NHL DFS Picks & Playbook Today, 3/28
DFS NHL Lineup Construction Thoughts
Don't miss out on our extensive 8-game lineup featuring top-tier players in favorable matchups. While stars like Kirill Kaprizov and David Pastrnak are available, there are also fantastic value options to consider.
Goalies are crucial in shaping our lineups, so choose wisely. Whether opting for a premium goalie or a budget-friendly one, remember that goalies remain unpredictable.
NHL DFS Goalie Picks
Best Value Goalies
- Charlie Lindgren vs. Buffalo Sabres
- Jake Allen vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
- Sam Montembeault vs. Florida Panthers
Best Odds For A Win
- Anthony Stolarz vs. Montreal Canadiens
- Ilya Sorokin vs. Chicago Blackhawks
- Jacob Markstrom vs. Anaheim Ducks
NHL DFS Lineups: Best Goalies to Use
Jacob Markstrom, G, Calgary Flames
Jacob Markstrom hasn’t been very good on home ice this season, but the Anaheim Ducks are just a terrible hockey team, and they can’t score on the road. Markstrom feels like a risky play, but if he can’t beat the Ducks, then when can we trust him? His upside isn’t really there, so he’s more of a cash-game option.
Ilya Sorokin, G, New York Islanders
It’s been a season to forget for Ilya Sorokin. He has lost his last five starts and now has a 3.08 GAA. He is slightly better on home ice and has a great matchup against Chicago. He’s another high-priced goalie that can be considered for cash games.
Jake Allen, G, New Jersey Devils
My favorite goalie for this slate is whoever starts for the Devils. Jake Allen is likely to get the call and he has been very good since coming over at the trade deadline. Pittsburgh can shoot the puck, but they can’t find the back of the net. The Devils still have some hope of making the playoffs, but time is quickly running out.
Charlie Lindgren, G, Washington Capitals
I don’t love the Washington Capitals on the road, but I do think they can keep their game close against the Buffalo Sabres. Charlie Lindgren has been good this season and he is the main reason his team currently sits in a playoff spot. His $7,400 price tag on DraftKings is a real bargain.
Logan Thompson, G, Vegas Golden Knights
I really don’t love Vegas’ matchup, but we can’t ignore the fact that Logan Thompson is 4-0 in his last four starts and has allowed just four goals in that span. He’s been really good for his team and is worth considering on this slate. He might be a better option for a GPP, but I wouldn’t fault you for trying to go big in cash games with him.
DFS NHL Player Picks
Highest Expected Goal Total
- Calgary Flames vs. Lukas Dostal (3.7)
- New York Islanders vs. Arvid Soderblom (3.8)
- Florida Panthers vs. Sam Montembeault (3.8)
NHL DFS Lineups: Best Skaters to Use
Joel Eriksson Ek, C, Minnesota Wild
You don’t have to go all out at the center position tonight. Joel Eriksson-Ek is skating on the top line and has a really good matchup against Ottawa. He has 30 goals on the season and is in a good spot to add more to his total.
Mathew Barzal, C, New York Islanders
The New York Islanders are still fighting for a playoff spot, so I expect them to come out tonight with some fight. Barzal is seeing a healthy amount of ice time, but his shot volume is still very inconsistent. He has hit the shot bonus in two of his last five games, so there is some hope.
Kirill Kaprizov, W, Minnesota Wild
Since we aren’t breaking the bank down the middle, we can really spend up on the wing. Kirill Kaprizov has a great matchup against Ottawa and continues to just rack up points. I love his matchup and the value that he could hit.
Jack Hughes, W, New Jersey Devils
The Pittsburgh Penguins are a mess, and I will gladly target them. Jack Hughes is a high-volume shooter, and he has five goals in his last five games. He’s going to get a lot of great chances tonight and I can see him finishing with multiple points.
Roman Josi, D, Nashville Predators
I don’t love the Nashville Predators tonight, but I do love the value of Roman Josi. He can shoot the puck, block shots and rack up points. His floor is extremely high, so I wouldn’t hesitate to roll him out in all formats.
MacKenzie Weegar, D, Calgary Flames
MacKenzie Weegar is really putting together a fantastic season. He has 43 points this year but is shooting the puck a decent amount and racking up blocked shots. He had seven last game and 17 over the last four. The Ducks don’t shoot much, so that does limit his upside, but he could still hit value by collecting some points. This is a good way to get some exposure to the Flames via the back end.
