Thatcher Demko (lower body) is expected to be ready for training camp.
“It’s a lower body,” said Canucks GM Patrik Allvin of Demko on Tuesday. “We don’t believe it will need a procedure, or be something that hinders him being ready for training camp.” He missed some time at the end of the season due to the ailment.
Thatcher Demko is out with an unspecified injury.
Demko is day-to-day, but of course there's not many days left in the season. Spencer Martin will get the start on Tuesday.
Thatcher Demko gave up five goals on 30 shots Saturday in a 6-3 loss to Calgary.
It was a costly loss for Demko as the Canucks playoff chances are on life-support with less than a week to go in the regular season. Demko is 33-22-7 this season with a 2.72 GAA and a .915 save percentage. It was the second straight game that Demko has given up five goals and after playing in 64 games, perhaps it has been too long a season for the 26-year-old.
Thatcher Demko is expected to start Saturday's game against the Calgary Flames.
Demko is looking to bounce back from a five-goal-allowed stinker against Minnesota. Overall this season, the 26-year-old netminder has posted a 33-21-7 record while working to a 2.68 GAA and .916 save percentage.
