Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has been assigned to Rochester of the AHL.
Luukkonen has been sidelined since Jan. 11 due to a lower-body injury. He returned to the ice for practice on Tuesday with the Sabres prior to being sent down to the minors on Wednesday.

Luukkonen had been listed as week-to-week, but the Sabres have upgraded him to day-to-day. He's 2-5-2 with a 2.74 GAA and .917 save percentage in nine games this season.
The Buffalo Sabres have placed goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on their injured reserve list.

Luukkonen was injured in Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay. The Sabres also announced on Wednesday that Malcolm Subban was injured as well on Tuesday. He is considered to be month-to-month because of an upper-body injury. Dustin Tokarski is still week-to-week following his bout with COVID and Craig Anderson is month-to-month with an upper-body ailment. so Buffalo is in the midst of a goaltender crisis at the moment. Aaron Dell and Michael Houser as currently the team's only healthy netminders.
