DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts
With there being 12 games today there is going to be a lot of variety in linesups. Let's take a look at some of the matchups. Vegas likes Colorado, Edmonton, and the Rangers tonight to score the most goals, and there is certainly some good reason in those matchups with players like Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Nathan MacKinnon in action, but I would also keep an eye on the Golden Knights, the Flyers and the Canucks, as each of those teams will be facing teams who have given up more than 4.25 goals per game on average so far, with particular attention on the Jack Eichel and the Golden Knights as the Jets have given up close to 5 goals on average so far.
Recommended DFS Starting Goalies
Top Options for Saves
Arvid Soderblom vs Colorado Avalanche
Sergei Bobrovsky vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Igor Shesterkin vs Nashville Predators
Best Odds for a Win
Alexandar Georgiev vs Chicago Blackhawks
Linus Ullmark vs San Jose Sharks
Jake Oettinger vs Anaheim Ducks
Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups
Linus Ullmark, G, Boston Bruins
Ullmark has started this regular season right where he left off the last with a fantastic performance. The Bruins get a soft matchup today against the Sharks so I would look for Ullmark to turn in another solid performance.
Igor Shesterkin, G, New York Rangers
While Shesterkin hasn't played his best so far this season, he does have a good matchup against a Nashville team that has been putting 36.5 shots per game on goal, so there should be plenty of upside to be had here.
Jordan Binnington, G, St. Louis Blues
While it is hard to trust Binnington, he has played well so far this season, has only given up two goals and has saved nearly 97 percent of the shots he has faced. Binnington will also face an Arizona team that has scored just 1.33 goals per game on average in their first three games which makes this matchup even better.
Thatcher Demko, G, Vancouver Canucks
Demko has played well so far this season with a 0.953 save percentage across two games which includes a 42-save effort against the Flyers and a 22 save win against the Oilers, so I wouldn't be too worried about using him against Tampa Bay today.
Recommended DFS Skaters
Highest Expected Goal Totals
Colorado Avalanche vs Arvid Soderblom (4.4)
Edmonton Oilers vs Carter Hart (3.9)
New York Rangers vs Juuse Saros (3.9)
Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups
Leon Draisaitl, C, Edmonton Oilers
There really are no bad nights to use Draisaitl, you are often only left with the question of Draisaitl or McDavid. Draisaitl has more shots and more points so far, so I would look to ride the hotter hand.
Auston Matthews C, Toronto Maple Leafs
Not only does Matthews have six goals in his first three games, but he is also averaging seven shots per game. If you match this up with a game against regular season Sergei Bobrovsky and his sub-900 save percentage and you could have another big night for Matthews.
Evan Rodrigues W, Florida Panthers
Not only does Matthews have six goals in his first three games, but he is also averaging seven shots per game. If you match this up with a game against regular season Sergei Bobrovsky and his sub-900 save percentage and you could have another big night for Matthews.
Quinton Byfield W, Los Angeles Kings
Byfield is seeing 16 minutes per game and playing on the top line for the Kings. The production hasn't been there yet, but if he continues to get lots of quality ice time it will come and for now, you're getting him at a bargain price.
Roman Josi, D, Nashville Predators
It feels like Josi is due for a big game. He has back-to-back six-shot games, and he is far too skilled to only have one point in his first four games. It isn't the best matchup on paper, but Shesterkin has been very average so far this season so this might be a good night to pay up.
Justin Schultz, D, Seattle Kraken
Schultz has been getting the top poweplay time for the Kraken early, and he is value-priced, so if the Kraken can get their powerplay going, you could see Schultz far exceed his value today.
