Rams HC Sean McVay said “you would certainly never rule out the possibility of that,” when asked about the possibility of trading for CB Jalen Ramsey.
“There’s a lot of layers that would need to be worked out with a player of his magnitude... but you would never eliminate the possibility of adding a total stud,” McVay continued. Both McVay and Rams GM Les Snead seemed open to the idea, but as they’re well aware, adding Ramsey also might mean committing a new contract to him as well as winning a bidding war for his services. The Raiders and Falcons were tied to Ramsey by Jonathan Jones last week, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Ramsey was dealt on draft day.
CBS’ Jonathan Jones reports the Raiders and Falcons “should have some level of interest” in CB Jalen Ramsey.
Jones believes Ramsey has been known to be available since the NFL Combine and that Miami going public with it is an attempt to raise up a bigger trade market. It’s not surprising that a cornerback entering his age-31 season with a large recent extension isn’t going to return a major draft pick. Ramsey played well in 2024, with a 71.9 PFF coverage grade and a 76.9 overall rating. Still, he’s not likely to fetch more than a third-round pick in a trade.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Dolphins and CB Jalen Ramsey are exploring trade options.
Rapoport added that “it wouldn’t be a surprise if [Ramsey] played elsewhere in 2025.” The Dolphins owe Ramsey $25.1 million in 2025, and don’t seem eager to keep him onboard after an underwhelming two seasons in Miami. Ramsey has five interceptions for the Dolphins over 27 games, missing significant time with various injuries, including a lingering knee issue. Ramsey in 2024 was graded by Pro Football Focus as the league’s 24th best cover corner out of 133 qualifying cornerbacks. Entering his age-31 seasons, Ramsey should get a decent amount of interest in the trade market in the coming weeks.
Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey (knees) was limited in Tuesday’s walk-through.
Ramsey has been listed as limited for back-to-back days on the Dolphins injury report with “knees” injuries. He has suffered his fair share of knee issues since entering the NFL and it seems he is managing issues to both knees this week. With a limited designation, expect Ramsey to play Thanksgiving against the Packers, barring any setbacks. Meanwhile, CB Kendall Fuller (concussion) was listed as DNP and is likely to miss Week 13.
