Bears placed Jaquan Brisker (concussion) on injured reserve.
The move appears to be long overdue. Brisker suffered the concussion in Week 5 and has been unable to practice ever since. Hopefully, the talented safety can spend the rest of the season healing up while focusing on his long-term health.
Bears declared S Jaquan Brisker, LB Noah Sewell, OT Darnell Wright, OT Braxton Jones, DB Ameer Speed, DE Darrell Taylor, G Nate Davis, and OT Kiran Amegadjie inactive for Week 10 against the Patriots.
Brisker continues to be sidelined due to a concussion. The Bears are also down Jones, Wright, and Amegadjie on the offensive line while Taylor and Sewell will both miss Week 10 due to knee injuries.
Bears S Jaquan Brisker, DT Zacch Pickens, and CB Terell Smith did not travel with the team to London ahead of their Week 6 game against the Jaguars.
Brisker was unable to clear concussion protocol while Pickens (groin) and Smith (hip) will be held out of action as well. It is unclear if any of the three would have had a chance to play had their Week 6 game not been in London, but they will be out as things currently stand.
Bears S Jaquan Brisker (concussion) does not practice on Wednesday.
Brisker’s situation is a unique one. The safety took a big shot during a Raiders two-point conversion attempt back in Week 7 and cleared the concussion protocol at the time. However, he then got sick a few days later. When his fever cleared on Sunday, he still felt other symptoms, so the Bears held him out of Week 8. Now he’ll start the week off not practicing; however, the Bears just held a walkthrough on Wednesday, so it remains to be seen if Brisker will be on the field against the Saints.
