NBA Best Bets Today, 10/26: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Saturday
The Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets match went one point over the total. Absolutely brutal as the second hook gets us again. However it reveals the process is correct, losing by 0.5 a stat, or 1 point should not discourage daily bettors.
Pascal Siakam did very little passing and only earned two assists, meanwhile the Phoenix Suns versus Los Angeles Lakers game got out of hand quickly, 48 points allowed in 15 minutes is ridiculous for both the scorers and the defenders.
However, the plus odds parlay on Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant was successful. In doing so it prevented a bad night against the books. Betting is an act of give and take, sometimes you take money from the sportsbooks, and other times they give you the business. Staying disciplined and focused on daily wins is the key, and that is what today’s best bets are all about.
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/26
Just like yesterday, there are ten games today. Three games are nationally televised on NBATV. One of which is the first game of the day, the Los Angeles Clippers versus the Denver Nuggets beginning at 5:00 PM ET.
Clippers vs. Nuggets Prediction: Michael Porter Over 5.5 Rebounds (-125 on Draftkings Sportsbook)
Michael Porter’s rebounding line is set at 5.5 for the second game in a row. The difference being the odds, they were at plus odds across all platforms two days ago, but now shifted to negative (juiced) odds. However a good betting angle is a good betting angle, and winning is the name of the game.
Michael Porter recorded eight rebounds against the Oklahoma City Thunder who were an efficient scoring team. He has averaged 5.5 rebounds per game for four seasons, and should be attacking both the offensive and defensive glass today.
The Clippers have a good center in Ivica Zubac, but Porter Jr. is usually matched up with a forward, and at 6’ 10” there are not many forwards with the size to keep him away from the glass. He rarely gets in foul trouble, and has underrated rebounding skills. Punish the bookies for only accepting the juice instead of moving the line.
Thunder at Bulls Prediction: Under 229.5 Total Points (-110 on Draftkings Sportsbook)
The Oklahoma City Thunder looked in mid season form, and are a great defensive team. A young team that hustles, and plays every play with intensity. They also make several of their field goal attempts, which allows them to get set on defense.
The Chicago Bulls have been scoring a lot of points, but they played the New Orleans Pelicans and the Milwaukee Bucks… not the best defensive teams. They do have an incredible and deep back court capable of scoring, but the Thunder look like they are picking up where they left off last year. Locking down a team’s top two scorers have been part of the Thunder’s success the past two seasons.
230 is still several points, even in the modern NBA. Oklahoma likes to set up their half court offense and let Shai Gilgeous-Alexander pick apart opposing teams with angles and assists. This in addition to great defense, should keep the total under in today’s game.
The fact that the Bulls are playing in back-to-back games should help the point total stay low with tired legs and more bench minutes. Put a unit on the under in the Thunder versus Bulls game.
Best NBA Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 10/26
The Phoenix Suns are coming off a brutal loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last night, and have the reigning Western Conference Champions in their home opener tonight. Not exactly the easiest schedule or opponents to have in back-to-back games, or for a home opener.
Mavericks at Suns Prediction: DAL Mavericks -2 (-110 on Draftkings) for 2 Units
The Dallas Mavericks have a complete team, an all-time great back court, forwards that are well rounded, and two centers that wear down opposing front courts. They did not fluke their way to a Finals appearance, and have one of the greatest basketball minds for a Head Coach, Jason Kidd.
Kidd knew the Mavericks could win the Western Conference if they avoided the Nuggets, he also knew his team could beat the Suns in previous playoffs, and he knows how to attack one of the oldest teams in the league in their first back-to-back games of the season.
Meanwhile Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, and Klay Thompson are well rested and looking to continue their dominance from their opening game. Derek Lively II looks like the center of the future, and P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford supply plenty of offense. The Mavericks are a mismatch for most teams and the Suns are lacking a front court. Look for a blowout well over two points tonight.
