Happy Memorial Day! Before diving into today's MLB DFS picks, I want to take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country on this Memorial Day.

I hope everyone enjoys this special day and that whatever you are doing, you can also enjoy some baseball today. To help you enjoy baseball as much as possible today we have another great playbook in store to help build some more winning MLB DFS lineups!

Today, we have an 8-game main slate this afternoon on DraftKings starting at 1:05 PM ET, but then FanDuel is doing a 7-game main slate afternoon starting at 4:10 PM ET. The playbook will be focused on the DraftKings slate, but some games overlap, and you can check out the cheat sheet below for more FanDuel plays as well.  With an early slate today, make sure to get those lineups set in plenty of time, and with that said, let’s not waste any more time and jump into today’s favorite plays of the day!

MLB Weather Today, 5/27

There are some thunderstorms around Camden Yards this afternoon. I think this one still plays, but there could be some delays.

Similar to Baltimore, some storms could cause delays during this game, but I'd be surprised if it didn't play.

This game worries me the most. The weather really doesn't look good, and this one doesn't start until later. I would probably avoid this game.

MLB DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

We have a slate today without many top-end pitchers, leaving us trying to find some value. Luckily, there are still some great options I really like. With fewer top-end pitchers, there should be some more money to spend on the offensive side today, which can be fun.

Outside of my favorite options, I will also give an honorable mention today to Charlie Morton, Chris Bassitt, and Austin Gomber as potential pitching options this afternoon.

On the offensive side, some of my favorite lineups to target today include the Toronto Blue Jays, Colorado Rockies, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Baltimore Orioles

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Joe Ryan, Minnesota Twins

Joe Ryan is the clear best pitcher on today’s slate. Coming off 7 scoreless innings against the Washington Nationals with 6 strikeouts, he has had a very solid season so far, still holding a sub-1 WHIP (0.98) through his first 60 innings.

The Kansas City Royals don’t strike out much against right-handers, but they don’t do a lot of damage either. Ryan still holds plenty of upside in this matchup, and with a slate devoid of top-end pitchers, I think it is worth trying to pay up for Joe Ryan in this spot.

Alec Marsh, Kansas City Royals

If you aren’t paying up for Joe Ryan, I like pivoting to the other side of this matchup with Alec Marsh. Obviously, having to face Joe Ryan hurts his win potential a little, but the Twins offense isn’t scary either, and they strike out far more than the Royals do.

Marsh has looked good through his last 3 starts, striking out 19 batters in 16.1 innings with a 2.76 ERA. I like Marsh's strikeout potential in this matchup with the Twins and think he is a great place to pivot if you need to save some money.

Justin Steele, Chicago Cubs

Whether I am using Joe Ryan or Alec Marsh as my first starter, Justin Steele will almost certainly round out my rotation, taking my second pitching spot. The Brewers have been a very solid offense, but they scare me far worse against right-handers, so I am willing to go after them with Steele today.

The results from Steele haven’t been great so far but he has still been ramping up from spending most of the beginning of the season on the IL. He still has such great upside and wonderful strikeout stuff. We have still seen some strikeouts with 7 and 5 in his last two outings but he has been giving up too many runs. I think he continues to improve, and at this price, I am 100% taking the discount for a guy who was arguably a top-10 pitcher in baseball last season.

*Note: Will Be Updated As Official Starting Lineups Are Released

Vladimir Guerrero, 1B Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays are coming off a tough loss against the Detroit Tigers, scoring 11 runs but not being able to hold on for the win. At least their offense is getting things going. Vladdy has been red-hot recently, even before yesterday's 4-hit game. Over his last nine games, he has 16 hits and has looked locked in at the plate.

Against Nick Nastrini and the White Sox today, the Blue Jays shouldn’t have any issue putting up a fair number of runs once again. I expect Vlad to continue this hot streak and likely give us yet another multi-hit day.

Ozzie Albies, 2B Atlanta Braves

Mitchell Parker is coming off a baseline-quality start against the Minnesota Twins and continues to get by with decent outings but nothing spectacular. I think that comes to an end today against the Atlanta Braves, and I will be shocked if he holds them to 3 earned runs, something he has managed in all 7 starts this season.

Ozzie Albies crushes lefties and should be able to continue that today in this matchup. Even with the devastating loss of Ronald Acuna, who is now out for the season after tearing his ACL during yesterday’s game, that doesn’t keep me from wanting to stack Braves today, and with Acuna out, that leaves Albies as arguably their best hitter.

Ryan McMahon, 3B Colorado Rockies

Listen, Jose Ramirez has been absurd recently, and in a good matchup in Colorado he is obviously a great option, but he costs $6,400 today on DraftKings. If you can afford that and fit J-Ram in your lineup, do it, but if not, Ryan McMahon provides a great pivot option on the other side of this game.

McMahon homered once again yesterday, giving him 4 homers over his last 7 games. I don’t trust Xzavion Curry at all, and where there aren’t many days where I am targeting the Rockies lineup, getting to face Curry at home is one of the times I am willing to do so.

Daulton Varsho, OF Toronto Blue Jays

Daulton Varsho was a staple of mine early in the season for quite a while. I had backed off on using him for a while as he had cooled down, but he is heating back up again. As I already said, I really like the Blue Jays in this spot and like Varsho to continue this hot streak.

Varsho homered once again yesterday, giving him 3 homers over his last 6 games. He is definitely going to be a part of any Blue Jays stack I put together today against Nastrini.
