While tonight's MLB slate includes 15 games, only 10 of those games will be featured on the main slate. Therefore, we'll look at those ten games and provide analysis and recommendations for your DFS lineups.

MLB Weather Today, 6/4

Chicago White Sox vs. Chicago Cubs

  • It sounds like the batch of showers will finish before the start of tonight's game. But this is the one questionable game on the slate regarding weather.

MLB DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

Make sure to include a couple of stacks between the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, and Cincinnati Reds. Those are the major hitting spots you'll want to attack. Meanwhile, I've added four core pitchers below.

If you're looking to play anyone in the Chicago game, check back for weather updates regularly before lineups lock. Shota Imanaga and the Cubs bats are another great angle, but I'd be a bit more cautious with the rain in Chicago.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Shota Imanaga, Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs game is the lone game on this ten-game main slate that could have a delay of some sort. But as of now, it looks like the Cubs and White Sox will get the game in at their regularly scheduled time. Keep checking back to the weather before your lineup locks.

If all looks good, Imanaga would be a great fantasy play. He's struck out 25.5% of batters and has held hitters to a .090 ISO and wOBA of .249.

Tonight, he'll face a White Sox lineup that has just a .154 ISO and wOBA of .301 against righties over the last 30 days. The lineup also has six batters striking out at least 23.5% of the time and has walked only 6.3% of the time. It should be a cakewalk for Imanaga tonight.

Jack Flaherty, Detroit Tigers

While Jack Flaherty wouldn't be my first choice, he's undoubtedly a great option. Flaherty has struck out 34% of batters this season and has limited opponents to a 3.8% walk rate. With a low walk rate, he's been able to hold teams to a .290 wOBA, which is also above average. That said, the Texas Rangers haven't struck out at a high rate against righties over the last 30 days.

The projected lineup has struck out just 19.1% of the time, with only three real targets. Still, the Texas lineup has only three players with a high ISO against righties and four players with a wOBA of no better than .246 against righties in the last 30 days. Flaherty has a lot of potential to go deep in this game. If he can pitch through six innings, his strikeout rate will still be pretty high against Texas.

Max Fried, Atlanta Braves

The only downside to Max Fried is his inability to earn a high rate of strikeouts this season. The left-hander has tallied just 20.6% of strikeouts this year after adding 24.9% of strikeouts last season. However, Fried has still held his first 262 batters to a .067 ISO and wOBA of .252. He's even induced 63.2% of ground balls and has limited fly balls to 13%.

In addition to those numbers, he's facing a Red Sox projected lineup that has hit a .080 ISO and wOBA of .209 in the last 30 days against lefties. The lineup even has six batters striking out at least 23.8% of the time against lefties. Therefore, his strikeout rate could increase too. At the very least, I'd project Fried to have a quality start.

Patrick Sandoval, Los Angeles Angels

I'll say this right now. Patrick Sandoval won't get a high number of strikeouts. However, at the low-tier price, he could put together a quality start with six innings and fewer than three runs. After all, the Padres' projected lineup has struck out just 16.1% of the time against lefties in the last 30 days. However, the same lineup also hit a .091 ISO and wOBA of .293 against lefties in that same time frame.

Ultimately, Sandoval has kept his ISO numbers down and has delivered more than 46% of ground balls with only 24.4% of fly balls allowed. Sandoval is your best low-cost pitcher on tonight's slate if you want to add some massive bats to your lineup.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Anthony Volpe, SS, Aaron Judge, OF, Giancarlo Stanton, OF, New York Yankees

The Minnesota Twins will pitch Bailey Ober for tonight's ball game against the Yankees. Ober has earned a high rate of strikeouts this season. But he's also allowed a .254 ISO and wOBA of .354 to his first 125 righties this year. Righties have also hit 28.2% of line drives, 32.9% of fly balls, and just 28.2% of ground balls against Ober. If the Yankees put the ball in play, Ober's stat line likely won't look pretty.

Ultimately, Anthony Volpe has smashed a .222 ISO and wOBA of .397 against righties over the last month. He's a righty with just 15.8% of strikeouts in that time. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are more powerful righties. Judge has hit a .603 ISO and wOBA of .603 against righties over the last 30 days. He's been the hottest hitter in baseball in the previous month.

Finally, Giancarlo Stanton has slugged a .358 ISO and wOBA of .412 against righties. I wouldn't mind considering Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo as left-handed hitters against Ober. The righties match up a little better.

Ryan Mountcastle, 1B, Baltimore Orioles

It looks like Bowden Francis will start for the Blue Jays tonight. Francis is coming off the injured list for tonight's game. However, he's a righty who has already faced 68 batters this season. Francis has given up a .250 ISO and wOBA of .405 to those 68 batters. He's also allowed a .275 ISO and wOBA of .419, with only 32.1% of ground balls induced to righties.

Ryan Mountcastle is a righty who has smashed a .229 ISO and wOBA of .353 against righties in the last 30 days. His strikeout rate is below 21%, and he's hit 56.4% in hard contact with a .327 BABIP in the previous 30 days against righties.

Alex Bregman, 3B, Houston Astros

The Cardinals will throw Andre Pallante, a right-handed pitcher who has struggled against righties to begin the year. He's given up a .174 ISO and wOBA of .466 to 28 righties. He's also struck out only 10.7% of righties while giving up 17.9% of walks.

Meanwhile, Alex Bregman has smashed a .324 ISO and wOBA of .403 against right-handed batters over the last 30 days. Bregman has also struck out only 19% of the time in that period and has hit 33.3% of fly balls with a 61.7% hard contact rate.

Ultimately, Pallante has earned just 5.3% of swinging strikes against righties. With Bregman's walk rate against righties at just 5.1%, he's up there looking to put the ball in play. That'll work against Pallante.

Stuart Fairchild, OF, Spencer Steer, OF, Tyler Stephenson, C

The Cincinnati Reds right-handed batters should have a field day tonight. In Coors Field, against Ty Blach, he certainly doesn't get any better than this. Blach is a lefty who has allowed a .168 ISO and wOBA of .373 to his first 102 righties. He's also added just 11.8% of strikeouts against righties and has given up nearly 30% of line drives.

He'll have to face a full lineup of right-handed batters in the Cincinnati lineup. Stuart Fairchild has hit a .357 ISO and wOBA of .501 against his last 34 lefties. Meanwhile, Spencer Steer has hit a .278 ISO and wOBA of .390 against his last 23 lefties. Finally, Tyler Stephenson has smoked a .238 ISO and wOBA of .417 against lefties in his last 23 plate appearances against lefties.

None of these righties have struck out more than 17.6% of the time against lefties in the last 30 days, either.
