2024 Fantasy Football Week 15 IDP Report: Risers, Waiver Wire & Matchups
Welcome to the second season of Fantasy Football, the 2024 playoffs. To those with IDP roster requirements, the roster decisions continue. Before any readers congratulate themselves for being in first or a comeback win last week to sneak in the playoffs, don’t.
There is nothing special about not winning any meaningful games beyond what all the losers did. It’s time to focus and fine tune our rosters, as we didn’t get this far too only get this far. Nine Fantasy Football IDPs are mentioned to help fine tune rosters and help with difficult decisions.
2024 Fantasy Football Week 15 IDP Overview
A full schedule of games and six teams coming off a bye week means there are several opportunities to take advantage of.
The nine players for Week 15 include players that could have been dropped, players that are rising up the rankings, players that should be grabbed in waivers, and IDPs that have a great Week 15 matchup.
Fantasy Football IDP Risers Week 15
Zach Sieler is a defensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins, and he had a massive week 14. He had four tackles and was able to bring down Aaron Rodgers twice. He now has six sacks on the season and has a great chance to add more during the fantasy football playoffs.
The Dolphins just beat their divisional opponent the New York Jets, and now have an opportunity to beat the AFC South leading Houston Texans. The Dolphins have the slimmest of playoff hopes, and they will need big plays from their IDPs to win against Houston.
The Texans have had a difficult time protecting C.J. Stroud this season, and Sieler could take advantage of a poor offensive line. He has four or more tackles in his last six games played. A few tackles against Joe Mixon and a sack or two against Strould would be a great Week 15.
Take a look at this riser, and snag him if you are struggling at the defensive line position.
Darnay Holmes is a bright spot for the Las Vegas Raiders, and the defensive back has been a great Fantasy Football IDP lately. He has really played well his last four games, and had productive IDP games during what were tough bye weeks. He is still worth rostering or at minimum keeping an eye out for.
The Raiders do not have many great IDPs, even Maxx Crosby and Robert Spillane have cooled down compared to their hot start. Holmes has been a productive Fantasy Football IDP and has been rewarded with steady playing time.
The Raiders have a favorable IDP playoff schedule against the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars at home. They then play the fantasy championship game against the New Orleans Saints who are not playing well, and could be without Derek Carr. Holmes has a high floor and could see several snaps as the Raiders scramble to find a quarterback. Look for this riser with a favorable playoff schedule.
Luke Gifford stepped up out of nowhere last week. He is a linebacker for the Tennessee Titans that filled in for Kenneth Murray in week 14 and played excellently. Gifford earned 11 tackles against the Jacksonville Jaguars, that matched his previous tackle total from the previous four years combined.
It is unknown if Murray will come back this week, but Gifford needs to be monitored regardless. The Tennessee Titans have one of the worst offenses in the NFL, and their IDPs will be playing more snaps due to it.
Keep an eye on the pop-up Fantasy Football IDP, as he could put together double-digit tackles for every game of the fantasy football playoffs.
Fantasy Football Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire Targets
Micah McFadden, Linebacker, New York Giants
The New York Giants are headed straight to the first pick of the NFL 2025 Draft and will do so with terrible offensive play. Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito, Danny DeVito it doesn’t matter who’s the quarterback, it has been terrible. This is a good thing for the IDPs of their team.
Micah McFadden is back to a top tier linebacker, and he will have great numbers for the fantasy football playoffs. He has 11 or more tackles in three of his last five games, and 44 total during that span.
The Giants play the Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, and Indianapolis Colts the next three weeks. There is opportunity for several tackles against the elite running back combination of Derrick Henry, Bijon Robinson, and Jonathan Taylor. Go pick up Micah McFadden for the playoff run.
Bobby Wagner, Linebacker, Washington Commanders
The old man may have been forgotten in leagues with three or less IDP requirements. Week 13 was his worst statistical performance of the season and the Washington Commanders were on bye for week 14. This could cause fantasy football general managers to have dropped the future Hall of Fame member.
With two weeks rest and the Commanders currently in the playoffs, Bobby Wagner will be ready to go. His playoff stretch is one that should make Fantasy Football IDP heads salivate at the mouth. On the road against the New Orleans Saints, then the next two weeks at home against the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. For those that play to week 18 the Commanders play the Cowboys in what will likely be a meaningful game.
That means for the playoffs he has a matchup against running backs Alvin Kamara, Saquon Barkley, and Bijon Robinson. Not to mention quarterbacks that run if Derek Carr is not able to play. Wagner will be in the middle of almost every defensive play and should be a player picked up on the waivers for Week 15.
Devin White, Linebacker, Houston Texans
For the deeper leagues take a look at Devin White of the Houston Texans. It was only a few years ago that White was considered one of the best linebackers in the league, making big plays on the way to winning a super bowl.
He is now on his third team in less than a year and will be asked to step it up in the absence of Aziz Al-Shaair. White will likely be a starter for the next three weeks with Al-Shaair sitting out with a suspension. The Houston Texans have playmakers across their defense so White may not do everything.
However he could be a linebacker that has ten or more tackles in every game with passes deflected as a great coverage linebacker. The Texans are playing for a chance to win the AFC South, and host a home playoff game. White is worth a stash in deeper leagues, as he could remind everyone why he was once a set and forget linebacker.
NFL Week 15 IDP Matchups To Capitalize On
Indianapolis Colts vs. Denver Broncos, Sunday 4:25 PM ET
- Nik Bonitto, Defensive Lineman - DEN
Bonitto has been an excellent pass rusher this season. He is the first Denver Bronco to have 10 or more sacks in a season since Von Miller and Bradley Chubb did it in 2018. The Broncos have been winning behind their excellent defensive play and Bonitto is a large part of their success.
He has a sack recorded in four straight games, and ten of his last eleven games this season. Despite that he could have been dropped due to six teams on bye on such a crucial week. If so go get him, and if he’s in your roster play him.
The Broncos host the Indianapolis Colts and Bonitto will have an opportunity to bring down Anthony Richardson more than once in this pivotal AFC conference showdown. Trust the third year Bronco to have a great game in Week 15.
Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers, Thursday, 8:15 PM ET
- De’Vondre Campbell, Linebacker - SF
De’Vondre Campbell is overlooked this season, both in reality and in fantasy football. That will happen when you are playing alongside what most consider to be the best linebacker in the league, Fred Warner.
However Campbell has put up decent numbers this season, and with so many injured players he has been a constant for the San Francisco 49ers. He has five or more tackles in all but two games this season, and in each of his last five games.
He is playing against the Los Angeles Rams on a short week, and his health should be a benefit. There should be a heavy dose of running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum which should boost his tackles. He will also be targeted against in the pass game as Matthew Stafford will avoid throwing it at Warner. Trust the veteran in this crucial NFC West divisional matchup.
Washington Commanders vs. New Orleans Saints, Sunday 1:00 PM ET
- Jeremy Chinn, Defensive Back - WAS
Jeremy Chin has been mentioned in the waiver wire portion of this article, and he is being mentioned in the matches to take advantage of too. The Washington Commanders are coming off of a bye week and Chinn could have been dropped by fantasy football managers.
He is coming off of two lackluster performances prior to the bye week and will be an advantage to have during the fantasy football playoffs. Despite the lack of statistics Chinn has played 100% of the defensive snaps over the last five weeks, and should continue to do so.
The Commanders play the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, and Atlanta Falcons weeks 14-17. Chinn should have a great tackling floor with a chance for a big play against two NFC South opponents with quarterbacks who are prone to turn it over. He has four weeks with double digit tackles, including against Philadelphia who the Commanders play week 16. Pick him up and put him in your lineups.
