Bears FB Khari Blasingame left the team’s Week 9 matchup against the Saints to enter concussion protocol.
Blasingame was injured in the second quarter against the Saints, leaving the field to head to the blue medical tent. The Bears announced that he is being evaluated for a concussion.
Bears signed FB Khari Blasingame to a two-year contract.
Blasingame joined the Bears on a one-year contract last offseason and appeared in 16 games. One of the few true fullbacks still in the league, Blasingame was used exclusively as a blocker last season, drawing just one target while failing to see a rush attempt. When he's not paving the way for Chicago's rushing attack, Blasingame can be spotted on the kicking and punting teams.
Bears declared FB Khari Blasingame, CB Kyler Gordon, S Jaquan Brisker, QB Tim Boyle, CB Kindle Vildor, OT Ja'Tyre Carter, and OL Larry Borom inactive for Week 13 against the Packers.
Blasingame will be inactive for the first time this year. Though not listed on the injury report, the Bears later announced his absence was due to an illness. The fullback usually picks up a 10-20 percent snap share on offense while also contributing on special teams.
Bears signed FB Khari Blasingame, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year contract.
Blasingame is primarily a blocker, recording just a dozen touches during his three-year stint with the Titans. He totaled five touches for 10 yards in 2021. Blasingame will spend most of his time blocking or on special teams.
