Pelicans vs. Warriors NBA DFS Picks For DraftKings & FanDuel - Tue, 10/29
Published: Oct 29, 2024
We have a great NBA DFS showdown matchup between two Western Conference opponents as the New Orleans Pelicans travel to Golden State for the first of two straight matchups against each other on two consecutive nights. This is each team’s first back-to-back set of the year so it’ll definitely be interesting to see how things are handled, especially on the Warriors side considering the injuries they’re dealing with and how many guys they’ve been consistently playing on a nightly basis. With elite talents such as Stephen Curry and Dejounte Murray out, we’re going to have to target other names in tonight’s NBA DFS Playbook for the showdown matchup of the night.

Pelicans vs. Warriors NBA DFS Showdown Picks: MVP & Captain
Brandon Ingram - $13,500 DK, $14,000 FD
I’ve loved everything Brandon Ingram related over the last two games other than him struggling with his shot. He’s still taking a bunch of shots and posting a 25% USG in each of them, the shots just haven’t fallen. That said, he’s first in potential assists and second in potential rebounds per game and is getting fantasy points in a lot of different routes since Dejounte Murray went down with an injury.
Zion Williamson - $14,100 DK, $15,000 FD
Whether or not Zion Williamson faces any sort of restriction, his ceiling is simply higher than anyone else in this game. If he ends up not being restricted, we saw last year he’s capable of handling mid-30s minutes and does a little of everything including a LOT of scoring.
Jonathan Kuminga - $10,500 DK, $12,500 FD
What in the world will Steve Kerr do with Jonathan Kuminga’s minutes tonight? We have to assume they’re going to be as high as they’ve been, if not much higher with the injuries the Warriors are dealing with tonight. Stephen Curry, De’Anthony Melton, and Andrew Wiggins are all out. Kuminga is an extremely high usage player and is someone, in the prop world, that’s projected to score 20 or more points.
Brandin Podziemski - $5,600 DK, $10,500 FD
This is a sneaky captain play because of who Golden State is down. Both Stephen Curry and De’Anthony Melton are out and those are the team’s top two ball handlers. They’re also down Andrew Wiggins who’s been a primary scorer for them this season. During his rookie campaign, per 36 minutes, Podziemski averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. If that’s the type of production we get at his price, he allows you to comfortably fit the Pelicans big three.
UTIL NBA DFS Showdown Plays for Tuesday
CJ McCollum - $8,800 DK, $13,500 FD
I like CJ McCollum here and I’m perfectly fine if you want to go to CJM as a captain, too. McCollum has a 25.6% USG rate on the year while averaging well north of 1.1 FP/min. With Dejounte Murray, McCollum is back to last years role in which he’s operating as the teams point guard, but he’s still scoring like he has as a shooting guard. It’s a nice balance.
Buddy Hield - $6,600 DK, $12,000 FD
Amongst all of the Warriors that have logged at least 20 minutes this year, the clubhouse leader for FP/min this year is none other than Buddy Hield at 1.58 DKP and 1.47 FDP. Now the Warriors will be without Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, and Gary Payton and we saw Hield close in the Warriors last game that Curry left due to injury. He’s a sneaky captain option as well.
Jordan Hawkins - $5,800 DK, $11,000 FD
Jordan Hawkins has been an absolute bucket off the bench for the Pelicans and he’s been efficient and he’s played a bunch of minutes. If he continues to knock shots down, grab rebounds, and approach 30 minutes, he’s going to be in a LOT of winning lineups in showdown.
Yves Missi - $4,600 DK, $9,000 FD
When Yves Missi comes into games, he wreaks havoc. He’s blocked nearly four shots per 36 minutes and he’s outplayed starter Daniel Theis. Missi has averaged 1.1 FP/min
Pelicans vs. Warriors NBA DFS Picks: Dart Throws
Kyle Anderson - $3,800 DK, $7,500 FD
Kyle Anderson has been a really good FP/min guy on the Warriors at 1.1 this season and his role should expand in this matchup against the Pelicans. The Warriors are short-handed.
Moses Moody - $3,600 DK, $8,000 FD
Moody might be the most popular cheap play on the board because there’s a real chance he starts. Even if he doesn’t start, he is firmly going to be in the team’s rotation. He’s going to shoot a lot when he’s out there.
Gary Payton - $3,000, DK, $8,000 FD
It’s nothing more than a dart, but Payton’s ability to stuff the stat sheet is what lands him here. He’s really great defensively but every time he’s seemingly extended, he gets hurt. He’s OK because he’ll be in the rotation.
