2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Strategy & Advice: Week 14 Predictions

UPDATED: Friday, Dec. 6 at 5:15pm ET
And just like that, it’s NFL Week 14 and it’s time to make those picks for our 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools.
The week kicks off in style on Thursday Night Football with a fantastic NFC North battle as the division-leading Detroit Lions host Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. These teams met back in Week 9 where the Lions won 24-14.
Neither quarterback played particularly well, but with Las Vegas setting the game total at 51.5 this time around, three points higher than it was back then, we’re all expecting some fireworks in this rematch. How does that affect our NFL Week 14 confidence pool picks? You’ll just have to keep reading.
2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Strategy For Week 14
As we’ve discussed in these pages in weeks past, the general confidence pool advice and strategy is relatively the same from here on out. Where you are in your overall standings of your 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence pool is what matters most. If you are near the top of your standings, my standard confidence pool advice is to simply lean into the chalk.
We continue to see a lot of favorites walk away with the win over the past few weeks, so keep your place in the standings and lean into it. If you find yourself in the middle of the pack, you’re going to have to continue taking some chances now if and only if you feel like you can move up and finish in the money. Be honest with yourself. Be objective. The time for hoping and wishing is gone. It’s Week 14 after all.
If you truly think you can move into the money, maybe increase the confidence level of some of the less-chalky picks and see if you can move up. If you don’t think so, then keep reading as we can alter our strategy. If you’re at the bottom, you should have checked your 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence pool rules to see if there is a second-half prize or even a weekly payout to chase.
With everyone near the top leaning into the chalk, your chances of moving that far up are probably pretty slim. If you can steal a weekly payout or two over the next few weeks, chances are you can finish the season in the black. If there is no weekly payout, then use these final few weeks to practice and see what changes in your process are potentially needed.
NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Advice
There is really not much more to add to my current confidence pool advice other than what you just read.
At the top, you want to wait for some real good games to try and make a move with a contrarian pick. In the middle, it’s about adjusting your confidence levels on some picks that could go either way – maybe games like the Jets/Dolphins or Seahawks/Cardinals, for example. Or even the Saints/Giants where I’m looking at a potential upset.
If you don’t think you can finish top-10 then it’s time to look for other ways to make money off the pool. Most have a weekly payout, so lean into it. Here are my picks for Week 14 of your 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence pools.

Player News
Dolphins signed No. 13 overall pick DT Kenneth Grant to a four-year contract.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Grant will sign his contract today. The former Michigan defensive tackle is expected to fill a major void left by Christian Wilkins, who left for the Raiders in the 2024 offseason. Grant totaled 32 tackles, three sacks, and seven TFLs in his final season at Michigan and excelled at stopping the run while also generating 27 pressures in his final season, per PFF.
Beat reporter John Hendrix reports that free agent WR Donovan Peoples-Jones is among the 16 players that the Saints will host for their rookie minicamp.
Peoples-Jones last played regular season snaps with the Lions back in 2023, when he caught 13-of-24 targets for 155 yards. He is highly unlikely to return to fantasy relevance at this point but could perhaps sign on as a special teams contributor.
Titans signed fourth-round pick WR Elic Ayomanor to a four-year contract.
Ayomanor will now begin learning behind Calvin Ridley. Although Ayomanor is unlikely to find a meaningful role in year one, dynasty managers should note his status as training camp gets underway this summer. The former Stanford receiver flashed big-play ability in his two college seasons.
Buccaneers signed seventh-round pick WR Tez Johnson to a four-year contract.
Johnson will serve as a rotational deep-threat option for Baker Mayfield. His thin frame (5'10/154) simply does not lend itself to the repeated hits one incurs in a full-time role. Johnson did earn 100-plus targets in his two seasons at Oregon, though. His big-play style make him a better fit in best ball for now, pending any major on-field breakthroughs.
Giants waived DT Casey Rogers.
Rogers was a 2024 undrafted free agent and logged 33 defensive snaps for the Giants in his rookie season. He is credited with zero tackles and/or sacks. He may find his way onto another roster as a practice squad option.
Vikings signed third-round pick WR Tai Felton to a four-year contract.
Felton is quietly in play to challenge Vikings No. 3 WR Jalen Nailor in training camp. Nailor (5'11/190) caught 28-of-42 targets for 414 yards and six touchdowns in his first season as a starter last year, with the latter category buoying his fantasy productivity. Felton (6'1/183), meanwhile, caught 96-of-143 targets for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 2.32 yards per route run in his final college season. Fantasy managers should monitor Felton’s training camp reports this summer, as he could have a matchup-based WR5 role if everything falls into place.
