2025 Player Outlook

Injuries limited to Lodolo to just 115.1 IP (21 GS) last season, and he posted a 4.76 ERA (3.95 FIP) and 1.20 WHIP. It was hard for Lodolo to establish a rhythm, but his 106 Stuff+ and 3.30 K/BB ratio was solid, and he had a six-start stretch from the end of May through June where he posted a 2.57 ERA with a 5-1 record across six starts. He does a good job of keeping the ball in the park, and the biggest issue with Lodolo in 2025 is durability. If he's healthy, he's got a rotation spot with Cincy, and he can be a very intriguing arm for fantasy. He can help your ratios, as he doesn't really walk guys, while posting over one strikeout per inning. Of course, he's a risky target, as injuries have been present for him in his young career, and last year's 21 starts and 115.1 IP were both career highs.

Nick Lodolo surrendered seven runs — six earned — and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Nationals.

It was three runs through five, but since his pitch count was still in decent shape, manager Terry Francona sent him back out to face the top of the order for a fourth time in the sixth and kept him in even after he gave up a three-run homer to Amed Rosario. It was pretty obviously a bad call in a winnable game for the Reds; they were tied 3-3 after five before losing 11-6. Lodolo dropped to 3-3 with a 3.27 ERA ahead of a start in Atlanta next week.

Nick Lodolo limited the Rockies to two hits over seven scoreless innings in the Reds’ 8-1 victory Sunday.

Lodolo had a no-hitter going until Jordan Beck was credited with an infield single in the bottom of the sixth. Elly De La Cruz made the tough play initially, but his throw pulled Spencer Steer off the bag. The other hit in the seventh was a roller down the third base line that Noelvi Marte hoped would go foul but wound up hitting the bag. The Reds probably didn’t mind, though, as they weren’t going to want Lodolo throwing the 110+ pitches it likely would have taken to complete a no-hitter. He struck out nine and walked one on the day. Lodolo is 3-2 with a 2.25 ERA, and he should remain one of the NL’s top lefties for as long as his body holds up. He’ll face the Nationals next.

Lodolo gave up seven hits, including a third-inning solo shot to Eric Wagaman, but managed to avoid letting things spiral out of control. He finished with four strikeouts and only issued a pair of walks. The -year-old southpaw generated 11 swinging strikes, including seven on his curveball, and finished with a respectable 28 percent CSW. He’ll bring a strong 2.79 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 18/4 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings (five starts) into a challenging road matchup on Sunday against the Rockies at high-octane Coors Field.
