We've got a ten-game main/classic slate to look forward to tonight! With no NFL or CFB tonight, let's have some fun in the MLB.

I've added my favorite MLB DFS picks and used various MLB DFS projections to put together today's September 17th playbook for DraftKings and FanDuel.

Today's MLB DFS Lineup Optimizer & Generator

You can be creative with today's MLB DFS picks. The MLB projections all over the place. Some of the lowest-cost pitchers on the slate could have gems.

Here is a mock lineup optimizer using my MLB DFS projections below:

I can include Aaron Judge, Yordan Alvarez, and Lawrence Butler in the lineup by playing Montgomery with Ragans. I'm also super high on Luken Baker and Masyn Wynn and think Thomas Saggese and Eric Wagaman are quality salary savers.

MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies

Zack Wheeler is one of the best MLB DFS picks on the slate. The veteran righty has struck out more than 30% of batters over the last month. He's also held his previous 122 batters to a .129 ISO and wOBA of .242 with only 4.9% of walks.

He'll battle a Brewers lineup with five batters hitting an ISO of no better than a .094 against righties over the last 30 days. Wheeler should be excellent when facing the bottom of the order.

Cole Ragans, Kansas City Royals

The Royals lefty, Cole Ragans, has held his last 77 righties to a .108 ISO and wOBA of .250. He's also struck out 39% of his previous 77 righties. Tonight, he'll go up against a Tigers lineup that has struck out 34.1% of the time against lefties.

In that projected lineup, the Tigers have seven targets with a strikeout rate of at least 25%. In addition, the Tigers should have more righties than lefties against Ragans. That only helps Ragans. Per the MLB DFS projections, Ragans should have a monster night on the mound against the lowly Tigers.

Tylor Megill, New York Mets

If you're looking for a low-tier option, consider Tyler Megill as one of your MLB DFS picks. Megill has struck out 29% of batters over the last 30 days. He's also held his last 62 batters to a .056 ISO and wOBA of .236 with just 6.5% of walks. He's had some issues with lefties, giving up a wOBA of .341 with low grounders.

But he'll face a Nationals projected lineup that has combined to hit just a .148 ISO and wOBA of .294 over the last month. The lineup really isn't getting consistent power, and Megill has done a very good job limiting it since starting again for the Mets.

Jordan Montgomery, Arizona Diamondbacks

You won't see this play anywhere else. Jordan Montgomery is the lowest-priced pitcher on the DraftKings slate. He's pitching in Colorado, which is ultimately why he's this low. But c'mon, there's value here.

The lefty Montgomery has held his last 70 righties to a .167 ISO and wOBA of .336. He's also limited walks to 1.4% against righties. In addition, righties have hit just 22% of fly balls, with 47.5% of ground balls. Montgomery can give you solid work today, especially with a matchup against a Rockies projected lineup that has hit a .069 ISO and wOBA of .246 with 30.9% of strikeouts against lefties.

There won't be many people using Montgomery. But the value is there, even if he goes five innings. Plugging him in allows you to play the best of the best hitters on the slate.

MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Hitters

MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Hitters

Lawrence Butler, OF, Oakland Athletics

I don't usually spotlight a lefty-on-lefty matchup. But here's one you'll want to look at for one of your MLB DFS picks. Lawrence Butler has socked a .300 ISO and wOBA of .424 against his last 31 lefties. Meanwhile, he'll take on lefty Jordan Wicks of the Cubs, who has allowed a .240 ISO and wOBA of .446 to his previous 28 lefties.

Wicks has also struck out below 18% of lefties and has allowed 55% of hard contact with a 10% barrel percentage to lefties. Butler has real potential against Wicks as a lefty against a lefty.

Masyn Winn, SS, Luken Baker, 1B, St. Louis Cardinals

The Pirates will throw left-hander Bailey Falter tonight. He's allowed a .180 ISO and wOBA of .332 to his last 71 righties. Those 71 righties have also hit 32.1% of line drives and 47.2% of hard contact. Beyond that, they've struck out below 17% of the time against Falter in the last month.

Mason Wynn should lead off for the Cardinals. The young shortstop has hit a .294 ISO and wOBA of .395 against his last 18 lefties. He's also earned a BABIP of .364 against lefties, including 25% of line drives and 41.7% of hard contact. Batting behind Winn will likely be Luken Baker. Baker has hit a .600 ISO and wOBA of .511 with only 7.1% of strikeouts against lefties over the last 14 plate appearances.

He's hit more fly balls than ground balls and has added a 100% hard contact rate against lefties throughout that time. Despite his low MLB DFS projections in many areas, you'll want him on your roster.

Yordan Alvarez, OF, Jon Singleton, 1B, Jayson Heyward, OF, Kyle Tucker, OF, Houston Astros

There are a ton of really great pitchers on today's slate. Therefore, finding much value with the hitters on this 10-game slate is hard. But Yordan Alvarez and the other lefties stand out to me, even with a matchup against Michael King and the Padres. King has allowed a .182 ISO and wOBA of .321 against his last 63 lefties. He's also given up an 11.9% barrel percentage and has only struck out 20.6% of lefties in the previous month.

Beyond that, King has allowed more than 26% of line drives and more than 28% of fly balls to lefties in that time. On the other hand, Yordan Alvarez has slugged a .262 ISO and wOBA of .393 against his last 71 righties. Kyle Tucker has contributed a .364 ISO and wOBA of .496 against his last 17 righties.

Further down the lineup, Jon Singleton has contributed a .306 ISO and wOBA of .403 against righties in the last 30 days, and Jayson Heyward has recorded a .526 ISO and wOBA of .591 against his last 21 righties. These lefties still have potential against King.
