For the second straight week, we have a Monday Night Football doubleheader, which means one fewer game on Sunday yet again. Not to worry - we’re still here with our NFL Week 4 player prop picks for you! Even with one fewer game, we’ve still found great spots to target for our NFL Week 4 player props to provide you with the best possible value.
Speaking of value, we’ve also got an extremely generous $1,000 Caesars Sportsbook sign up bonus to take you through after breaking down our best NFL Week 4 player prop picks!
Best NFL Week 4 Player Prop Picks
So how have our player prop best bets been performing? Well, our most recent favorite play was for New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave to score a touchdown at +160 odds, so we’re looking to ride that momentum for our NFL Week 4 player prop picks.
We don’t have a spot with quite those plus-money odds, but there is a bit of a theme for our NFL Week 4 player props. That would be QBs lighting it up through the air, and relatively young ones at that. They’ll both be at home at rough losses last week as well, but before we get too deep into things, let’s fully break down the first of our NFL Week 4 player prop picks individually.
Jaguars vs. Texans Player Props: C.J. Stroud Over 267.5 Passing Yards (-125 at Caesars Sportsbook)
We’ve got multiple divisional rivalries to enjoy in Week 4, which includes the AFC South showdown with the Houston Texans hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars. This game alone features the next generation of QBs, but we’re going to focus on Houston’s C.J. Stroud.
The Ohio State product had a record-setting rookie season, but at this point, just about every fan has heard all about that. Well, we expect many of those numbers you’ve been hearing all offseason to continue against a Jags defense that struggles on the backend. Frankly, that would be putting it mildly.
Jacksonville’s secondary has been getting torched through the air, allowing the third-most passing yards per game. It was on full display in prime time in Week 3 as well, as the Jags were crushed 47-10 by the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. The Bills scored touchdowns on all five first-half possessions, so QB Josh Allen wasn’t forced to throw much after that.
Even still, Allen racked up 263 yards and four TD passes. We considered TD passes for Stroud as well, but with the over 1.5 juiced to around -150, the value simply isn’t there. Instead, we’re willing to trust him to hit over his passing yards prop, just as he did in both games against Jacksonville in his rookie season.
Last season, Stroud easily hit over this mark in both games, averaging 292 passing yards per game against the Jags. We’re even getting better value thanks to Caesars, as this prop is listed as high as 270.5 yards! Therefore, we’re confident making the first of our NFL Week 4 player prop picks C.J. Stroud over 267.5 passing yards (-125 at Caesars Sportsbook).
Patriots vs. 49ers Player Prop Bets: Brock Purdy Over 223.5 Passing Yards (-117 at Caesars Sportsbook)
The other QB that we’re targeting with our NFL Week 4 player props is in a late afternoon game, and rather than a division rivalry, is part of a coast-to-coast matchup. That would be the San Francisco 49ers hosting the New England Patriots, with both teams coming off heartbreaking losses.
Of course, they came in different fashions, as the 49ers blew a double-digit lead to a division rival, while the Pats were crushed by 21 by a division rival in prime time. Either way, they’re both sitting at 1-2, but that is a much more surprising result for San Francisco. Much of that has to do with injuries, but we’re still willing to trust their signal caller to help them bounce back.
Truthfully, even in the losses, QB Brock Purdy has been lighting up the stat sheet. Look no further than last week - in their loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Purdy still tossed the rock for 292 yards and three touchdown passes. That came after a 319-yard performance, and the argument of an injured WR Deebo Samuel doesn’t hold much weight.
Purdy was without him against the Rams, and that clearly didn’t make a difference. If anything, his absence is a large part of why this prop is so much lower than his season average. As if all that wasn’t enough, through the air is exactly how to attack the Pats.
New England’s run defense is elite, allowing the fourth-fewest yards per game. On the flip side, they’re allowing the sixth-most passing yards per game. With all that in mind, we’re adding to our NFL Week 4 player prop picks with Brock Purdy over 223.5 passing yards (-117 at Caesars Sportsbook).

Player News
49ers signed WR Equanimeous St. Brown.
He’ll help soak up training camp reps with Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, and Jauan Jennings dealing with various levels of disgruntlement or injury recovery. St. Brown played in two games with the Saints last year, and was last a starter with the 2022 Bears.
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Jauan Jennings has “not formally requested a trade.”
My “hasn’t formally requested a trade” t-shirt is generating many questions that could be answered by the t-shirt. Jennings reported to camp and is expected to participate on Wednesday. How high of a level of participating we’ll see remains anyone’s guess.
49ers GM John Lynch said Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is “not anywhere close to having a concrete timeline” to return to the field.
“He did a lot to his knee, I’d tell you he’s in a really good place considering all that,” Lynch told 49ers reporter Cam Inman. If you’ve been following the Aiyuk knee news this offseason, it was never really a doubt that he’d take a while to return. He is probably best regarded as a return candidate for October or November in fantasy leagues.
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said EDGE Micah Parsons will “participate in walkthroughs, mock games and individual drills” during training camp.
There’s some space between what Schottenheimer said and a full training camp workload, so it sounds like Parsons is a limited hold-in. We’re sure to see breathless recounting of what Parsons does and does not participate in throughout training camp as the Cowboys avoid paying him until the very last minute.
Rams coach Sean McVay said Matthew Stafford (back) is dealing with soreness and the Rams plan to limit his practice time during the first five days of training camp.
Same. This doesn’t have the look of anything major at this point, but we’ll monitor the situation. Stafford has fringe QB1 upside in fantasy leagues this year with the addition of Davante Adams, but he has been increasingly prone to getting dinged up since missing half of the 2022 season. You’ll all understand when you turn 37.
Bears signed DL Tanoh Kpassagnon and CB Tre Flowers.
Kpassagnon, a bane to spellcheck, played with Dennis Allen’s Saints the past three seasons. Flowers is cornerback depth with Jaylon Johnson (leg) set to miss a few weeks of training camp with an injury he suffered this offseason.
