Jaguars vs. Bears Predictions For NFL Week 6, Sunday 10/13
NFL fans have long griped about the status of prime time games, usually Thursday Night Football, in terms of low-tier matchups. Many would consider this London game of the same variety, but at the end of the day, we get to start our Sunday nice and early and of course, there is always value to be had.
It’s been a tough go for the Jags to say the least, especially after giving QB Trevor Lawrence a massive contract extension this summer. Rather than seeing him light it up through the air, Jacksonville is getting lit up in the passing game.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see more points in London than last week if you’d like to consider that for your Jaguars vs. Bears picks, but we’ve got just a slightly different angle for the best bet from our Jaguars vs. Bears predictions coming up.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Home Away From Home
The Jags have become as close to a home team for London fans as it gets, and rightfully so. When these games started, the NFL was sending over struggling teams, which included Jacksonville. Therefore, this will mark the 12th time that the Jags have played in London, and they have another game there next week!
A change of scenery should be nice, especially given the recent hurricane in Florida. At least Jacksonville left town just in time after securing their first win of the season last week, as they were the last winless team remaining in the NFL. It also snapped Lawrence’s nine straight losing starts dating back to last year.
Chicago Bears: Swift Emergence
As fantasy football managers will tell you, getting a read on the Bears backfield was a nightmare to start the season. That was a bit surprising given the team grabbing former Philadelphia Eagle RB D’Andre Swift, but after 10 carries for 30 yards and 14 carries for 18 yards, it looked as though they would turn to Roschon Johnson.
Well, Swift has since emerged to the tune of 93 yards and a touchdown two weeks ago and 73 yards and a touchdown last week. Across those two games, he also racked up 37 carries, so it’s clear that he is again the featured back in the Windy City. But, will that be enough against a Jags defense that most prefer to attack through the air?
The best bet from our Jaguars vs. Bears predictions will provide some clarity, but first, the latest lines for this London game.
Jaguars vs. Bears Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
That Jaguars vs. Bears odds below are provided by DraftKings Sportsbook, as this is where we found the best value in terms of the market that we’re focused on with our Jaguars vs. Bears predictions:
- Point Spread: Jacksonville Jaguars +2.5 (-112) vs. Chicago Bears -2.5 (-108)
- Money Line: Jacksonville Jaguars (+114) vs. Chicago Bears (-135)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 44.5 (-112) vs. Under 44.5 (-108)
Jaguars vs. Bears Predictions: Jacksonville Team Total Over 20.5 Points (-130 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
We mentioned that we expected more points overall than the London game last Sunday, but we’re going to key in on the Jags specifically. It may seem like a tough sell for a 1-4 team to go over their team total, but we aren’t asking for much in this case.
As we’ve already shared, the Jags are also more than comfortable overseas. This isn’t a case of the distance past either - Lawrence and company have been there and done that at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In fact, it’s Jacksonville’s last two London games that are the most supportive of our Jaguars vs. Bears predictions.
They won both their matchups in England last season, including the most recent against the Buffalo Bills, by scoring 23 and 25 points in those matchups. That may not be miles above what we need, but we also saw the Jags score 37 points just last Sunday.
As for Chicago, not being in Chicago has been their biggest issue. The Bears have won their last eight straight home games, which is incredible but have lost seven of their last eight road games. It’s safe to say that they’re far from Chi-Town this Sunday, so we’re locking in the best bet from our Jaguars vs. Bears predictions on Jacksonville’s team total over 20.5 points (-130 at DraftKings Sportsbook).
