Vikings vs. Titans Predictions For NFL Week 11, Sunday 11/17

After their 5-0 start was snapped with back-to-back losses, there were questions surrounding the Vikings and if their surprise story was all fool’s gold. Well, now at 7-2 and seemingly thriving, they find themselves considerable road favorites according to the Vikings vs. Titans odds.

We’re predicting quite an interesting matchup though, as Minnesota WR Justin Jefferson has been arguably the best and most consistent at the position, but now faces the NFL’s best passing defense. That’s right - despite being just 2-7 and all but looking forward to the offseason, Tennessee’s defense has been extremely solid.

As with most stats and numbers, there is always more to the story, which has helped us provide the top pick from our Vikings vs. Titans predictions after discussing each team’s storylines.

Minnesota Vikings: Cleaning Up…A Victory?

While the Vikings have certainly gotten back on track, they are still far from flawless. They were in a very similar spot just this past Sunday facing the other then 2-7 team in the AFC South, the Jacksonville Jaguars, on the road and came away with just a 12-7 victory.

Although that may at least have their defense looking good, that was also a Jacksonville squad without starting QB Trevor Lawrence. Thankfully for them, Tennessee has had QB troubles of their own and starting RB Tony Pollard is clearly not 100% healthy. Minnesota needs to use these factors to clean things up to keep pace with the 9-1 Detroit Lions in the NFC North.

Tennessee Titans: Finding The Flow

Speaking of those QB struggles in Nashville, it has also been a revolving door. Second-year QB Will Levis struggled mightily, got injured, backup QB Mason Rudolph led the team to a win, struggled mightily and now, Levis is back under center.

As many former QBs will tell you, it’s difficult to find a flow and rhythm not just within a game, but throughout a season. This can be especially true with a young QB like Levis, as his confidence can be easily diminished when benched and then thrust back into the spotlight. He did have a great connection with WR Calvin Ridley last Sunday, which is something that they can try and build upon.

Vikings vs. Titans Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines

As noted, Minnesota finds themselves as clear road favorites this Sunday, and you can see the latest Vikings vs. Titans odds at FanDuel Sportsbook here:

Vikings vs. Titans Predictions: Minnesota -5.5 (-120 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

You’ve likely noticed that we’ve been referencing “road favorite” a few times, and that’s for good reason. It’s arguably the most glaring trend of the first half of the NFL season, as teams in that spot have been performing extremely well.

So much so that road favorites against the spread this season are 41-17, which is a resounding 70.7% hit rate. Anything above 55% is quite impressive, which speaks to just how difficult of a time oddsmakers have been having while handicapping these top teams away from home.

Speaking of which, FanDuel is the lone sportsbook offering the focus of our Vikings vs. Titans predictions at 5.5 points rather than six, but even if that’s what you see at time of reading, we’re more than comfortable with that. We have Minnesota as favorites of just over a touchdown, so anything less than seven points would be a play.

We noted the Titans’ strong pass defense, but that is a bit misleading. Given their poor play, teams haven’t needed to sling the rock against them to try and catch up, or even keep pace. Thanks to the likes of Levis pick sixes and the like, teams have just casually cruised against Tennessee.

The same should be the case this weekend, so we’re locking in the best bet from our Vikings vs. Titans predictions on Minnesota -5.5 (-120 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
