facing the Marlins. He hasn’t exactly had a murderer's row of matchups, but this one isn’t either. Since June 1st, Mimai has struck out 26% of the time against righties while ranking 30th in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+. Walks have been Thorpe’s biggest issue, but Miami has walked a league-low 4.4% of the time since June 1st against righties.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Bobby Witt, Kansas City Royals

It’s not only that he’s heading into Coors Field, it’s that he’s heading into Coors while ROLLING offensively. He has hits in nine of 10 games and over that span is batting .389 with a 1.230 OPS. He has an .839 OPS with a .179 ISO and .358 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season.

Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers

Although Aaron Civale has been quite unlucky this year, he does not have good numbers against left-handed pitching. Freeman has hit .332 with 10 HR against righties this season. Civile has allowed a .286 AVG and a .850 OPS.

Christian Walker, Arizona Diamondbacks

I mean, I know he's not in Dodger Stadium anymore, but what a freakin' tear this guy is one. Five home runs in his last three games? This guy is in God mode! Randy Vasquez has allowed 1.74 HR/9 this year. That's all that needs to be said.

Anthony Santander & Ryan Mountcastle, Baltimore Orioles

I like Baltimore in this spot despite the park downgrade. Hogan Harris has gotten quite lucky against right-handed hitters and now you face players that crush lefties. Santander has an .877 OPS and .269 ISO and Mountcastle’s at .853 and .188 respectively. Both of their prices are reasonable and perfectly fit an Orioles stack.

Hunter Renfroe, Kansas City Royals

The Royals are going to be very popular and one of their best hitters of late has been Hunter Renfroe. In June, Renfroe hit north of .300 and had a 1.000+ OPS and .300+ ISO and now heads into Coors Field against a lefty. This is a guy with a career .846 OPS and .256 ISO against lefties.

Minnesota Twins

I have a lot of interest in the Twins, so I’m grouping them here. Shawn Dubin has had control issues, allowed a TON of hard contact and has only made one start this year. Here are some Twins’ numbers vs. RHP since June 1st;

Love Brooks Lee at $2K as well.

Ben Rice, New York Yankees

I like the price, I like the fact he led off on Thursday and I like his patience at the dish. He hit his first home run on Thursday and with Juan Soto and Aaron Judge behind him in the lineup, he'll see plenty of pitches to hit.
