2025 Player Outlook
Correa was limited to just 86 games last season due to spending time on the IL for an oblique strain and plantar fasciitis, but across those 86 games, he slashed .310/.388/.517 with 14 home runs, 20 doubles, and 54 RBI. Albeit a smaller sample size, his .517 SLG would have been his highest since 2019, and his 16.6 percent strikeout rate would be the lowest of his career. The veteran shortstop remains an above-average offensive shortstop, and a double-digit walk rate year in and year out makes him incredibly value in OBP leagues. A trip or two the IL is already baked into his price, but if he can get to 130+ games played like he did in each of his first two years with the club, he'll be a phenomenal value at his current ADP. He hasn't stolen a base since 2019, but 20+ home runs and a .270+ batting average is easily in play for Correa in 2025.
Player News
Carlos Correa doubled and singled twice against the Angels on Sunday.
Correa’s exit velocity numbers have been a bit off, but his second single today was a 112.6-mph smash that rated as his hardest-hit ball of the season. It’s his first three-hit game. He wound up 6-for-13 with three RBI in the series against the Angels, improving his OPS from .496 to .578.
Carlos Correa (wrist) went 2-for-3 with a double and also walked on Friday against the Braves in his return to the lineup.
Correa was back in Minnesota’s lineup for Friday’s series opener after missing just one game due to left wrist soreness. The 30-year-old shortstop shouldn’t require a trip to the injured list, but it’s a lingering physical issue that fantasy managers should continue to monitor.
Carlos Correa came off the bench to play defense Wednesday after being held out of the lineup with a wrist issue.
Rocco Baldelli indicated that his wrist injury dates back to before him leaving Tuesday’s game, but that it’s not a source of concern. Still, Baldelli didn’t want Correa hitting today, and he probably wouldn’t have used Correa at all if Willi Castro hadn’t gotten hurt.
Carlos Correa made an early exit from Tuesday’s game against the Mets with an apparent wrist injury.
Correa was replaced in the middle of a fifth-inning at-bat, which is never a great sign, after fouling off a pitch. Minnesota’s training staff appeared to be examining his left wrist prior to him leaving the field. There should be an update on his status shortly.
