Fantasy Baseball Injury Report - Week 26: Tyler Glasnow & Francisco Lindor

As the regular season nears its end, the MLB injury report will start to be full of injuries that are “season-ending.” However, that phrase carries a different connotation than it does when that term pops up in the summer months.
Nonetheless, your fantasy baseball teams may be competing for a title this week or next, or you’re scratching for every last point in your season long roto format, so be sure to check out this week’s fantasy baseball injury report.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will likely be without Tyler Glasnow the rest of the way, but they haven’t yet closed the door on future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw. The Mets are hoping for the best when it comes to MVP candidate Francisco Lindor’s back issue, and the Braves will gladly welcome back Ozzie Albies this week or next.

As you get ready to set your fantasy baseball lineups for the week ahead, be sure to check out the fantasy baseball injury report below. Later this week, Matt Selz and I will break down some more waiver wire pickups and weekend streamers on Caught Stealing, likely touching on the MLB injury report, so tune in there, too!

MLB Injury Report - Starting Pitchers
Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Dodgers - Elbow
The belief is that Glasnow’s 2024 season is over. He logged a career high 134 innings this year, posting a 9-6 record with a 3.49 ERA and 0.95 WHIP.
Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers - Toe
While he’s no stranger to the MLB injury report, the Dodgers don’t expect to have Kershaw back during the regular season, but they have yet to close the door on a possible return during the postseason. After getting a late start to the year, Kershaw logged just seven starts for the Dodgers during the regular season, posting a 4.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP.
Justin Steele, Chicago Cubs - Forearm
There’s a possibility that Steele is activated at some point this week. Fangraphs has Steele as the projected starter for Friday’s contest against the Nationals.
Ryne Nelson, Arizona Diamondbacks - Shoulder
Nelson reported some shoulder discomfort during a side session, and the team placed him on the IL over the weekend. In the video below, head to the 0:53 mark and he talks about Nelson’s injury.
Tanner Houck, Boston Red Sox - Shoulder
Houck was scratched from his Friday start due to shoulder fatigue. Houck has logged a career high 169.2 innings pitched this year, and prior to 2024, his previous career high was the 106 IP he logged last year. That’s quite the jump!

MLB Injury Report - Hitters
Francisco Lindor, New York Mets - Back
After a first inning single, Lindor’s back flared up, and he was removed from the game. He’ll head for an MRI today.
CJ Abrams, Washington Nationals - Shoulder
Abrams has missed the team’s last three games due to stiffness in his shoulder. Consider him day-to-day at this point, but we’ll keep you updated here in the fantasy baseball injury report.
Ozzie Albies, Atlanta Braves - Wrist
The belief is that Albies will be activated within the week, but it’s been reported he’ll only hit right-handed. When hitting right-handed this year, Albies has an impressive slash line, to the tune of a .343/.356/.556 mark. For his career, he has just 14 plate appearances as a righty, facing a right-handed pitcher, so the majority of his damage as a right-handed hitter has come against southpaws.
Tyler Fitzgerald, San Francisco Giants - Back
An MRI showed there’s nothing structurally wrong with Fitzgerald’s back, but he’s missed the team’s last couple of games. Consider him day-to-day.
Starling Marte, New York Mets - Forearm
After being hit by a pitch on Saturday, Marte was not in the starting lineup on Sunday.
Bo Bichette, Toronto Blue Jays - Calf
Barring any unforeseen setbacks or issues, Bichette will be activated from the IL in the beginning part of this week, perhaps as early as Tuesday.
Steven Kwan, Cleveland Guardians - Back
After being scratched on Friday, Kwan missed the rest of the team’s series against the Rays. Consider him day-to-day.
Alec Bohm, Philadelphia Phillies - Hand
After missing the last 14 games, Bohm was activated from the IL and should return to his everyday role for Philadelphia.
Christopher Morel, Tampa Bay Rays - Achilles
After being removed from the game early on Friday, Morel was out of the starting lineup the next two games with Achilles discomfort. He’s day-to-day at this point.
Matt McLain, Cincinnati Reds - Shoulder
The expectation at this point for McLain is that we won’t appear in the regular season for the Reds.

Player News
Daulton Varsho picked up three hits, three RBI and a homer in a win over the Angels on Thursday.
Varsho has only played in seven games this year, but they’ve been seven good ones. He’s homered three times already, and his slugging percentage is a remarkable — and entirely unsustainable — .727 over 22 at-bats. Varsho has been a mediocre offensive player in his two seasons with the Blue Jays, but it’s possible at the age of 28 he’s having a breakout campaign. Far from a guarantee, but possible.
Taylor Ward hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday.
Ward, 31, gave the Angels a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer off Chris Bassitt in the first inning. He’s now gone deep in two of his last three games, and it ‘improves’ his slash to .181/.224/.391. Ward has been one of the most hot/cold players players in the sport over the last few years, so fantasy managers who can afford to make some roster moves may want to look at Ward while the going is good.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. picked up three hits and scored twice in an 8-5 win over the Angels on Thursday.
Guerrero also drew a walk. It gives the first baseman multiple hits in back-to-back games, and it’s the third time in May that he’s reached that mark. That’s helped raise his average from .268 to .295, and the only thing fantasy managers can be disappointed with is his .432 slugging percentage. That number should continue to climb as the season unfolds, but Vladdy Jr. has had some inconsistent seasons when it comes to power production.
Chad Green picked up his first save of 2025 with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Thursday.
Green got the save after Jeff Hoffman worked in back-to-back games — and struggled — in the first two contests against the Angels. He struck out two and looked the part while needing just nine pitches to get through the inning. Hoffman should remain the closer, but Green is on his tail if the struggles were to continue.
Chris Bassitt allowed five runs — four earned — while working six-plus innings against the Angels on Thursday while picking up a win.
Bassitt allowed three runs over the first two innings on a pair of homers, but settled down over his next four frames. He came out to work the seventh, but ended up being charged for two more runs after leaving the contest. The 36-year-old veteran has forged a 3.35 ERA and outstanding 49/8 K/BB ratio over the first quarter of the season, but this wasn’t him at his best. He’ll get the Rays next week if the rotation order stays the same for Toronto.
José Soriano allowed three runs over five innings while not factoring in the decision Thursday against the Blue Jays.
Soriano left with a 4-3 lead, but it was erased quickly after his departure. The 26-year-old was not exactly dominant in his outing with eight hits allowed and four free passes, but he did strike out six to help balance things out a smidgen. Soriano takes an even ERA of 4.00 into a scheduled start against the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday. There should be better options for that one.
