Despite that, Rodgers set out to prove everyone wrong and return midseason last year. However, since the Jets were not in playoff contention, that didn’t come to fruition. Not only that, but the 49ers were Rodgers’ favorite team growing up as a kid in California, so he always has something to prove in these matchups. Better yet, he’s been able to do so! In nine career games against San Fran, Rodgers has rushed for at least seven yards in all but one of them, including four games with 27 or more rushing yards.

Sure, 49ers DE Nick Bosa may get a sack or two, but this isn’t college - those don’t count against rushing yards. Rather than superstar 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey, we’re focused on a different San Francisco weapon. That would be the dual threat of WR Deebo Samuel. We know that WR Brandon Aiyuk was the topic of headlines this offseason, but that was due to contract drama.

Samuel has already gone through that and has proven his worth. So much so that it’s surprising to see his rushing yards prop so low. In nine of 15 games last season, he finished with 11 or more rushing yards, including five games with 22 or more rushing yards. The most common rebuttal will be the Jets defense, but we still aren’t worried there.

If there is one angle to exploit New York, it’s on the ground. Their defense was great overall last season, but still allowed the eighth-most rushing yards per game.
