NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Sunday Playbook

It's been back-to-back games without Luka Doncic in which Kyrie Irving has struggled, but again, you're going to get the pop game sooner rather than later. He still has a 28.4% USG and averages 1.24 FP/min without Doncic on the year.

Harden is arguably my favorite spend-up on the slate. Without Norm Powell this year, Harden sees a 5% USG bump up to 35% and averages 1.37 FP/min. He's gone for 50+ FP in three of four and in only one of those games has he shot better than 30%. When he makes shots, he's going to go for 70 with how well he's doing peripherally.

DK ONLY - Even in a game the Kings scored just 88 points in and in a game with Sabonis and DeRozan back, Fox put up a 29-7-7 and led the team with a 29% USG. Brooklyn ranks 24th in DRtg and this is a spot Fox should and will take advantage of.

With Philly down Joel Embiid and Paul George, the field is going to flock to Maxey. He's likely still going to be limited, but the limit should still get us to around 30 minutes based on how his leap was from his first game back to his second. Maxey had a 29% USG and went for 48 DKP and without those two this season, Maxey has a 32% USG and avgs. 1.14 FP/min.

FD ONLY - T.J. McConnell is soooo back. Without all the guys that are out for Indy, TJM has a 22.4% USG (higher than Haliburton) and averages 1.28 FP/min, which leads the team. In this uptempo game with 240 implied points, we likely see McConnell extended here. Great price for his ceiling on FD.

Porter likely will be one of the more popular value plays of the day but it's REALLY hard getting away from him today. He's a high-usage player to begin with, but with Norm Powell off the floor, it's 30.8% while averaging 1.05 FP/min. Without Porter LAC lacks that secondary scoring punch, which is the exact reason why we saw him extended to 26 minutes last time out. He provides just that.

How many people will even get to Mitchell here? Toronto is just 23rd in DRtg on the year and this is a great game environment with 234 implied points, we just need the Raptors to stay competitive. Mitchell has a 31.7% USG and averages 1.3 FP/min this year.

Jared Mccain posted another monster fantasy outing last game and helped his team to a win and is once again playing without Joel Embiid and Paul George. He's going to be very popular despite the massive price boost. Without Embiid & George this year, he has a 20.3% USG and averages 1.23 FP/min.

DK ONLY - It's not anything of a priority for me, but we know what the ceiling CAN be. Anyone with a 31.7% USG and is averaging 1.05 FP/min is going to typically be in my player pool. Direct pivot off chalkier McCain.

FD ONLY - Brogdon started the past couple of games for Washington and that seems to be the plan moving forward. He could get a huge boost here if Jordan Poole (listed Q) sits out. At 5.3, in a game with an implied total over 240, Brogdon is a fantastic play. He played 26 minutes, had a 27.7% USG, and closed last time out, and that came against the defending champs.

Even on nights where Dunn doesn't shoot well, he can be valuable because he's such a good boxscore stuffer. Last game is the best example of that. Since entering the starting lineup, Dunn's been a .94 FP/min guy. He's played 25+ minutes in five of seven starts.

I'd like to get to Merrill if we get the news that Isaac Okoro is out because CLE is already without Strus, LeVert, and Wade. Merrill is cheap enough that if he gets hot OR is on the floor during a blowout he'll be extended.

Barnes played 27 minutes out of the gate and we should definitely expect Toronto to comfortably set him into the 30's for this one. This isn't the easiest spot but if it stays competitive, Barnes has his hand in it. Barnes' had a 26% USG in his return and in a small sample this year, has a 27.4% USG and 1.23 FP/min average without Immanuel Quickley.

I won't overlook the fact that Kelly Oubre was simply in foul trouble last game and that's why his minutes look the way they do. He played 18.5 minutes in the second game, which paces him for 37 in the game. He didn't play the final 9:40 of the first half with three fouls. He still went for 34 DKP. He gets a 3% USG increase up to 23.8% without Embiid and George this year.

