Best Fantasy Football Stashes Ahead Of Week 15: Backups, Waiver Wire, More
This is it ladies and gentlemen. Fantasy football playoffs. We are focusing on the matchups right in front of us.
The time for stashing hopes and dreams is largely over - we are now stashing players with only these three weeks in mind. And self-preservation via handcuff players is key.
Best Fantasy Football Stashes For Week 15
We are ideally going to look at players that are rostered in less than 50% of leagues on Yahoo, ESPN or Sleeper Fantasy as those are the guys that are generally actually available.
We know there are leagues of varying sizes and depths, so we’ll try to cover our bases. And we’ll obviously let you know what it is that makes these players the best fantasy football stashes in Week 15. So, let’s dive in!
NFL Week 15 Quarterback Stashes
Anthony Richardson - Indianapolis Colts, Yahoo: 55% | ESPN: 52% | Sleeper: 17%
He has a tough matchup this week vs. Denver. So we’d rather not start him. But, in single QB leagues, there really aren’t many QBs worth stashing. He’s got mobile upside and his matchup against the Giants championship week could pay off big. The honorable mention stashes are really just for superflex or two QB leagues where EVERYONE is rostered.
- Honorable Mention: Desmond Ridder, Justin Fields, Trey Lance, Malik Willis
NFL Week 15 Running Back Stashes
Kimani Vidal - Los Angeles Chargers, Yahoo: 13% | ESPN: 15% | Sleeper: 19%
This one has to take precedence over the others because he could carve out a bigger role WITHOUT injury. The others are more handcuffs. Gus Edwards has not looked good and Vidal is the explosive, fun rookie. He’s already worked out a pass down job but more carries could be in the cards for him if he continues to look better than Gus.
Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams, Yahoo: 14%| ESPN: 14% | Sleeper: 20%
This strategy has not changed all year but it also hasn’t hit because Kyren Williams has been healthy. If Kyren goes down, Corum immediately becomes the top option. Sean McVay loves using one RB.
Trey Benson - Arizona Cardinals Yahoo: 27% | ESPN: 28% | Sleeper: 35%
We’ve written this one in here for virtually the entire season. And now the time is almost here. If anything happens to James Conner, the Cardinals have a great schedule for running the football in fantasy playoffs. Patriots, Panthers, Rams.
- Honorable Mentions: Keaton Mitchell, Ray Davis, Braelon Allen, Jaylen Wright, Khalil Herbert
NFL Week 15 Wide Receiver Stashes
Hollywood Brown - Kansas City Chiefs, Yahoo: 19% | ESPN: 22% | Sleeper: 23%
Apparently Hollywood Brown is actually close to returning. He could play in Week 16 or 17. It’s a deep league long shot but, if you have an empty IR spot, it’s not crazy to throw him in there. I wouldn’t do it unless you have that IR spot.
Ricky Pearsall - San Francisco 49ers, Yahoo: 23%| ESPN: 21% | Sleeper: 38%
When Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel were healthy, Jauan Jennings was the part-time slot guy. And, when one of them was hurt, he’d come in and play a full-time role. That’s how he had the three-touchdown game. And it’s how he got his current role with Aiyuk out.
Ricky Pearsall is now in that Jennings role which means he’s one injury away from a top spot. This offense uses the fullback so the targets end up being highly consolidated among the top two pass-catchers. Just think about how good Jennings has been.
- Honorable Mentions: Jalen McMillan, DeVaughn Vele, Dontayvion Wicks, Ja'Lynn Polk, Kevin Austin
NFL Week 15 Tight End Stashes
*For those looking for it, our updated Yin & Yang Tight End chart is in our Week 15 Waiver Wire Article
Stone Smartt - Los Angeles Chargers, Yahoo: 0% | ESPN: 0% | Sleeper: 0%
Smartt could have the starting gig as long as Will Dissly is out. And, if Ladd McConkey remains out, that gig is even better. You might even want to just do this to block your opponent.
Noah Gray - Kansas City Chiefs, Yahoo: 21% | ESPN: 6% | Sleeper: 25%
This one serves a dual purpose. Given his usage lately, you could start him in a pinch. But the bigger upside comes if something were to happen to Travis Kelce. When he started Week One last year with Kelce out, he had essentially a full-time role.
- Honorable Mentions: Ben Sinnott, Elijah Higgins
Why Do We Stash?
Obviously, it would be nice if our entire roster was just chock full of stars. Maybe your lineup is (some of my dynasty leagues certainly are). But, for most of us, there will be holes. That’s why we highlight the Top Waiver Wire Adds each week as well as the Best Streamers to get you by.
The best fantasy football stashes though? These are the guys that win you the title. That came out of the woodworks down the stretch like rookie Odell Beckham. or Amon-Ra St. Brown. And it’s our job to find them BEFORE they break out!
