Welcome to Friday's two-game NHL Slate. Jack Hughes and Jordan Kyrou are looking to lead their teams to victory and both players should be quite popular on this slate. We still need to dig deep and find value to allow us to pay up for both superstars, so let’s take a look at some options. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Friday, November 3rd, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's now take a closer look at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Buffalo Sabres Vs Samuel Ersson (3.8)

New Jersey Devils Vs. Jordan Binnington (3.7)

St. Louis Blues Vs. Akira Schmid (3.0)

Philadelphia Flyers Vs. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (2.9)

New Jersey Devils Vs. St. Louis Blues

Players to target: Jack Hughes, Tyler Toffoli, Jesper Bratt, Dougie Hamilton, Luke Hughes, Akira Schmid, Jordan Kyrou, Brayden Schenn, Torey Krug, Jordan Binnington

The Devils continue to be one of the top-scoring teams in the league (4.67 goals per game over the last two weeks) so expect their top players like Jack Hughes, and Tyler Toffoli to have a lot of usage. With that said though I would want to have some shares of Jack Hughes, Tyler Toffoli, and Timo Meier, as well as Jesper Bratt, who has eight points in his last four games. I wouldn't over-invest in Bratt's recent production however as he often doesn't shoot the puck a lot, and he is very reliant on the powerplay to generate points. For the Blues, they are difficult to predict where their scoring might come from. They have averaged less than 2 goals per game on the season, but they are well positioned getting the Devils on the back end of back-to-back games, so I would look to get some shares of Jordan Kyrou, Brayden Schenn, and Pavel Buchnevich. The Devils are also giving up nearly four goals per game over the last two weeks which also bodes well for getting a couple of Blues players into your lineups.

On the backend, Dougie Hamilton is always dangerous because of his willingness to shoot the puck, but it has been Luke Hughes who has taken over the top powerplay for New Jersey, and Luke Hughes has been producing in that spot with points in four straight games, and he had five shots in last nights game as well. You can look at trying to get some value from Torey Krug of the Blues, as he is on the top powerplay, but keep in mind Krug has zero points on the year, and St.Louis' powerplay has been among the worst in the league scoring on just 6.3 percent of their opportunities over the last couple of weeks. If you're looking for value I would keep in mind that Colton Parayko has blocked 11 shots in his last two games.

With the Devils playing on back-to-back nights look for Akira Schmid to get the start for them. Schmid hasn't played well so far this season, but the Devils are the favourites in this game on the road so he gives you a chance to get the win, but I wouldn't want to pay up for him. Jordan Binnington is expected to get the start for the Blues. Binnington after a good start to the season, has lost three straight starts, and he hasn't looked good in those games. He has posted sub-900 save percentages in all three games. Binnington can be difficult to trust, and these kinds of streaks paired with facing one of the best offences in the league would have me steering clear of him.

Philadelphia Flyers Vs. Buffalo Sabres

Players to target: Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Tage Thompson, Jeff Skinner, JJ Peterka, Rasmus Dahlin, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen

As predicted, Tage Thompson has started to score goals. He is a player who shoots too much, and has too much skill for his shooting percentage to be as low as it was, and while it is now up to 13.5 percent I would expect it to continue to rise. Alex Tuch is out tonight for the Sabres and it looks like it could be Brandon Biro who will play alongside Thompson, which could make him a really nice value play, especially with him scoring two goals against the Flyers a couple of nights ago. I also like the value you can get from JJ Peterka and Casey Mittelstadt today as well, as Thompson's line will continue to draw most of the defensive attention. For the Flyers, my interest is drawn to Owen Tippett and Travis Konecny. Both players have been shooting a lot, and Tippett is also known to block shots on occasion which can really boost his value.

Looking at the defencemen, Rasmus Dahlin is the likely target here due to the upside he presents offensively as one of the most skilled puck movers in the NHL today. Mattias Samuelsson could also be a nice value for the Sabres. He has blocked three shots or more in five straight games. The other player who offers some value today though is Travis Sanheim. Sanheim surprisingly enough has more points than Dahlin at this early stage of the season. He had two points when these two teams met on Wednesday, and he has points in three of his last five games.

In goal tonight, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is likely the goalie to target tonight. He has won three of his four starts, and he has looked great in his last two games. The Flyers are likely to go to Samuel Ersson today with Carter Hart out. Ersson hasn't played well so far this season, so I would avoid using him in this matchup.
