Best NFL Sunday Night Football Player Prop Picks

This truly is one of the most intriguing, if not frustrating, weeks to lock in NFL SNF player prop picks. When we mentioned the news of the week, that applies to both teams in this matchup. While most fans are likely already up to date, it’s still worth noting what went down.

The Jets reunited their future Hall-of-Fame QB Aaron Rodgers with WR Davante Adams in a blockbuster trade to begin the week. Then, the Steelers decided to be as coy as humanly possible when it comes to naming their starting QB for SNF now that Russell Wilson’s calf is healthy.

Given those factors, oddsmakers didn’t even have any Jets vs. Steelers player props available nearly all week, and even now, options are limited. Therefore, locking in NFL SNF player prop picks is also limited, but we’ve still found spots to quickly take you through.

Jets vs. Steelers Player Props: Davante Adams Over 4.5 Receptions (-108 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

After waiting forever and a day to even have lines posted so that we could make our NFL SNF player prop picks, we thought for sure that Davante Adams would be inflated in every way possible. With him being reunited with Aaron Rodgers, the public is sure to be all over his props.

Thankfully, that does not seem to be the case. In fact, we wouldn’t be opposed to adding his touchdown scorer prop to your NFL SNF player prop picks (+165 at FanDuel). However, we’re going to take what we consider to be a bit of a safer route with his receptions prop.

Whether you like it or not, the Rodgers to Adams connection is uncanny. You’ve likely seen plenty of stats throughout the week after the trade was made to support that, and they truly are staggering. For example, the two combined for 615 receptions and 7,529 yards across their eight seasons in Green Bay together.

It wasn’t as though things dropped off in their last season together with the Packers either. In that year, Adams was targeted fewer than seven times just once and recorded fewer than six receptions just twice. In that span, he also racked up double-digit receptions in three of the last five regular season games with Rodgers.

We specify the regular season as they also made the playoffs that year - Adams had nine catches on 11 targets for 90 yards. While this is a new team and Nathaniel Hackett is no longer calling plays, we fully expect a concerted effort to get Adams the ball, so this line feels soft. Therefore, the first of our NFL SNF player prop picks is Davante Adams over 4.5 receptions (-108 at FanDuel Sportsbook).

Jets vs. Steelers Player Prop Bets: Najee Harris Over 55.5 Rushing Yards (-113 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

As for the other side of our Jets vs. Steelers player props, we’re going to the ground game. One line that we have had for a few days is that for Pittsburgh RB Najee Harris, and we’ve seen it tick up from 52.5 yards. However, we’re still comfortable taking the over.

That is for a few reasons, namely the fact that the running game is where you can exploit an otherwise strong New York defense and pure volume and efficiency from Harris. First, let’s address the most common rebuttal to us adding this to our NFL SNF player prop picks.

Steelers RB Jaylen Warren has been back healthy. Sure, and he rushed for seven yards on six carries last week. Ok, so they were just facing a strong rushing defense surely. Nope - it was against the Las Vegas Raiders where Harris went off for 106 yards on just 14 carries for an average of 7.6 yards per rush.

So, even when he isn’t getting 20+ carries, he’s making them count. As for the Jets defense, it’s certainly far from terrible, but they excel in the secondary with CB Sauce Gardner and company. While they allow just 148.8 passing yards per game (second-best), they allow over 124 rushing yards per game.

Admittedly, that isn’t among the worst, but they haven’t played juggernauts on the ground as of late either. They were able to take on a Buffalo Bills team without starting RB James Cook, AND a Minnesota Vikings team with starting RB Aaron Jones that past two weeks. With that in mind, we’re confident in adding Najee Harris over 55.5 rushing yards (-113 at FanDuel Sportsbook) to our best NFL SNF player prop picks.
