Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

- Brandon Pfaadt, Arizona Diamondbacks - 7.5 (+130)
- Luis Gil, New York Yankees - 6.5 (-130)
- Freddy Peralta, Milwaukee Brewers - 6.5 (+120)
Best Odds For A Win

- Pablo Lopez, Minnesota Twins (+120)
- Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves (+145)
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves
The discounts on some of the arms on this slate are worth exploring, but Chris Sale is as good as anyone in the game and has been all year long. There’s a reason why his K prop on sportsbooks is a slate-high 8.5. This game has a 6.5 implied game total and despite the Giants' elite numbers over the last month against southpaws, they’ve struck out at a 27.9% clip. Sale’s strikeouts keep him at the front of our minds.
Blake Snell, San Francisco Giants
Since returning from the IL, Snell has been one of the best pitchers across the league. Over his last six starts, he has pitched to a 1.15 ERA, .096 BAA, and a 36% K-rate. He faces a Braves offense that hasn’t been the same this year as in years past. Over the last month, they have a 33.1% K-rate, which is the second-highest mark in the league. Snell’s price is too low for the upside he possesses.
Luis Gil, New York Yankees
This is the easiest pitching play of the day and likely the most popular by a wide margin. He’s -150 to outright pick up a win, he has a great 6.5 K prop and is facing possibly the worst team in baseball history. They rank 30th in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ and 29th in ISO against righties while notching the fourth-highest K-rate. Eat the chalk with Gil and move on to your SP2.
Brandon Pfaadt, Arizona Diamondbacks
There is a TON to like here about Brandon Pfaadt as he takes on the Colorado Rockies in Arizona. The Rockies strike out a LOT and are not nearly as good on the road as they are at home. Pfaadt has elite strikeout odds and is a -105 to outright win. This year, on the road, Colorado has a 26.9% K-rate and is 28th in OPS and wOBA against right-handed hurlers. Notably, a guy 22.2% K-rate has a line set at 7.5 in sportsbooks, the third-highest in the league.
Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
Highest Expected Run Totals
- New York Yankees - 5.9
- Arizona Diamondbacks - 5.2
- Boston Red Sox - 5.1
- Minnesota Twins - 4.8
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Aaron Judge & Juan Soto, New York Yankees
There are no if and's or buts about it; the Yankees are going to be extremely popular on Monday. It starts with the two guys that are both over 6K in Judge and Soto. They draw a matchup against Ky Bush who pitched worse than his numbers suggested. 6.75 ERA, .182 BABIP, and 8.45 xFIP. Judge and Soto have been amongst the best players in baseball all year long and over the last month, both guys have an OPS north of 1.000 against southpaws.
Vladimir Guerrero, Toronto Blue Jays
This guy has been incredible for an extended period, and he's crushed right-handed pitching, which is what Davis Daniel struggles with. Righties are batting .354 with a .404 wOBA, and 1.7 HR/9 against Davis Daniel this year. Guerrero over the last month is batting .427 with a 1.300 OPS, and .535 wOBA against right-handers.
Corey Seager, Nathaniel Lowe, Texas Rangers
There is big-time interest here in Rangers lefties. Seager has been incredible lately belting six homers over his last 10 bombs and Lowe has had back-to-back big days. Over the last month, Seager has a 1.000+ OPS and Lowe is at .800+. Against Brayan Bello this year, lefties have 1.96 HR/9, .370 wOBA, an elevated flyball rate, and a subdued K-rate.
Corbin Carroll, Jake McCarthy, Joc Pederson, Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks are one of the more appealing teams of the day considering how good they've been lately. Over the last 30 days, all three of these players have at least a 1.100 OPS or better, .320+ ISO, and .450 wOBA against righties. The Diamondbacks have 5.2 implied runs and are facing a pitcher who's pitched one career inning past Double-A.
Giancarlo Stanton, New York Yankees
I love using Giancarlo Stanton when he's streaking and he's now homered in back-to-back games, hits in four straight, and six of seven overall. The Yankees have the best overall team total on the board by a wide margin and Stanton is an elite GPP option.
Jackson Merrill, David Peralta, San Diego Padres
The Padres are REALLY interesting tonight despite how bad the ballpark is here. The Pirates are throwing Jake Woodford, and he hasn't been great in any season of his career and this year has been no exception. Merrill's been amazing of late and over the last month, he's hit .313 AVG, .672 SLG%, .359 ISO, and .413 wOBA against righties. Peralta has been really good himself and he's been cheap too. He's hitting .298, .881 OPS, .228 ISO, and .378 wOBA.
Gleyber Torres, New York Yankees
Over the last month against left-handed pitching, Gleyber Torres has been surprisingly good considering how disappointing this season has been. Torres has a .636 SLG%, 1.059 OPS, .318 ISO, and .447 wOBA against lefties over the last month as previously mentioned.
Joey Ortiz, Milwaukee Brewers
Over the last month, the version we saw pre-injured Joey Ortiz has slowly crept back into the picture. Over that span, he has a .901 OPS, .304 ISO, and .385 ISO against left-handed pitching. Through three starts, righties are batting .310 with a .351 wOBA against Clayton Kershaw.
Josh Bell, Geraldo Perdomo, Arizona Diamondbacks
I love the price tags of both Bell and Perdomo and if Ketel Marte isn't in the lineup, we could potentially see Perdomo lead off again like he did on Sunday. Over the last 10 games, he's hit .382 with an OPS over 1.000. Bell has a 1.137 OPS over the last 30 days against right-handed pitching and has a .429 ISO.

Player News
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that Zach Eflin (lat) is likely to return and start Sunday against the Angels
It was assumed that Eflin would be back this weekend, but now we have a concrete date. The 31-year-old may not be at full strength after throwing fewer than 60 pitches in his rehab start, but the Orioles feel confident enough to have the right-hander back on the bump for the series finale against the Angels.
Riley Greene is not in the lineup for the first game of a doubleheader against the Rockies on Thursday.
Greene will get a break and likely return to the lineup for the second game of the twin-billing. Zach McKinstry will get the start in left field while Greene rests.
Yu Darvish (elbow) is facing live hitters on Thursday.
Darvish has been throwing bullpen sessions and traveled to the team’s complex in Arizona to face live hitters on Thursday. It will be his first time facing live batters since a spring training appearance on March 13th. He will likely need a few sessions like this before the Padres can map out a rehab appearance timeline for him.
Adael Amador is starting at second base and batting ninth for the Rockies on Thursday.
Amador has now started three of the last four games at second base for the Rockies. He’s gone just 7-for-43 this season with 15 strikeouts in 16 games. He’s just 22 years old, so there is plenty of time for him to adjust to the MLB level, but he doesn’t need to be on redraft radars right now.
Jackson Holliday is playing second base and batting second for the Orioles on Thursday against the Twins.
With Cedric Mullins sitting out on Thursday, Gunnar Henderson will bat lead off, and Holliday will jump up from sixth in the order to second. Holliday is riding a hot streak right now, and the Orioles are taking advantage. This is likely just a one-game sample with no Mullins or Adley Rutschman in the lineup, but Rutschman has been struggling, so perhaps it could become a more permanent spot in the lineup for Holliday moving forward.
Endy Rodriguez (finger) had his splint removed this week.
Rodriguez suffered a lacerated right index finger on April 14th. Now that he is out of his splint, he “is playing catch and doing a slightly modified swing.” Once he can progress to taking full swings, we’ll have a better sense of the timeline for his return.
