Evan Carter went 2-for-5 with a stolen base for Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Carter also had two hits on Tuesday and is riding a seven-game hitting streak in which he’s gone 10-for-30 with a double, two triples, a home run, five RBI, and two steals. While his season-long numbers are not great, Carter could push for a return to the Rangers’ lineup if he can keep up his recent production for another few weeks.
Evan Carter went 2-for-4 with a triple for Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
Carter has reached base safely in all 17 games at Triple-A this season to go along with five stolen bases. He’s also swatted two home runs and has a 1.027 OPS over his last 10 games. The batting average leaves a little to be desired, and it’s possible he’s chasing too much out of the zone, but there’s a lot to like about what he’s doing at Triple-A right now.
Evan Carter went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
Carter has been rounding into form a bit of late. While the hits haven’t been falling, he has just one strikeout in his last five games while taking six walks, clubbing a home run, and stealing three bases. He’s just 3-for-12 over that stretch, but the plate discipline and speed are nice to see as he tries to work his way back to the Rangers’ lineup.
Evan Carter left Tuesday’s game at Triple-A Round Rock after getting hit in the hand by a pitch while trying to bunt.
Fortunately, it appears he avoided a break here. Carter was 0-for-3 before departing. He’s just 2-for-22 with no extra-base hits in six games for Round Rock, though he has walked seven times. Given his struggles, he might not be the choice for a callup if Wyatt Langford needs to go on the IL.
