Welcome to Saturday! After a day off, we are back with another full day of postseason baseball, with all four division series starting today.

We’ve got so much great baseball ahead of us. Bobby Witt vs. Aaron Judge, the Dodgers vs. Padres, Tigers Magic. How can you not be romantic about baseball? Let’s join in on the fun today with some more winning MLB DFS lineups!

Today’s 4-game slate will start with the Tigers vs. Guardians game getting underway at 1:08 PM on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

There are eight teams left, plenty of stars in action, and endless ways to attack today's slate, so let’s jump right into today’s division series playbook and all my favorite MLB DFS picks for the day!

MLB DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, October 5

While there are plenty of pitchers that provide intrigue and upside today between both Japanese stars Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Kodai Senga making their postseason debuts, Tanner Bibee and Dylan Cease both bring plenty of upside and great stuff; for me, Zack Wheeler and Gerrit Cole are the clear top targets that I am rolling with on today’s slate.

On the offensive side, things are always tricky in the postseason. There are so many great pitchers and runs are just harder to come by in October. The main offenses I am looking to target for today’s slate are the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and The Philadelphia Phillies.

Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are the most well-rounded team in the playoffs, and that begins with Zack Wheeler, one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball for the last handful of years. He threw another 200 innings this season with a 2.57 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 224 strikeouts. In the postseason, he has thrown 63.1 innings with a 2.42 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts. Expect greatness to continue today.

This Mets offense is solid, but they don’t scare me at all with Wheeler on the mound. I think Wheeler should be over $10,000 on this slate today, and at this price I am not sure how you don’t immediately anchor him in your lineup.

Gerrit Cole, New York Yankees

Even with his rough start against the Red Sox, Gerrit Cole has a 2.25 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 61 strikeouts in 60 innings over the last two months. He bounced back great after that Boston start to through 15.2 innings, giving up only 4 hits and 1 run over his final 2 starts of the season. Gerrit Cole has been the Yankees ace for 5 years now, and he will be looking to give them a great start to their postseason.

The Kansas City Royals have not been a scary offense. Since September 1st, they have a 23.5% strikeout rate and a .627 OPS against righties (4th lowest OPS in the majors). They only scored 3 runs in their 2-game sweep of the Orioles and shouldn’t pose a threat to a great outing by Cole today.

MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Hitters

Shohei Ohtani, 1B/OF Los Angeles Dodgers

It is Shohei Ohtani. Do I need to write you much to convince you of his greatness? I will say this: I have been off of Ohtani for a while despite what he has been doing because his price tag of well over $7,000 has been too much. We enter the postseason, and it is below $7,000. Are we really not expecting the greatness to continue in his first postseason appearance?

The price is still plenty high, and you will have to find some values to fit him in the lineup, but with this price drop, I think it is worth trying to do because I don’t expect the insanity he has been showing us throughout the season and especially the last month is going to stop just because it is October.

Bryson Stott, 2B Philadelphia Phillies

Second base is a weird position today. The most expensive player is Gleyber Torres, at $4,200. With no top-end guys to turn to, I am going with a solid hitter on the best team in a good matchup. I love Kodai Senga, but what are we really expecting from him today? He could get roughed up, and even if not, he shouldn’t last long, and the Mets bullpen hasn’t exactly been lights out.

Trea Turner, SS Philadelphia Phillies

We have all the reasons to like Trea Turner, along with the rest of the Phillies that I just mentioned with Stott, but beyond that, this is Trea Turner we are talking about. He had a strong end to the season, slashing .280/.319/.495 with 6 homers and 5 steals in September.

This guy lives for the big moments, and I think we see him get his postseason off to a fast start today.

Jasson Dominguez, OF New York Yankees

The New York Yankees can’t win the World Series on the backs of Judge and Soto alone (though they might still be able to do most of the work). I do think someone else is going to have to have a big postseason for the Yankees to go all the way, and I think future star Jasson Dominguez is a good candidate.

His 18 games in the big leagues this season were very short of spectacular, with only a .179/.313/.304 slash line, but I think he also had a lot of bad luck. At this price, I like the chance of him stepping up in the big moment as long as Boone gives him a shot and puts him in the lineup.
