Royals vs. Orioles Prediction, Game 1: Tuesday, October 1st

Of the four games on this MLB Postseason Wild Card slate, this was the game I kept coming back to with MLB predictions for several reasons. The most prevalent being that the Orioles have some big-time unfinished business after crashing out of the playoffs last season. 

Their team is stronger this season because of it and in Game 1 at home I expect them to bring the house against a Royals team that really struggled overall on the road. They will have Cole Ragans starting for them and he was awesome this season, but the Orioles have a good number of hitters that can challenge lefties. 

Corbin Burnes will start on the other side for Baltimore and the edge goes to him as well being a postseason veteran and finished September with an ERA 1.2 with 31 strikeouts in 30 innings. Given all of that, I am taking the Orioles on the money line in my MLB best bets today no matter the chalk as betting run lines in the playoffs isn’t normally a successful approach. 

Adding on to the money line bet, I talked about how Burnes finished the season on fire but his strikeout prop over on the sportsbooks sits at just 4.5! That’s some disrespect in my opinion as he’s a 6+ strikeout ace almost every time he’s on the mound and a lot of these Royals players will be making their postseason debuts so they could be nervous! Burnes goes over 4.5 strikeouts tonight, lock it in for today’s MLB predictions!
