NFL DFS Week 7 RB Coach: Saquon Barkley, Kyren Williams & Derrick Henry
Published: Oct 16, 2024
Welcome to the NFL DFS Week 7 RB Coach article!
Tony Pollard (17.8 DK/ 16.3 FD points) and David Montgomery (21 DK/ 20.5 FD points) exceeded their mid-tier expectations last week and they were good picks on my part but I also have to own up to the fact that Saquon Barkley (7.4 DK/ 6.4 FD points), James Conner (7.6 DK/ 4.6 FD points), Javonte Williams (5.6 DK/ 3.1 FD points) and Tank Bigsby (2.4 DK/ 2.4 FD points) ended up being terrible recommendations.
I will be better for the NFL DFS Week 7 RB Coach.
NFL DFS Week 7 RB Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy
Bigsby tanked in Week 6 but he’s got a very good matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 7 and Travis Etienne is dealing with a shoulder and hamstring injury.
If Etienne is inactive in Week 7 Bigsby will likely get the bulk of the work in the Jaguars’ backfield and could be a prime NFL DFS RB bouncebook candidate.
I was worried about Bijan Robinson’s hamstring heading into Week 6 but he seemed 100% healthy as he dropped 25.4 DK and 24 FD points on a perpetually bad Carolina Panthers run defense. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to pick on the Panthers this week until we get more information about Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson’s (knee) status for Week 7.
His handcuff, Austin Ekeler, is being priced as if Robinson Jr. will be inactive in Week 7 ($5900 DK/$6600 FD salary) but it’s a situation that needs to be monitored as kickoff approaches.
NFL Week 7 RBs
We like the Cleveland Browns NFL DFS RBs matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals for the NFL DFS Week 7 RB Coach. However, Nick Chubb is expected to make his season debut on Sunday afternoon.
In addition, Jerome Ford is considered week to week because of a hamstring injury and D’Onta Foreman suffered a neck injury in practice this week. The Browns’ might be forced to use a running back by committee in Week 7 featuring any Browns NFL DFS RB who is able to avoid a visit to the blue medical tent.
Your less expensively priced NFL DFS RBs are going to come with high risk in Week 7 causing me to suggest using higher priced DFS RBs as mid-tier RB options this week. Trey Sermon ($5900 DK/$6600 FD) and Antonio Gibson ($5600 DK/$6000 FD) both have good matchups.
However, you’ll have to follow Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Rhamondre Stevenson’s (foot) progress this week before deciding if you can slip Sermon (who is now dealing with his own ankle injury) or Gibson into your DFS lineups.
Buffalo Bills RB Ray Davis’ ($5200 DK/$5400 FD) matchup is a bit more challenging than Sermon and Gibson’s, but based on Davis’ Week 6 performance (97 rushing yards, 4.9 YPC, 3 catches 55 yards) the Bills might feel comfortable with waiting until James Cook (toe) is fully healthy before using him in game action in Week 7.
You should be watching Aaron Jones’ (hip) ($6500 DK/$7200 FD) and De’Von Achane’s (concussion) ($6700 DK/$6900 FD) progress this week but with the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears being the only teams on a bye in Week 7, there’s a wide range of NFL DFS RBs from which to choose from that can help you win some cash this week.
The following are my favorite NFL DFS Week 7 RB Coach picks and hopefully by the end of Week 7 they’ll be your favorites as well!
NFL DFS RB Top-Tier Picks For Week 7
Kyren Williams, RB Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $8,100 | FanDuel: $8,600
Williams is averaging 19 carries per game and for NFL DFS RB purposes he’s made the most of them. He’s averaging just over 20 DraftKings and 18.62 FanDuel points per week.
Williams faces a Las Vegas Raiders run defense that has given up 5.19 yards per carry (YPC) and the third most receptions to RBs this season.
Derrick Henry, RB Baltimore Ravens - DraftKings: $8,000 | FanDuel: $9,300
The Ravens are running the ball at the highest rate (53.18 %) of any team in the NFL and with Henry averaging 5.92 YPC as their lead back, why wouldn’t they? I shouldn’t need to sell you on building your NFL DFS lineups around Henry.
