Raiders signed LB Devin White, formerly of the Texans, to a one-year contract.
White had a strange season in 2024, first signing with the Eagles in the offseason and eventually being released in-season, having played zero snaps. He was then signed by the Texans, for whom he appeared in seven games. White spent the five prior seasons playing for the team that drafted him: the Buccaneers. His signing with the Raiders reunites White with GM John Spytek, who served as the Buccaneers’ director of player personnel when White was drafted. White totaled 16 tackles and four quarterback pressures last year.

White was released by the Eagles in early October after missing time with an ankle issue and leaving the team for “personal reasons.” A former star defender for the Bucs, White latches on with a Texans defense graded by PFF as the NFL’s 13th best unit. White last season had 83 tackles over 13 games with Tampa.

White had been working through an ankle injury early in the season, but had taken to listing him on the report under “personal reasons” the last few weeks. White is only 26, and in theory should be able to find a job somewhere in the league if he’s healthy and able. He notched 83 tackles in 13 starts for the Bucs in 2023.

White won’t make the flight to Brazil for the team’s Friday night matchup against Green Bay. A former first round pick, White in March was signed to a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million.
