NBA Daily Fantasy Picks & Playbook November 13

Published: Nov 13, 2023
We have a four-game NBA DFS main slate on Monday, November 13, on DraftKings and FanDuel. It's an interesting slate and a LOT has happened since the beginning of the day. The Kings look to be chalky, but De'Aaron Fox has gone through shootaround and is now possibly playing tonight, which would wipe out a LOT of that chalk. OG Anunoby has been listed as questionable in a dream spot against the Wizards, and Danilo Gallinari was chalk earlier in the day but he's also been ruled out. Let's get into our favorite NBA DFS plays for tonight's slate.

Game Flow Notes
I’m bringing you guys some game flow notes because of who we have on back-to-backs today. I want to prepare you for all possibilities on what teams COULD do if they follow trends from earlier in the year.
New York: Knicks have had two back-to-backs thus far and the starters have played big minutes. They lost out on about 4-5 minutes in a blowout in their first b2b outing, which would have all given their starting 5 34+ minutes outside of Josh Hart. Hart’s minutes have been very contingent on how well Immanuel Quickley is playing.
Washington: This is their first back-to-back, but their rotation has been a nightmare to figure out to begin with. They’re playing down in pace, too, so Washington really looks terrible.
Chicago: The Bulls have played two back-to-back sets this year and each of their second legs were on the road. One in Detroit and one in Denver and they were blown out in each. The starters have, however, played and been on pace for normal minutes despite losing blowout run in both. This game has a big spread.
Pace Up Spots
Pace definition: Pace is the total number of possessions a team uses in a game.
*key* Green is elite pace of play, Blue is decent pace of play, & Red is slow pace of play.
Green = Fast Paced team
Blue = Neutral Paced team
Red = Slow Paced team
- Bulls rank: 29th vs. Bucks rank: 4th
- Wizards rank: 1st vs. Raptors rank: 28th
- Knicks rank: 26th vs. Celtics rank: 15th
NBA Game Totals
- New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics - 222.5 (BOS -9)
- Washington Wizards vs. Toronto Raptors - 229.5 (TOR -9.5)
- Chicago Bulls vs. Milwaukee Bucks - 229.5 (MIL -9.5)
- Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Sacramento Kings - 221.5 (SAC -3)
Top Tier Core Plays
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
The only problem with getting to Antetokounmpo tonight is the lack of value on the slate because he’s 11.1K on DK. The good thing is, on a small slate, we’re looking for raw points and there is nobody on the slate with as high a floor/ceiling combination than Antetokounmpo.
Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers
It’s been another season of Mitchell’s dominant fantasy production and he has a massive ceiling. He’s averaging 1.4 FP/min and leads the team with a 32.4% USG rate. This is the cheapest price Mitchell has been all year and is a fantastic spend up for fair and balanced builds.
Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors
Here’s one of the best leverage plays of the slate. With limited value, the rest of the Raptors are going to be much more popular than Barnes, who leads them in usage and fantasy production. Barnes is coming off his worst game, and that recency bias is keeping his ownership down. It’s a dream spot for Barnes vs. Washington.
Mid-Tier Core Plays
Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors
It is not often you have such a dream pairing of really fast in pace and really bad defensively. Washington is 1st in pace and 26th in DRtg this year. Siakam’s been good the last two games averaging well over 1 FP/min. He’s seen a massive increase in usage notching a 31 and 36% USG rate in the last two games. The price is fantastic and it’s hard not to jam him into your lineup against the Wizards.
Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers
I really like Garland here as the price seems to not rise at all. He’s just 7.2K coming off 42 DKP. His minutes cap is completely gone as he’s played 36 minutes in back-to-back games and he even lost out some money due to blowouts in each game. He’s averaging 1 FP/min and still hasn’t shot the ball all too well.
Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls
Leverage is big on a four-game NBA slate. The Bulls are garning some ownership and LaVine really isn’t. He’s the SIXTH highest owned Bulls player on this slate and the other five are at LEAST 2x his ownership this season. He’s the most expensive of the three but arguably has the highest ceiling considering he scored 51 actual in a game this year. I’m OK getting to Nikola Vucevic and DeMar DeRozan, but LaVine is the guy you want for leverage.
Value Tier Core Plays
Coby White, Chicago Bulls
There’s going to be a lot of ownership gravitating towards White and it’s for good reason. He’s been really productive lately putting up 26+ DKP in five straight games and 31+ in thre straight. The scoring has been consistent, but so have the assists. This is a massive pace-up spot for the Bulls who face a Bucks team ranking 4th in pace and have the 6th worst defensive rating. Hard not to get to White in cash, but like him in GPP’s as well.
Bobby Portis, Milwaukee Bucks
Portis’ minutes have trended upwards recently as he’s played 23+ minutes in each. He’s also flashed a fantastic floor over that span putting up 25+ DKP. Portis has a safe minutes floor because he’s their backup PF and C, and now Jae Crowder is out, so does he get a slightly bigger bump? Portis has averaged 1.1 FP/min on the year. I really like Portis in tournaments tonight.
Keon Ellis, Sacramento Kings
After starting his first game against the Trailblazers while playing 21 minutes, he started another game against OKC and played 30. He shot the ball very poorly but we good everywhere else. If his 1-7 from three was 3-for-7 or 4-for-7 he approaches and likely topps 30 DKP. Something also of note, he played basically the final seven minutes of the game and closed ahead of Harrison Barnes. We’ll see if that’s the case against a bigger team such as the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Ayo Dosunmu, Chicago Bulls
With Alex Caruso listed doubtful again today, there’s a few things that could happen and how the Bulls rotation could play out. We saw this on Sunday and it was Dosunmu and Torrey Craig that saw their minutes rise to 26 and 30 respectively. I’m OK with Craig too considering he’s cheap and is starting, but Dosunmu has a higher shot-making ceiling. Dosunmu is $600 cheaper on DK than Craig and has much better position flexibility being a SG/SF. He also, and maybe the most important part here, CLOSED with the Bulls starters OVER Craig. He’s also more likely to play in a blowout if this game is out of hand. Some food for thought.

