Welcome to Saturday’s 7-game NHL Slate. This slate has some solid games with decent value and elite player options. The biggest favorites on the board are the Vegas Golden Knights who host the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Florida Panthers are traveling to New York to take on the Rangers in what could be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Thursday, December 21st, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's look closer at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Igor Shesterkin, G, New York Rangers

Igor Shesterkin is in a difficult matchup here against Florida, but I cannot ignore how good he’s been. Over his last 10 games, he holds a 6-3-1 record with a .938 SV% and 1.90 GAA while posting two shutouts. Florida shoots the puck more than any other team so he should see plenty of opportunities for saves in what could be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Jake Allen, G, New Jersey Devils

Jake Allen has looked like a completely different goaltender since being traded to New Jersey. He has only been there for four starts, but in those starts, he’s posted a 3-1 record with a .946 SV% and 1.76 GAA. Ottawa does have some offensive weapons but New Jersey is favored to win this game. Allen may be due for some regression, but  I’m not going to leave it to Ottawa to be the team that brings him back to Earth.

Andrei Vasilevskiy, G, Tampa Bay Lightning

Andrei Vasilevskiy may be having the worst statistical season of his career, but it’s difficult to ignore his talent at this price tag. Yes, he’s on the road in a difficult matchup, but he’s currently on a five-game win streak and Tampa has been giving him immense goal support. He’s not my first choice in net but his price tag is very appealing if he can limit the damage from the Kings.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Vegas Golden Knights Vs Daniil Tarasov (4.3)

New Jersey Devils Vs. Joonas Korpisalo (3.7)

Vancouver Canucks Vs. Jacob Markstrom (3.5)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Jack Eichel, C, Vegas Golden Knights

Jack Eichel is in a perfect spot here against a Columbus team that allows the 2nd most goals in the league at 3.63 per game. He’s found the net in three of his last five games while hitting the shot bonus three times. His shots alone give him a great fantasy floor but in a game we expect Vegas to dominate, he has ceiling potential and a multi-point game is on the table.

Brayden Point, C, Tampa Bay Lightning

Brayden Point has dominated in March, with nine goals and five assists in his last seven games. The matchup against the Kings may not be the best on paper, but he’s had multi-point games against the Rangers and Golden Knights in the last week. His linemate Nikita Kucherov leads the entire league in points this season and L.A. is going to have their hands full with how well this line has been playing.

Jack Hughes, W, New Jersey Devils

Playing any of the top six in New Jersey is solid today, but I’m focusing on their best player Jack Hughes. His production has not been the same since he was moved to wing on the second line, but he’s coming off a two-goal game and Ottawa has the worst save percentage in the league at an abysmal 885%. His price tag is discounted from where it was earlier in the season, but he has all the talent in the world and is in a great position to pay off his tag, and then some.

Anthony Duclair, W, Tampa Bay Lightning

Anthony Duclair has been on fire since being traded to Tampa Bay, scoring four goals with three assists in five games. He hasn’t found his way onto top power play, but he is skating the top line with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov. It’s not the best matchup but his price tag is more than agreeable and I feel comfortable pairing him with Point.

Shea Theodore, D, Vegas Golden Knights

Like Eichel, Shea Theodore is in a great spot here against Columbus. He’s on the top pairing and power play and has an assist in five of his last six games. He’s going to give you a handful of shots and blocks, even hitting the block bonus in two of his last five. We expect Vegas to dominate in this game and it makes a lot of sense to play Theodore in this game environment.

Mattias Ekholm, D, Edmonton Oilers

Mattias Ekholm is one of my favorite value defensemen on the slate. He’s collected seven points over his last four games while pouring in some shots and blocks. We know Toronto loves to shoot the puck so he’s in a good spot to find the block bonus, which he has done in two of his last three games. His two-goal, one-assist performance last game is not likely to be repeated, but skating the top pairing gives him shared ice time with Connor McDavid and you can’t ask for more at his price tag.
