Rams vs. Bears Predictions For NFL Week 4, Sunday 9/29
If this matchup had been just a week or two earlier, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the point spread completely flipped. Of course, the NFL is always fluid, and while both teams have been far from great, we have Chicago as clear home favorites.
The question many fans are wondering is if Bears rookie QB Caleb Williams can start living up to the hype or if the savvy veteran Rams QB Matthew Stafford can overcome an injury-riddled team. Truthfully, it feels difficult to trust either team, but you’ll see how we’re avoiding that when breaking down the best bet from our Rams vs. Bears predictions.
Los Angeles Rams: Reading The Room
Reading the Rams hasn’t been fun for fans or oddsmakers alike. Their season opener was a Sunday Night Football playoff rematch with the Detroit Lions, which was a narrow overtime loss, but then they were absolutely crushed by the Arizona Cardinals 41-10.
As if that wasn’t back-and-forth enough, we then just saw LA pull off an incredible double-digit comeback over the San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday. Much of this rollercoaster is thanks to head coach Sean McVay trying to figure out gameplans with the star WR duo of Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp injured, which has also decimated fantasy football teams.
Chicago Bears: Remaining Bullish On Williams
Living up to #1 overall pick hype is always a massive challenge, but even still, Williams’ first three NFL starts have not been ideal. Heading into the season, much of the narrative was that we’ve never seen a rookie QB coming into a better situation with the team putting plenty of weapons around him.
Well, it seems as though the offensive line was largely ignored. He’s known for being great off script, so he’s at least lighting up the stat sheet. For example, even in last week’s loss, He threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns. So for another fantasy football relationship, he’s at least been great in that regard!
Rams vs. Bears Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
We noted that the Rams vs. Bears odds had Chicago as rather clear favorites, and here are the latest lines at FanDuel Sportsbook:
- Point Spread: Los Angeles Rams +2.5 (-102) vs. Chicago Bears -2.5 (-120)
- Money Line: Los Angeles Rams (+132) vs. Chicago Bears (-156)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 40.5 (-118) vs. Under 40.5 (-104)
Rams vs. Bears Predictions: Over 40.5 Points (-118 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
With an injury-riddled Rams squad and slow-going Bears crew, we’re not surprised to see quite a low total for this NFC clash. However, it’s a bit lower than we anticipated, and we’re even getting a favorable number at FanDuel.
Even at 41 or 41.5, we’re still expecting a final score of something like 23-20 in either team’s favor - that would correlate with the point spread as well. Rather than sweating out a pick in that regard and having to actually trust either team, we’re just going to trust that the sloppy football we’ve seen from both teams leads to points.
After all, 41 points is not much in the grand scheme of things, especially since we saw the Rams give up 41 themselves just two Sundays ago. We certainly aren’t expecting that from Chicago this Sunday, but they can certainly muster up a 20 spot. Look for them to do so through the air once again, as LA has allowed the fourth-most passing yards per game.
Stafford may need to lean on RB Kyren Williams a bit more this weekend, but they can still help cash the best bet from our Rams vs. Bears predictions on the over 40.5 points (-118 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
