It’s time to check in with the top MLB Best Bets and Props for today! The Monday MLB slate is offering 12 games for us to find our way to start the week off on the right foot, and that usually begins when we have a Patrick Corbin day.

The San Diego Padres will host the Washington Nationals, so not only will we be looking at the home team’s offense, but Matt Waldron on the mound as well, so long as the odds aren’t juiced too badly. He’s been incredible this season and very helpful with the strikeout props. We could also be looking at some hitting props with the Cincinnati Reds playing at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Milwaukee Brewers taking on Michael Lorenzen and the Texas Rangers

The Vegas odds and lines have had some movement overnight, so let’s dive in today.

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/24

Last week had some highs and lows like any other MLB betting week and while Friday’s MLB predictions split down the middle 50/50, we are on the right path towards recovering our bankroll and getting back into the black – or green, as some would say. Just have to be smart about it, find the value and take off.

The volume has been working for us and the swings haven’t been so bad that we can’t continue down this path, so let’s get it as I’m feeling a big day!

  • Friday’s Record: 6-6
  • Season Record: 254-234-5
  • Bankroll: -6.68 units

Braves vs. Cardinals Prediction: Monday, June 24

Interesting matchup on the mound today as rookie Spencer Schwellenbach faces a Cardinals team that has performed well over the past week but has no experience against him and is striking out 24.9-percent of the time. Schwellenbach had a tough outing against the Red Sox a few starts ago, but has since made the necessary adjustments, has allowed just three runs over his last 12 innings (two starts) and has gone over his strikeout prop today twice in four starts.

On the other side, while the Braves are coming off a tough series in New York, they get to face Lance Lynn who has been getting roughed up again lately and hasn’t recorded more than 16 outs in any of his last four starts. The Braves might not have huge success against him, but they are certainly capable of working the count and chasing him early, which is what we’ll bank on in our MLB predictions.

Rangers vs. Brewers Prediction: Monday, June 24

This game could and should go back and forth a little today. The big question on everyone’s mind is which Freddy Peralta will show up. He had been getting worked over in previous starts, but finally righted the ship in his last outing when he blanked the Angels for six innings.

But that’s the Angels and these Texas bats, particularly the lefties, should give him enough trouble that they can keep it close or even early in this game. With Michael Lorenzen on the mound, there should be some action for the Brewers, particularly Willy Adames and the righthanded bats. Where the books may have missed things is that Lorenzen has reverse splits and is allowing a .402 wOBA with nine of the 10 home runs allowed to righthanded hitters.

Couple that with Adames posting a .445 wOBA against righties while at home and you’ve got a nice prop to hit. You could go all in and play his O1.5 TB at +130 or even the sprinkle of a half-unit on him to go yard today, but my MLB best bets today will play it moderately safe and stick to his HRR, which still have solid odds.

Mariners vs. Rays Prediction: Monday, June 24

We have a couple of underrated righthanded pitchers squaring off in this one and both should fare well in this matchup. Bryan Woo is on the bump for Seattle against a Rays team that not only has a .297 wOBA against righties this year, but also a 23.6-percent strikeout rate. Not really interested in adding too much to our MLB picks here, but Woo should be able to keep the scoring down through the first five innings.

For the Rays, it’s Taj Bradley against a Mariners team that strikes out 27.7-percent of the time against righties and will, inevitably, do it again. They also have just a .301 wOBA against righties this season and if they’re not striking out, they’re mashing the ball into the dirt with more medium contact than anything. They’re just not getting the barrel on the ball still.

Phillies vs. Tigers Prediction: Monday, June 24

The Phillies have been the hottest-hitting team in MLB over the past week, posting a .414 wOBA with a .237 ISO. Their plate discipline has been impressive, and they should be locked in against Casey Mize who hasn’t struck out more than four batters in any of his last six starts. The under on his outs recorded was already too juiced and his strikeout prop line is likely headed south.

On the other side, we’ll back Aaron Nola to cap off our MLB predictions today as he had one hiccup a couple of starts ago but hasn’t allowed more than five hits or three runs in six of his last seven outings. The Tigers bats are struggling right now, posting a .290 wOBA with a 25.5-percent strikeout rate over the past week and that .285 BABIP tells us they’re struggling to even put the ball in play.