Player News
Buddy Hield had 15 points (5-of-14 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and four three-pointers against the Timberwolves in Game 2 on Thursday.
Hield moved into the Warriors’ starting lineup in the first round and the team became somewhat reliant on his scoring. With Stephen Curry (hamstring) out in Game 2, Hield started and played 29 minutes. The 32-year-old shooting guard led the Warriors in field goal attempts, though no one in a Golden State uniform was able to reach 20 points. The Warriors weren’t able to overcome a double-digit first half deficit. Despite the four made three-pointers, they’re going to need more from Hield as the series shifts to Golden State, especially if Curry remains out.
Jimmy Butler had 17 points (6-of-13 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and two three-pointers against the Timberwolves in Game 2 on Thursday.
Butler couldn’t get it done without Stephen Curry (hamstring) on the road in Game 2. The Warriors fell behind by double-digits early and never recovered. Butler had 17 points on 13 shots, which wasn’t far off from the 20 points he had in Game 1. Still, the Warriors have to regroup as they head home for Games 3 and 4 as they try to figure out a way to keep this series close until Curry can return to the court.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 20 points (7-of-13 FGs), two rebounds, three assists, one block and four three-pointers in Game 2 against the Warriors on Thursday.
Alexander-Walker was a key scorer off the bench in Game 2. He, Naz Reid and Donte DiVencenzo combined for 10 made three-pointers off the bench. In a game where the Warriors were desperate for scoring without Stephen Curry (hamstring), those bench points were too much to overcome as the Timberwolves won by 24 points.
Julius Randle had 24 points (10-of-17 FGs), seven rebounds, 11 assists and one three-pointer in Game 2 against the Warriors on Thursday.
Randle led the Timberwolves in scoring in the Game 2 victory. The 30-year-old power forward was just three rebounds away from a triple-double. He was a steadying presence in his 33 minutes as Anthony Edwards dealt with an ankle injury towards the end of the first half. Edwards recovered from his injury to play 34 minutes, but Randle is still the next most important player in this series for the Timberwolves.
Anthony Edwards had 20 points (6-of-13 FGs), nine rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block and two three-pointers in the Timberwolves’ 117-93 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 on Thursday.
Edwards appeared to suffer a sprained left ankle towards the end of the second quarter as the Warriors’ Trayce Jackson-Davis landed on his foot. Edwards turned the same ankle in the first round against the Lakers and appeared to re-aggravate the injury. The 23-year-old shooting guard would go on to start the second half and play a team-high 34 minutes in the Game 2 victory. Edwards will only have one full day off before the series resumes in Golden State for Game 3 on Saturday.
Warriors will start Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Quinten Post in Game 2 against the Timberwolves on Thursday.
No surprise here as Curry was always a long shot to make it back for Game 2 after leaving Game 1 with hamstring injury. While there has been a report that the 37-year-old point guard is expected to miss a week, there is no firm timetable for his return. The Warriors will go big with their starting lineup for Game 2 with center Quinten Post entering the lineup in Curry’s absence.
