Packers vs. Jaguars Predictions For NFL Week 8, Sunday 10/27
Of the entire Week 8 slate, making Packers vs. Jaguars predictions is arguably our absolute favorite spot. In fact, we even used this matchup for one of our best NFL Week 8 player prop picks, so be sure to check out that article as well!
Not to spoil things too much, but look for the Packers to exploit the Jags awful secondary. That has been one of the primary factors for Jacksonville’s 2-5 record and why they’ve allowed 35+ points in two of their past three games! We may also be burying the lead in terms of the best bet from our Packers vs. Jaguars picks, but we’ll have it coming up!
Green Bay Packers: Pouring It On
While the Jags have been allowing points aplenty, the Packers have been pouring them on. Their 26.6 points per game are the sixth-most in the entire NFL, which has helped that rattle off three straight wins.
That has Green Bay now sitting at 5-2, but given the competitiveness of the NFC North, there is no time to get complacent. Despite that great record, they are still in third place in the division! With the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings both sitting at 5-1, the Pack can’t be treating any opponent like Cheeseheads, even the Jags.
Jacksonville Jaguars: No Rest For The Wicked
Rather than cheese, it’s fish and chips that Jacksonville has been dining on thanks to back-to-back games in London for the first time in NFL history. As you’d expect, they didn’t make the trip back between games, and worse yet, they don’t even get their bye week after two-plus weeks overseas!
As if their season wasn’t already looking bleak, the NFL hasn’t done them any favors. While they were able to win the second of their two London games, it also came against the New England Patriots. As far as teams that are polar opposites of the Packers go, the Pats would be among them.
Packers vs. Jaguars Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
The Pack may not be on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, but we still aren’t surprised that they’re clear favorites according to the latest Packers vs. Jaguars odds at BetMGM Sportsbook:
- Point Spread: Green Bay Packers -4 (-110) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars +4 (-110)
- Money Line: Green Bay Packers (-210) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (+170)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 49.5 (-110) vs. Under 49.5 (-110)
Packers vs. Jaguars Predictions: Green Bay -4 (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
It’s not quite the heart of winter, but not being on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field may be welcomed by Love and company. Green Bay certainly didn’t mind being in Los Angeles the other week when they began their current three-game winning streak.
If not for an extremely close 31-29 loss to the Minnesota Vikings prior to that, it would be a six-game winning streak. Regardless, that score also makes us want to mention that we wouldn’t be opposed to adding the over to your Packers vs. Jaguars picks, but given the total at nearly 50 points, we’re comfortable sticking with the point spread.
We have the Pack as favorites of nearly six points, and frankly, we’re comfortable with anything less than a touchdown. There seems to be a bit of an overcorrection given Jacksonville’s ability to double-up on the Pats in London, winning that matchup 32-16.
However, we aren’t getting sucked into only what we just saw recently. The Jags simply haven’t looked the part, and as we’ve mentioned, this matchup is awful for them. They allow the second-most passing yards per game, and now, Love has his full arsenal of weapons available.
We saw RB Josh Jacobs even score a receiving touchdown this past Sunday, and their entire WR room is healthy. Furthermore, Green Bay is far more balanced than it was last season. They struggled to stop the run, but with a new defensive coordinator in Jeff Hafley calling the plays, they have been much improved.
Along with the Jags being in a terrible spot after back-to-back London games, we’ll happily support a four-game winning streak and lock in the best bet from our Packers vs. Jaguars predictions on Green Bay -4 (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook).

Player News
Bills signed CB Tre’Davious White, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year, $6.8 million contract.
Bills waived TE Armani Rogers.
This is unfortunate. Rogers recently ruptured his Achilles tendon for the second time in three years. He showed promise as a 2022 rookie, earning a 65.3 PFF receiving grade and a 68.0 PFF run-blocking grade, but the injuries are taking their toll. The Bills also released DT Branson Deen.
Titans waived OT Nicholas Petit-Frere.
The team signed C Sam Mustipher and OT Oli Udoh in corresponding moves. Petit-Frere failed to meet expectations after the Titans spent a third-round pick on him in 2022, allowing 35-plus quarterback pressures in 2-of-3 NFL seasons.
Cowboys signed OL Hakeem Adeniji, formerly of the Browns, to a contract.
The former 2020 sixth-round pick last took regular season snaps in 2022. Adeniji spent the 2023 season serving as a part-time special teams player, and although he was technically on the Browns’ 2024 roster, he missed the full season on injured reserve. Adeniji will likely handle a deep-backup/special teams role in Dallas this year.
Free agent QB Aaron Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show that he is currently focusing on matters in his personal life while mulling his future in the NFL.
In a wide-ranging discussion with McAfee, Rodgers said that he is still contemplating whether to play in 2025 or retire this offseason, though he has settled on a $10 million asking price, should he choose to stick around. Rodgers repeatedly, yet ambiguously, emphasized that caring for troubled members of his “inner circle” has been his offseason priority. Rodgers spoke positively of his recent visit with the Steelers, praising head coach Mike Tomlin, OC Arthur Smith, GM Omar Khan, QB coach Tom Arth and WR DK Metcalf, whom he called “a specimen” and a “great dude.” Rodgers downplayed reports about pitching Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell on a union, saying much ado has been made about two old “friends” remaining in regular contact. The free agent QB also notably complimented Giants head coach Brian Daboll’s “beautiful football mind” but kept Giants-talk relatively succinct. Rodgers made clear that the rapidly approaching 2025 NFL Draft will have no bearing on his decision-making timeline, and he understands if the Steelers determine that they must move on without him. In short, it appears as though Rodgers will either sign with the Steelers or move on from football. The enigmatic quarterback gave few indications as to which direction he is leaning.
FOX NFL’s Jordan Schultz reports “interested teams believe Philadelphia would be open to future picks” for TE Dallas Goedert.
Goedert has become a popular trade candidate in the rumor mill. He is on the final year of his current contract and is undoubtedly looking for a new deal. The Eagles, on the other hand, haven’t made much noise about extending him and have generally tried to get out ahead of new contracts in recent years. The timing of this report suggests the Eagles are still trying to field offers for Goedert and the price may be dropping.