After all, he's rushed for at least one TD in each of his first six games and he’s averaging 24.1 DraftKings and 23.55 FanDuel fantasy points this season. He’s matchup proof but his opponent, the Buccaneers, are giving up 4.73 YPC to RBs over the past three weeks.
NFL DFS RB Mid-Tier Picks For Week 7
Joe Mixon, RB Houston Texans - DraftKings: $7,200 | FanDuel: $8,400
In his first game back since suffering an ankle injury Mixon played his lowest percentage of offensive snaps of the season (42%) but it was enough to allow him to rush for 102 yards (7.8 YPC), score a TD and catch three passes.
With the Texans demolishing the New England Patriots, the Texans were able to ease Mixon back into their offense, if you can call 30.2 DraftKings and 29.2 FanDuel points easing him back in. I’m sure his snaps played percentage will increase gradually as game script and his health allows.
He’s a good NFL Week 7 DFS RB option against the Green Bay Packers who are allowing 4.65 YPC to RBs this season.
Bijan Robinson, RB Atlanta Falcons - DraftKings: $7,100 | FanDuel: $8,200
I faded Robinson last week but now that I know he’s healthy I like his potential as a top Week 7 NFL DFS RB. He’s facing the Seahawks who in their past three games have allowed the second most rushing yards to RBs (445, 6.1 YPC).
New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy and San Francisco 49ers RB Isaac Guerendo, who are both back up backs, feasted against the Seahawks’ run defense over the past two weeks. You might even consider using Robinson’s handcuff Tyler Allgeier ($5100 DK/$5800 FD salary) in Week 7. Allgeier played his highest percentage of offensive snaps (41%) last week.
NFL DFS RB Value Picks For Week 7
Chuba Hubbard, RB Carolina Panthers - DraftKings: $6,500 | FanDuel: $7,400
Hubbard has quietly established himself as the NFL’s third leading rusher (485 rushing yards) and his 5.64 YPC is the fifth best among NFL DFS RBs. He’s been a solid NFL DFS option, averaging 20.28 DraftKings and 17.88 FanDuel fantasy points per week in his last five games.
With some suggesting that Panthers rookie RB Jonathan Brooks probably won’t be a factor until Week 9, Hubbard should continue to be their lead back for at least the next few weeks. He’s got a great matchup against the Commanders who have given up 5.4 YPC to RBs over the past three weeks and the fifth most rushing yards (715) to the position on the season.
J.K. Dobbins, RB Los Angeles Chargers - DraftKings: $6,300 | FanDuel: $7,200
Everyone knew that the Chargers were going to be a run-first offense coming into the 2024 NFL season and they’ve run the ball at the third highest rate (52.40%) of any team this season. Running the ball will be a good strategy against their Week 7 opponent, the Arizona Cardinals.
Dobbins, who is averaging 5.4 YPC this season should be a top NFL DFS RB priority in Week 7 against a Cardinals team that continues to get shredded by the run. The Cards are allowing 4.68 YPC to RBs and have given up the second most rushing yards (749) to the position.
NFL DFS RB Fades For Week 7
Jordan Mason RB, San Francisco 49ers - DraftKings: $7,600 | FanDuel: $8,800
Mason (sprained shoulder) is priced as a top-tier RB and even though he got in a light (non-contact) practice earlier this week I wouldn’t consider him a good Week 7 NFL DFS RB option.
In fact, I wouldn’t consider using any 49ers RB against the 49ers’ 7th-ranked run defense this week. San Fran gives up just 101 rushing yards per game.
NFL Week 7 RB Play Of The Week
Saquon Barkley, RB Philadelphia Eagles - DraftKings: $8,200 | FanDuel: $9,000
I’m falling for the revenge game trap. Barkley had to have his Week 7 faceoff against the New York Giants circled on his calendar. The Eagles might not be as dominant as they have been in the past, but over the past several seasons they have ravaged the Giants and this game might be just what they need to get their season on track.
They’ll likely get out to an early big lead and feed Barkley the ball all game long. The Giants have given up 4.85 YPC to RBs this season and Barkley should have a big day. Barkley might even score a TD, or two this week.
