Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm MLB DFS Playbook for Thursday, April 10th!

We have another action-packed day of day baseball with a 5-game main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that starting at 1:10. With a Thursday full of baseball ahead, our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!

We will also have an MLB DFS Livestream every day! So tune in at 5 PM ET to watch Jon Impemba and James Grande break down today’s slate, give you last-minute advice, and answer any questions before locking in those lineups!

Make sure you subscribe to the Fantasy Alarm YouTube channel so you never miss a show! Also, join the Fantasy Alarm Discord to get your DFS lineup questions answered by our MLB DFS team! Plus, as always, be sure to check in with our MLB DFS Tools, with the Daily MLB Projections, MLB DFS Rostership Projections, and our MLB DFS Lineup Generator when building those lineups today to help you decide which players you should be targeting.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Small slate + middle of the rotation starter mix is always a nightmare because these guys are just as likely to get shelled as they are to put up 20+ fantasy points.

As I said on the DFS Preview Show, I felt like Gavin Williams is the automatic click for lineups today as he draws a matchup against the lowly Chicago White Sox and on DraftKings he is over 50% rostered today while on FanDuel he still checks in as the highest rostered SP, though not as high of ownership.

There's not a ton of value worth targeting here so I think we will see a wide spread of SP2 picks on DraftKings today.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Gavin Williams, Cleveland Guardians

I predicted he would be the highest rostered SP and I was correct. The White Sox offense has essentially shut down since their opening week series against the Angels and though Gavin Williams has not looked good in his two starts, a cure for tough outings this season will likely be facing this White Sox lineup.

If you fade him on DraftKings, just know that over 50% of the field will be having him in their roster and that number could be higher in single entry contests.

Chris Bassitt, Toronto Blue Jays

Listen, I'm a Red Sox fan, I know what this offense is capable of doing but they just haven't been consistently in sync this season and Chris Bassitt has been on point through his first two starts of the season which came against tough opponents in the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets.

We just saw Kevin Gausman pitch eight innings of shutout baseball yesterday with 10 strikeouts against this Boston lineup.

Michael Wacha, Kansas City Royals

You know, on the MLB DFS Preview Show we skimmed over Wacha but Grande circled back to make a point that this Twins offense is struggling right now and while Wacha is unexciting, he is a veteran pitcher that can pitch deeper into ballgames and should find success against weaker lineups more often than not.

We then look at today's ownership and see that on DraftKings he has the second-highest rostership on the slate at the position.

I'm buying in.

Quinn Preister, Milwaukee Brewers

A former first round pick that was never able to figure it out in the Pirates organization then finds himself traded to the Red Sox where he enjoyed a final few months in Triple-A and then was competing for a rotation spot after a decent spring training before ultimately being optioned to AAA to start the season.

Brewers then traded a fairly decent haul for Priester which featured a top 10 organization prospect, the #33 pick in the upcoming rookie draft and their a player to be named or cash.

Preister is then immediately inserted into the team's starting rotation and will make his debut here in Coors Field.

There are plenty of questions surrounding Preister but the Red Sox have done a great job getting them most talent out of some of their pitchers under the Craig Breslow era and maybe they fixed whatever Preister wasn't able to fix while in the Pirates organization.

The Rockies offense continues to struggle, even in Coors Field, so I'm willing to throw a dart here given the price.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

When there's less that great pitching on a slate that usually means there is plenty of good hitting spots for us to take advantage of and when we have a small slate AND Coors Field without expensive pitching on the slate you know where the chalk is going to be and that's exactly what we have. Stacking the Brewers and filling in the positions where the money allows today.

Coors Field Stack

The Milwaukee Brewers are once again getting all of the ownership today with the top five players and eight of the top 10 players in ownership coming from the Brewers lineup.

If you want to be contrarian and still get exposure here today then the Rockies are actually the team with only Brenton Doyle really getting a lot of ownership while rookie Zac Veen is hitting second today at a nice cheap price tag.

Jackson Chourio is the cover of today's playbook and yesterday we saw Christian Yelich hit a ball 464 feet. So, yeah.

Jonathan Aranda/Brandon Lowe, Tampa Bay Rays

Jose Soriano is on the mound for the Angels today and he is a pretty good pitcher, no doubt about it, but in a very small sample this season we've seen lefties do some damage against him, owning a .591 slugging percentage while having hit two homers.

Soriano is a ground ball pitcher but if he's not getting those ground balls this ballpark that Tampa Bay now calls home is going to punish flyball  pitchers.

Kyren Paris, Los Angeles Angels

Sure, fine, yeah. Ok.

Two homers last night. He now has five on the season. He apparently worked with Aaron Judges personal hitting coach in the offseason to adjust his approach at the plate and now he can't stop barreling baseballs and hitting home runs.
