Player News
Daniil Tarasov has signed a three-year, $3.15 million contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Tarasov had a 0-2-0 record, 2.40 GAA, and .937 save percentage in four games with Columbus in 2021-22. At the AHL level, he posted a 3.06 GAA and .893 save percentage in 11 games. He was set to become a restricted free agent this summer after completing his entry-level contract.
Daniil Tarasov underwent successful surgery on his right hip Wednesday.
Tarasov is expected to make a full recovery in six months. "Our first course of action following Daniil's injury was to try rehabilitation. Unfortunately, his hip did not progress like we had hoped and our medical team recently determined that surgery was the best course of action with his long-term career in mind," said Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. "Today's surgery went well and we expect him to make a full recovery and be ready to go for the start of next season." Tarasov was injured back on Jan. 1 against Carolina and he has been on the sidelines for the past 20 games.
Daniil Tarasov (lower body) has resumed skating, according to GM Jarmo Kekalainen.
Kekalainen added that the team should know more in about a week how to proceed with Tarasov's recovery. He has been out indefinitely with a lower-body injury since Jan. 1 when he was injured in a game against Carolina.
Daniil Tarasov (lower body) has been added to the injured reserve list.
Tarasov was injured during Saturday's contest, so this move can be retroactive to that date. He has an 0-2-0 record, 2.40 GAA, and .937 save percentage in four contests this season.
