Welcome to NFL Week 9 and another opportunity to win some money playing NFL DFS! We enjoyed some strong performances last week and had a lot of players throwing a ton of fantasy points around and were able to capitalize on a number of DFS bargains.

But it’s a new week, new pricing and the slate is wiped clean. We’ve got the best NFL DFS Week 9 Watch List ready to go!

Before we jump int the NFL Week 9 player pool and decide who we like for DraftKings and FanDuel contests, I do want to throw a few highlights out there from last week. Two of the situations we were watching the closest – Tampa Bay and Cleveland – both panned out for us in a major way.

I had built a number of lineups where I used Jalen McMillan and Cade Otton from the Bucs and Cedric Tillman and David Njoku from the Browns. The pricing was great for all four of them and if you were looking to stack either team in GPP tournaments, it worked out reasonably well, but I always put my cash lineups into GPP tournament and because I don’t stack in cash games, my lineup that featured Otton and Tillman was a big money-winner.

The McMillan/Njoku one, not so much. But again, a lesson that stacking is not required to win a GPP and this lineup of mine in the Beat Howard Bender DFS contests on RTSports.com shows you just that. OK, fine I finished in fourth but still turned a massive profit.

But enough about last week. Let’s take that money and invest it into NFL Week 9 DFS, so it’s onto the Watch List.

Best NFL DFS Week 9 Watch List For 2024

What made last week so good was the quality of the value picks. We just might be running into something similar this week as we just got reports that Stefon Diggs is out for the season with a torn ACL and Diontae Johnson was just traded from the Panthers to the Ravens. Johnson was going to be my first guess when looking at who the Texans were going to trade for, but Baltimore beat them to the punch.

Meanwhile, there’s also the question of which Panthers receivers, other than Xavier Legette, are worth a look. I’ve got a quick-hit video to check out with some thoughts for fantasy football, but this is DFS, so we’ll dive into the pricing of all players involved. Unfortunately, the Texans play Thursday night, so they’re not available for the main slate. But the Panthers might be.

There are, obviously, more value plays to open as the NFL injury report continues to populate, so let’s dive into the best NFL DFS Week 9 Watch List.

Top DraftKings DFS Week 9 Watch List

Caleb Williams, QB Chicago Bears ($6,100)

I’m curious to see what ownership looks like for Williams on the road after such a disappointing effort last week against a suspect Washington defense, but with this match-up against the Arizona Cardinals, I’m ready to lock him into some GPP tournament lineups.

Arizona ranks 29th in DVOA against the pass, they’re allowing the seventh-most passing yards per game and opposing quarterbacks have put together a 101.4 QB rating against them this season.

Tony Pollard, RB Tennessee Titans ($6,800)

Not only do we love this match-up against the Patriots, but the volume of touches Pollard is seeing right now is exactly what we want for DFS. He’s averaged just over 18 carries and four targets per game over his last four and seems like he’s on the cusp of a big breakout.

New England is allowing 133.1 rushing yards per game and have already allowed 10 rushing touchdowns on the season. If Pollard continues to see his regular workload, this should be a really nice mid-tier option.

Amari Cooper, WR Buffalo Bills ($5,800)

We are now entering game-three of Cooper being with Josh Allen and he’s about ready to pop. Keon Coleman is getting the headlines, and we dig him too, but this is a big divisional game, and the Bills want to take their fancy new toy for a spin.

The Dolphins may have Jalen Ramsey, but he’s clearly not the same cover guy he used to be. In fact, Miami ranks dead-last in DVOA against the opposing WR1 and are allowing an average of 61.6 yards per game to them. If he can break a long touchdown at this price? Oh baby!

Noah Fant, TE Seattle Seahawks ($3,600)

He’s my sleeper tight end in seasonal fantasy football this week but am more than happy to double-down on Fant in a GPP tournament. After last week’s National Tight End Day extravaganza, people are going to be more willing to spend up.

You don’t need to, especially when the Rams rank dead-last in DVOA against the tight end and are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to the position.

Best FanDuel DFS Week 9 Watch List

Joe Flacco, QB Indianapolis Colts ($7,000)

This is all about the value and having a ginormous slice of the Sunday Night game which FanDuel has on its main slate. I always grab at least one piece from the final game as many seem to pass on it for stacks they want to build from the early games.

The match-up against Minnesota isn’t ideal, but this is not some young, rookie QB taking over. It’s Flacco, the guy who likes to throw the ball 50 times per game. It should help that the Vikings are allowing the 12th-most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position.

Raheem Mostert, RB Miami Dolphins ($6,400)

It’s a little bit of a bargain and definitely a contrarian play as most will continue to roster De’Von Achane instead.

But Mostert continues to see a strong share of touches and now gets a Bills team that is allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to the running back position and is allowing just over 120 rushing yards per game. Don’ worry about the time-share. Get you touchdowns in for cheap.

Parker Washington, WR Jacksonville Jaguars ($6,100)

For now, this is where we are finding out value play at the receiver position. The Jaguars just lost Christian Kirk for the year, Brian Thomas is dealing with a chest injury and Gabe Davis has a shoulder problem.

The Eagles rank 31st in DVOA against the opposing WR1 and 19th against the WR3. What Washington needs is for Thomas to be out (if he’s in, he’s definitely being used in this matchup) or for Thomas and Davis to be out. We’ll keep watching this week and see if the value is still here by Saturday.

T.J. Hockenson, TE Minnesota Vikings ($5,600)

If you don’t want to risk using Flacco but still want a cheap slice of the Sunday Night game, then let’s take Hockenson out for a ride.

He is expected to be aback, he’s still pretty cheap and the Colts rank 27th in DVOA against the tight end. They are also allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position.
