Fantasy Baseball Injury Report This Week
The Los Angeles Dodgers provided some less than optimistic statements about Roki Sasaki, while the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets will be without key pieces of their respective rotations for the next month plus. Tyler Mahle and Royce Lewis were recently placed on the injured list, while the hope is that Alex Bregman can return for the Boston lineup around the All-Star break.

MLB Injury Report: Starting Pitchers
Roki Sasaki, Los Angeles Dodgers - Shoulder
So, Sasaki is now no longer throwing, and there’s no timeline to even resume that. In the video linked here, Dave Roberts says that while they hope to get him back, the mindset should be to “plan on life without him as far as this year.” Well, that doesn’t sound good for Sasaki’s 2025 outlook…
Kodai Senga, New York Mets - Hamstring
Senga is expected to be out over a month due to this hamstring strain.
Heyman: Kodai Senga (hamstring) expected to miss at least 5 weeks.

Logan Gilbert, Seattle Mariners - Elbow
Gilbert will return from the injured list and start Monday’s game against the Boston Red Sox. It will be Gilbert’s first start since exiting early on April 25.
Tyler Mahle, Texas Rangers - Shoulder
Mahle was placed on the IL with shoulder fatigue. After logging just 38.1 IP between the 2023 and 2024 regular seasons, Mahle is up to 77 IP for the season.
Bryce Miller, Seattle Mariners - Elbow
Seattle GM Justin Hollander expects Miller to be out for most of his 4-6 week timeline, and he underwent a PRP injection to try to help with the bone spur in his elbow.
Hunter Greene, Cincinnati Reds - Groin/Back
The Reds are expecting to be without Greene for quite some time, but in the video here, you’ll hear Nick Krall say that they hope he’s back “around” the All-Star break.
Max Scherzer, Toronto Blue Jays - Thumb
Scherzer worked up to 56 pitches in his latest rehab start, logging 4.1 IP. His next rehab start is set for Wednesday, June 18.
Justin Verlander, San Francisco Giants - Pec
We could see Verlander return at some point in the early part of this week. Roster Resource has Verlander slated to pitch on Wednesday.
Kyle Freeland, Colorado Rockies - Back
Freeland was placed on the injured list with stiffness in his lower back.
MLB Injury Report: Relief Pitchers
Justin Martinez, Arizona Diamondbacks - Elbow
Martinez has a torn UCL and will require Tommy John surgery, thus ending his 2025 season.
MLB Injury Report: Hitters
Royce Lewis, Minnesota Twins - Hamstring
Just when things looked like they may have been turning around, Lewis heads back to the IL with a hamstring strain. It’s only a mild strain, but I’d expect the team to be a bit cautious, as this is the same hammy that pushed back the start of his 2025 season.
Jackson Merrill, San Diego Padres - Concussion
After a scary play at second base, Merrill was placed on the 7-day concussion IL, and his timeline is TBD at this juncture.
Alex Bregman, Boston Red Sox - Quad
The goal is still to return before the All-Star break for Bregman, who has worked up to running, throwing, and working out at 50%.
Alex Bregman says his quad strain is healing much faster than his last one that caused him to miss 2+ months. He’s rehabbing 12 hours a day.
He wouldn’t give an ETA, but said he hopes to return before the All-Star Break. There’s a chance he doesn’t go on a rehab stint.

Giancarlo Stanton, New York Yankees - Elbows
The expectation is that Stanton will be activated and join the big league lineup at some point during this upcoming series against the Los Angeles Angels.
Evan Carter, Texas Rangers - Wrist
Carter had some wrist soreness that caused him to leave Friday’s game early, but he served as a pinch runner on Saturday, before returning to the starting lineup on Sunday.
Tyler O’Neill, Baltimore Orioles - Shoulder
O’Neill has once again been shut down, clearly indicating something is still ailing him in that left shoulder. He was 4-for-10 in three rehab games prior to being shut down.
Isaac Paredes, Houston Astros - Hamstring
Paredes remains day to day with his hamstring issue, and he hasn’t seen the field since June 12.