FD ONLY - Mathurin has shown a pretty low floor, but man he is SO good when the shot is dropping. With everyone that's out off the floor, he has a 24% USG and averages .95 FP/min. Seven times in his last nine games he's put up 35+ FDP and is in a game with 241 implied points against the worst defense in the league.

There's a lot that can go wrong with this play if things don't break Grimes' way, which is why I think it's only a GPP play. If Klay Thompson makes more shots and Grimes doesn't, who do you think is on the floor late? If Naji Marshell plays well and Grimes doesn't, who do you think is on the floor? Now, as we've seen the last couple of games, when he makes shot he has a ceiling at this price, but I'm skeptical if he's one of the highest-owned players of the slate.

FD ONLY - We don't know what Washington is going to do with their starting 5 now that Poole is out, but even if Kispert isn't starting and I don't think he will, he's in play. Outside of late game, he's had a very consistent role on this team and has a 30+ minute ceiling. If his shot is falling, he stays on the floor.

Guy has just been so good this year and it's because his offense has taken a step forward. He's averaging 1.24 FP/min and a near 23% USG without LeVert and Wade this year and this spot is against a bottom-five defense in the NBA.

Pacers against the worst-ranked defense in all of basketball? Sign me up. Siakam's been inconsistent but has 37+ DKP in two of his last three. With Nembhard, Nesmith, and Sheppard off the floor, Siakam has a 24% USG and averages 1.05 FP/min.

FD ONLY - Kuzma is just a big usage getter with or without Jordan Poole on the floor. He's been just OK from a fantasy standpoint but it was good to see him play 34 minutes last game. This is a great matchup for him to get his offense going without Poole and in a game with 240 implied points.

Luka Doncic has missed two games this year and P.J. Washington has nuked both games. He's gone at least 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 45 DKP in each. Without Doncic, Washington has a 5.6% USG bump (leads the team), 22% USG overall, and avgs. 1.4 FP/min (leads the team). 

When he's playing well, he has wiggle room to get him mid-20s minutes, but he has to be active. He's risky because he also may only play 17. That's the GPP Chris Boucher experience. He's a 22% USG guy that's averaging 1.12 FP/min without Quickley this year. 

His minutes are everywhere, but when Jones scores the ball he has a very high ceiling on DK at this price. I'd only play him there, but for what it's worth, Jones is the biggest FP/min beneficiary on a per-minute basis when Norm Powell is off the floor. He's a respectable .8 FP/min guy without Powell and if he gets 30 minutes again, this DK price is too cheap.

DK ONLY - Sabonis returned from a two-game absence and wasn't on any type of minutes restriction. In fact, he played 40 minutes and put up 52 DKP. He's playing monster minutes and has a matchup against a team that's bottom-10 in defense. Very, very safe.

With Jimmy Butler returning to the lineup last game, Adebayo only took with shots and scored five points, but that's an outlier. Adebayo had a monster peripheral stat game and if he was anywhere close to his season average of 16.5 points, he smashes. Adebayo has a 28% USG and averages 1.13 FP/min.

The minutes for Zubac since Mo Bamba came back have not been as consistent as they were earlier in the year, but we've still seen a 36-minute ceiling since Bamba's returned. Without Joel Embiid, Zubac has a very enticing matchup against a smaller Guerschon Yabusele and Andre Drummond who's good at rebounding, but not much else. Without Powell this year, Zubac has the second-biggest USG bump on the year and is averaging 1.09 FP/min.

Yabusele has just simply been good since coming back to the NBA and even started over Andre Drummond last game. That's seemingly going to be the move for the foreseeable future as Joel Embiid has tests done on his knee. Yabusele had a double-double last game and has scored 30+ DKP in all four games that he's played at least 30 minutes in.

ADDED - With Terry Rozier off the floor this year, Jimmy Butler has been rather awesome. He's averaged 1.48 FP/min and a 27.5% USG rate. Butler had a 30-point double-double in the Heat's last tilt and is off the injury report for today.

ADDED - Williams started in the two games that DFS sat in earlier this year and was great, scoring north of 30 FP. There's no reason to think that won't happen today and if he's in the starting lineup, he's definitely in play.
